Colombian tourney results help

Post by Davidr022 »

Hey, we just had a little torney a couple of days ago, since it wasnt hardly prepared, there were just like 8 participants...

Anyway, this is our first time judging a big 1 so we decided to make a poll, so everyone vote and help us to determine the results.

Here are the results, as we thought they would be correct:

Big 1

1st place. Mullet
2nd place. Ripped Warrior
3rd place. Shooting butterfly
4th place. Double over down swirl

Sick 3

1st place. Legbeater>Ripwalk>PS whirl
2nd place. Legbeater>Ripwalk>Torque
3rd place. Parkwalk>Symp Whirling Swirl> Butterfly

Soon we will upload some vids.

Please vote. :D

sick 1s are very tough to judge and with those moves - it really depends on how well they were hit. If they were all hit perfectly hmm. I don't know what I'd go with actually. For me double over down swirl is the hardest but for lots of people that is a fairly easy move although definitly cool. I think I'd go with ripped warrior I guess but really it's so hard to judge that I think any person would be a fair winner :P

yeah a clean shooting butterfly is a very hard move and would be right up there - as I said any of those moves could win. Regarding what Stephen said - I really think that when judging competitions it's important for judges not to judge based on their own abilities- but equally not to judge based on the abilities of the competitor - by this I mean "that move is easy for me" or "that move is easy for the competitor" aren't factors that should be taken into account at all in my opinion. Different players find different moves harder or easier - a lot of this is based on what moves they practiced early on and their skill level. For example of the moves mention - shooting butter is my easiest, then ripped warrior, then mullet and then double down swirl (although it's very close between the first three) but I probably think overall if they were all hit perfectly I'd put mullet last because I think it takes the least amount of skill (still a lot though - it's relative) and is the most standard of those tricks. Of course it's very close so I can easily imagine going with mullet as the winner having seen the video.

I have to say it sounds like an awesome level of competition that the top 4 results were such impressive tricks - nice work Colombian crew!!

Regarding sick 3 results - I agree with your order:

1. legbeater>ripwalk>ps whirl
2. legbeater>ripwalk>torque
3. parkwalk>symp whirling swirl>butterfly

It's also really really close - and really depends completely on execution. The third combo could definitly win although I'm not big on combos with bails in them - if the butterfly was a pdx illusion I would have gone with that third combo for sure.

So to sum up - Seeing the videos will really really help :)

Hey thx all of you for voting, apparently Mullet is the winner, followed by Ripped Warrior. The 3rd place i dont know which move...probably shooting butterfly, seems that i placed 4th since i hit Dod S

k, thanks again, maybe you change your opinion when you see the videos...maybe 8) .

Alejandro: The video is still being edited(i think), but i bealive that available vids will only be the sick 1, and maybe the sick 3.
Ripped warrior just had like 3 votes, from us(4 with yours), against like 5 to Mullet, and seems similar in this poll.
We´ll keep shredding and i hope you come to the next tourney :D
