Bad ass!
hmmm.. Brantford Area Dedicated Agro Shred Symposium
(BADASS)
haha I will have to suggest that to Johnny.
Isn't it funny how last year people complained that all the Worlds videos were so focussed on Vasek and now this year people are upset that there isn't enough Vasek?
It was interesting how little Vasek played at worlds. Jorden played every second that he was awake, almost literally.

I got a job!
I wash dishes at a gourmet pizza place.
I work every day from 11 - 5, it's a pretty good shift I guess. At first I kinda felt like the job sucked and I could be doing something better for the same (minimum) wage. But it is growing on me. I get a FREE MEAL with every shift, meaning I don't pay for dinner anymore! yahoo!
The dishwashing bit isn't so bad. It's all about efficiency and best use of time/space.
I started getting bored at work so now I have rigged into my 'kitchen help' outfit my mp3 player and I wear just the right ear bud, which faces my dishwashing area, and I leave my left open so that I can hear the random calls from the chefs next to me. Since I am the very bottomest rung on the ladder I am sorta the bitch. They aren't mean to me or anything, they are always very polite and helpful and cool when I have questions. But I am still in the bitch job spot so I have to do alot of chores for people, just the crap no one wants to do basically.
"Hey Tom, can you peel four litres of shrimp for me?"
"Hey Tom, could you peel two dozen red onions?" (I never knew how emotional of an experience this can really be! Ive cut onions before and shit, but like.. this is on a whole different scale since it's a restaurant. I sometimes get so overwhelmed by the fumes that my eyes are barfing out tears and I can't see anything or bear to have my eyes open and i wait it out.)
"Hey Tom, could you please fill these three tubs of ice?" (three 16 litre buckets that you have to go fill in the basement ice room in one go (as I was instructed when I was being shown the ropes) down and up the slipperiest stairs man has ever constructed)
And then lots of other little things like going downstairs to get random bits they need for the shit they are cooking.
Between all that I am, of course, washing dishes! It's really dishes and pans and trays and cuttlery and coffee cups and 1&2 litre tubs and tons of other various little things. You load them all up in these blue trays and spray or scrub em if they need it to get off the majority of the stuff then slide em into the machine, pull down a lever an the door slides closed and they wash for like.. 2 minutes maybe and then slide out the adjacent wall then I put them all away, the pieces come from all over the restaurant.
There is a bunch of kinda heavy shit that I have to carry around, I think this will be good for my body. I often take extra trips downstairs even when I know it's less efficient because I know I don't have to really 'push it' because if I work too hard I catch up to the people eating and I have nothing to do and it's boring, and when I am standing there looking bored the chefs often ask me to go prep something or something.
It's pretty okay, I don't mind the job, and the people are really nice there.. so it's working so far.
There are alot of servers too, I finally saw that there are some waitors at the place, it seemed like they only had chicks up until today. I can't tell any of the waitresses apart. They are all identical versions of Waitress Barbie and it's so confusing. I don't even try to remember their names, I had one figured out beause she was the black sheep with brown hair, but then today she showed up with it died blonde.
I am excited to talk about my job with Matt my housemate, because he is the person that got me the job, we have the same job now! He showed me the ropes on Sunday and then Monday was my first shift and he left town that day to go to NYC. Today I worked two extra hours at the end of my shift covering for him because he wouldn't be able to get into town in time for his shift. So I worked my longest shift yet today, 8.5 hours!
It was really cool to get to see him in the workspace that he has worked in for a month or two now that I now kinda call home. We both interact with the space differently, every dishwasher seems to have their own styles and techniques.
I am stoked for him to get home from work for us to finally get to talk about our job and stuff.
Today he called and woke me up at 10:43 AM alerting me that my shift at work was starting at 11! haha I am glad I didn't fuck that up, thanks Matt!
okay, enough talking about my job. I really didn't plan on talking about it that much.
Oh yeah, and Matt is also the best for another reason, he not only offered to take 2 hours from me tomorrow to make up for today, but he gave me a 1/4 of weed for free for doing him the favor!
OH! and this morning when I showed up at 11 ish on an empty stomache the chef made me a sweet snack! he toasted some fresh bread then put some meat and bruschetta and cheese on it then roasted it in the pizza oven so I wouldn't starve! how sweet! also, they make random snacks sometimes and they made chicken finger subs today and I got to have half of one. food made by chefs for chefs is always fucking godly. They know what tastes good.
Okay, I should talk about footbag at least a little.
I went to Summers End Shred yesterday in Toronto!
I had thought that I would have to miss it due to a Stag/Doe party I went to with the family but I found someone heading back to my town that night (old family friend) and caught a ride with them.
I surprised everyone at SES because nobody knew I was coming.
I read in an e-mail from Camille that everyone was meeting at 12 SHARP and that they would wait 15 minutes then take off and find a good shred spot.
Hehe, as it really turned out, only Jon Haber and I managed to arrive around 12 and we wound up having a great warm up shred right in the middle of the street. This was at BuskerFest in Toronto so the street was closed and there were tons of performers everywhere. Of course that meant that there were oodles of people there looking to watch freaks perform so naturally they would form circles around us and clap for good strings and stuff! it was great! It was a really positive environment, we were shredding in front of this perfect band called OKA from Australia. They had like.. flutes and DNB and didjerdagfd;fdoos and live singing and some percussion stuff. They had a really good feel and they were great to play to.
Actually the dudes in the band totally dug our shredding, at some point when they weren't playing they came over and filmed some shred! I think they filmed some Johnny or something.
JOHNNY AND JORDEN ARE SO GOOD!!!!
Jorden is rocking the g units now! He is busting harder and larger than LIFE!
In front of my eyes he started two strings IN A ROW with two toootally different BEASTS!
I think the tastiest link I saw him hit was royale>janiwalker.
I saw Johnny do like.. 4 alpine matadors in a string!
I hit a barroque again.
I hit whirlwind! woo! I didn't hit the other side. boo.
I hit whirl>sidewalk>whirl>ripwalk> rpt into a string first try.
and um... gyro symple pickup again.
muted fairy clip>gyro mirage>string.
I realised something the other day.
Moshing set is Ken's WHAT!? in reverse! yess! Moshing = Reverse Whatting! haha
The other day I was drilling stuff and I hit
symp whirl>inf rpt x many
osis>symp whirl rpt on multiple occasions
osis>whirl rpt x soooooooo many
I was playing the other day and I was drilling barflies. I tend to slap my leg on barflies sometimes because I kinda Penske em. I like it when people tell me my double downs are penske-esque, I think his are the most badass out there.
Vida made me a welcome home bag that is all blue with a green North America! hahah it's so adorable, I named him Atlas. Yesterday I hit the "Atlas Stall" aka a back of neck stall down on one knee with your hand to your chin in the traditional Atlas pose.
I am happy to be home home now. Vida and I have been hanging out alot and it feels really good. I miss her when she's not around. She just moved into a new place and it's super sweet! She lives with an old friend of hers now, who is such a crazy and unique character!
They have lots of cats and I am jealous big time hence I am going to try to convince my housemates that they want a cat too since one of their cats is about to spew out a sack of juicy kittens any day now!
My fingers are soooo crossed!
I have changed my bag style alot lately, they are much smaller and tighter now, but I think they break in turbo choice.
I mostly play with my own bags.
My fingers are tired.
I bet this is really long, Ive been typing for a while now.

