is it bad for the bag if you roll it onto your foot?

i dont think its a good idea unless its a crochet bag..but footbags shouldnt be chicken scratched...

yeah I definately don't let them be chicken scratched

I only bring my sand ones to school, and I think there's some sand coming out of one, but you have to drop it on the table a few time and a speck or 2 comes out, what should I do about this?

should I just keep playing with since it'll take like 2 years for it all to come out? or what?

its not bad for the footbag if you light roll it back onto your foot with your other foot , its not hard to do it very softly , ive been in numouros circles where very hood footbag players do toe pick ups but there are different then what you are probably used to seeing just a light roll onto the foot , its pretty much the same as rollng it in your fingers to break in

joe, i agree fully.

i do it all the time, and easily as gently as rolling it between my fingers.

bags get holes from "chicken scratches" when the bag gets dragged along the ground. if you set the foot you're rolling it onto directly behind the bag, there is no reason that it cant be done harmlessly.

And you also have to take into consideration the type of shoes their wearing and the surface you're playing on. Sneakers with sharp ridges scraping your bag on a cement pavement onto their foot is just heartbreaking. That's why I never entrust my 32s to people that I don't know and trust, and those that are trusted are veteran footbag players.

Mr. Sandbags are alright in a way, since they're a bit inexpensive in comparison, but its worthy to make that warning or it'll cost them a pretty penny.

It really depends on the bag. My aluminum hacks will get eaten up really fast by tricks like that. But I have made others out of stainless steel and titanium and they can take almost anything you do to them.

In short, yes it is bad for the bag, but it also depends on the bag. I dont feel as bad totaling a $2 footbag than I do a $30 bag.

Also, half of you are talking about toe-ing up mr sandbags, that is a whole different story than a choice 32. They can handle different shit.

All I ask is that you have a little respect and if you are playing in a circle with one of my bags, PLEASE use your hands.

everyone has their own rules tom. when im in a circle with someone i know doesnt like them, i.e. you, or matt, or aric to name 3, i dont, but when im playing with someone (usually 1 on 1 practice session) if they dont mind, i do it. as long as i know where the person who's bag it is stands.

but i definately can pick up a bag with my feet with out damaging it.

As far as I know nobody has actually tested this to see if it effects the life of the bag or its performance.

(Ie. taken 2 bags that are exactly the same, play with each for the same amount of time each day and break them in the same way, but foot roll one and hand pickup the other.)

I personally don't like my 32 panel bags being foot pickuped, because I don't have many and I would like them to last as long as possible, plus i'm used to picking it up with my hand so it does'nt really matter.

My friend however does foot pickups all the time

, I have to yell at him to stop him accidentily doing it to my bag. It's ok now though because he stitchs so we can just use his bags

I've been using the same Abshire bag for over two years (it's been my primary bag for over a year), and I almost never pick it up with my hands.

I'm way rougher on bags with my hands during break-in then I am with my feet picking them up.

I never do toe pickups (if the bag's on the ground I mean), not even when the owner of the bag doesn't care. They are not animals or humans - they're footbags and have feelings y'know.
