Ok! so! I started playing footbag a few weeks ago and I can stall Toe to Toe very consistently, do legovers pretty consistently, mirage and around the world sometimes, but I can barely do inside/outside stalls and I can't do clippers at all.
My question is... What should I work on right now?
Because I'm having fun practicing legovers and mirages but since I can hardly do the inside/outside stalls I'm worried that I'm getting ahead of myself. Am I doing myself harm by not learning the absolute basics first?
What should I practice now...

Hey if you can hit harder tricks great. I think you'll be fine, just practice your insides and outsides, you'll get 'em in no time.
Clippers took me a while, but what really helped is someone showed me how to do it in person, after watching it in real life they came quickly. Do you have Lavers, that could really help

If you can throw an outside stall in there every now and again, that's cool, but I don't find them overly important. insides, on the other hand, are very important. If you haven't guessed, they will help with clippers and clipper set tricks. You said you were having fun practicing mirages and legovers and the such... SSSSSOooooo... try landing your tricks on insides.
Here's a list of some things you may want to work on/know. Some are repeats.
+Toe stalls
+Inside stalls
-outside stalls
+ATW's both ways (in to out and out to in, I mean.)
+Legover
+Pickup (same as legover, but bring your leg the other way around)
+Mirage
- Illusion (same as mirage, but bring your leg the other way around)
+Pixie
- Farie (same as... you get the idea)
+clippers
The ones with +'s are more pertanant to beginners. the minus's are important, but generally more difficult and relatively less imporant to learn immeadiately. BUT! DON'T! IGNORE! THEM!

And don't ignore your flipside...
I was such an idiot when I began learning difficult tricks...My flipside was still very weak especially my flipside inside stall sucked...and now ? I have to drill those basics like crazy to advance to better (more interesting) tricks...
Slowly my flipside is catching up with my strong foot but it took me about 1,5 months to get solid stalls with my flipside...
So don't forget your flipside I adjure you
greetings Julian

and don't forget, certain basic moves are only "more" or "less" important if you want to make your style exactly like the person who's telling you what's important.
It's important to solidify your game with your pixies, steppings, mirages, butterflies, and osis, but don't forget to diversify. If you want to learn around the world from outside to outside, or blind butt stall from backwards forehead drop, you should. Mixing it up and having your own style is important, so don't miss out on learning or inventing something wacky even if it's not incredibly difficult, or even if the concept is uncommon.