Yea working in restaurants aren't so bad. i washed dishes at this breakfast cafe where i live for a summer. it got so busy there in the summer. i think the most people we ever did in a 7 hour period was like 250...thats aalllloooooot of dishes to wash. After that job, i got a job in a coffee shop. We do lunches and stuff there too. and i do everything there is to be done there, so i cooked, washed dishes, served people, took there orders and all this other junk. it was a pretty fun job. but i had to leave it because of school, and because im moving.
props on whirlwind! thats a fun trick. it felt so good when i hit that move. can't wait to see you at KICKASS man!!!

- made a kickass KICKASS video --> le check it out = http://www.footbag.org/media/344/1-come ... ICKASS.wmv
.. i think my best string from that was something like dim>side>whirl>blurry whirl>rip>rip>blurry whirl>rip>stuff
Derrick busts hein in this!!! he hits BSOS DDD for his first time (a week after me! haha)
Derrick is at 2 days short of 1 Year playing footbag in this video!
I guess I am at 1.75 er somthing.
I feel good lately!
There has been lots of smiling in my life and I am waaay happy about lots of things. .. Kinda sad about other stuff sometimes though. I guess that's life though.
Work is still okay, I just got my first pay check in years, $466! woo!
Sigh.. I have to write proposals for KICKASS funding and footbag shoe creating. I have been attacking these two issues like a beast!

I have to leave for school in a few minutes so I will just rip some shit out.
.. actually.. I kinda have to rip some shit out literally so this will be a few minutes shorter.
..
Aaaaaaaaaannyways, life is good.
I want to clean up my tattoo design and get it ASAP.
I need to write up a few more proposals.. 1 more for the footbag shoe (this is like.. my millionth for the damn shoe! haha) and then 1 more for KICKASS to Queen's.
I had a look at the two comp locations that are battling in my head and both looked pretty good. The dance studio was pretty slick actually, I was impressed. The gym looked like.. like a gym! Gyms are boring!
I realise that so long as the light and the grip and the sound are good then it won't matter too much, if you build it they will come.
I love that about footbag events. All I had to do was say "Hey guys I am throwing a footbag thing, there will be party and footbag, come!" and then the ears of all the regions shredders perked up and they echoed back to me that they heard my call and that they will be showing up with smiles and lavers and 32's. What a sweet group of friends!
Thank you footbag.
No I am serious, footbag is my saviour in life. It has made me cool, it has made the twinkle in my eye sparkle twice as bright, I feel confident! It's crazy to know that at any time I can make people go all crazy and say stuff like "IVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THAT BEFORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!", what a skill!
I love footbag people too. They (YOU!) are such great talented interesting people that have this amazing keen-ness to learn and progress and develop skills. The more you hang out with footbag players in a variety of settings the more you see how their footbag thinking carries over to other parts of their life. Most have other little wierd skills they picked up over the years like juggling or pen spinning or poi or whatever, we are all so sick.
I have to go brush my teeth and take that dump I talked about earlier.
Wow, talk about ending something semi-eloquent fantastically uneloquently.

I still can't spin, don't worry.Matt Cross wrote:you hit whirlwind?!? fack!!! I've been skooling my spins, I hope I can catch up to you soon... can't wait for KICKASS!!! Props on the job, too... aren't you taking classes? sounds like the hours would interfere...
I shredded the other day in LAVERS!
I was on campus and I wanted to shred but I didn't have my shred shoes so I gave the old lavers a try.
I was able to play at about 70%, which is better than I expected. I couldn't (didn't) do any risky ankle moves because the shoes were sorta too big and foppy and I didn't wanna chance it.
I hit pixie whirl>schmoe rpt, that felt tight.
Stephen Barnes inspired me to try leg>rip>blur rpt and I hit it first try.
Tonight is the first KFM meeting of the year!!
I am going to hit fusion!
Ive only tried it once on each side I think and I am pretty sure I footed it. Derrick was equally close.
Geeeez Derrick!
He has been playing for a year now. Imagine that, he found me playing alone one night a year ago and now a year later I still have a good friend who is fabulously talented and who pushes me to better myself at the thing I want to better myself most at in life.
I made a new friend today, his name is Dave. He has cool hair and he appears to be into piercings and shit like me. We are going to be group mates in my project management class.
I like my classes this semester!
I have Project Management & Economics, Introduction to Robotics and Ergomics & Design.
My ergo teacher is so similar to Jay Ingram, my science hero. They both make science and life and reality seem so magical and incredible even in it's simplicities. Fuck i love life and living!!!!!
OK.. today I will write up all those proposals and contact some more people. I realise that I *have* to push hard for the footbag shoe for everyones sake. This HAS to happen, the growth of footbag depends on this step ultimately occurring.. so I MUST tackle it.

Thanks for the kind words Josh, though footbag shoe or not, I will never be in Pete's league, he's the next level.
I just had an AMAZING KFM meeting!!
I have alot to say about it but I feel like getting high instead.
I think my favourite personal highlight was first try ever osis>janiwalker when Derrick requested it.
There is a new KFM prodigy, watch out for Jack Wei!
He was hitting all the basic two adds and he showed up with his very own fucking 32!!!! He has a footfighter, that alone had me turbo stoked. His buddy Ben came too, he was a little less advanced but equally enthusiastic and they said that they have a few other buddies that hack alot.
I can't wait for where all this is going.
The first club meeting of the year had like.. 6 people! go KFM!
