so what would be the trick: blistering symp rev wrl, step giro symp rev wrl ?
I haven't hit it, if that's what you mean't. I'm pretty bad at Osis so it's really hard for me.

...and the move is blistering symposium reverse whirl, but I think we should call it oblitorator. (I was just using surgery as an example for choosing a nickname)

I don't think you get naming rights if you haven't hit it. :? It just comes off as a bit... forward... to start naming things.

I know this move has been hit, but I want to know if the way I am hitting this move is cheating or not.

Watching the latest vids in the video section from Worlds I saw both Vasek and Felix hit what looked like fairy ripstein same side. The way they hit it was like half symple or something. So I tried a few single swirled version yesterday during practice.

What I hit was like a fairy at the ankle followed by a symple swirl all in one motion. The timing is there for the second dex, but I haven't hit ripstein completely yet, so hitting this move would be a stretch.

Is hitting a fairy symple swirl as an all peak>downtime move considered legit?

Thanks,

Damon

Great! So I hit a set.

Awesome

So basically I hit a phasing clipper SS??? Yummy. I do like that set, just feels like cheating.

And about Rev. Whirls - Lay off! I hit many different tricks using that dex, the sym version of that dex, etc... It's fun and less stressful on the knee as opposed to a regular whirl.

And if it is just so damn easy of a dex, then bust it. I do.

I think a lot of moves are cheesy, but its still footbag and still a possiblity. If you don't like something in your own game, then don't do it. But bashing a move is just plain ignorant. Noone says you have to hit a rev. whirl. Jorden and Vasek both hit that dex. You gonna tell em they suck for doing it? Didn't think so.

So do you guys think Whirling Gyro Symposium Reverse Whirl* is even possible? I'd love to see someone try to hit it I think it would be a super stylish move.
Hmmm, I'll put this in the challenge section. :D

PS. If you hit it, I suggest you name it Oblitorator, it just sounds so cool :D

Because that trick sounds ridiculous - with no offense.
I hate it when somebody comes up with a really weird trick and hits it just because it has many adds or it hasn't been hit before and he wants to name something. Like Fairy Ducking Symp Rev Whirling xbd Rake - WHY?
I hate lots of things nowadays...

I'm with Anssi. Although I'm pretty sure that Chema hasn't hit it himself but he just wants to name something. :?

Many of the big-add tricks hit so far have been named but all the time more big tricks are hit - this means more names. Though the names were really cool (in namer's opinion) it's not practical because it means more and more names to remeber. AND THAT'S A THING I DON'T LIKE. I want to play footbag and not try to remember the trick names, adds etc. stuff all the time.

The beauty of footbag is that there are so many combinations... so many combinations of components, so many combinations of moves, etc. But to name them all would be silly, and impractical. Blurry drifter is a cool move which is hit fairly often, and has been around for ages. But it has no nickname. That`s OK. Blurry drifter. Easy to understand, and sounds cool as is.

I really think that new names should only be given to moves which are hit frequently, and have technical names that are way too long. When I first hit PS Torque, I didn`t give it a name, exactly because of the above two reasons: its technical name isnt that long, and it isn`t hit that often. Whirling gyro diving double pick up is an excessively long technical name... but even if somebody does hit this, it likely would be a one time deal. It doesn`t need a name.

I also agree with Kevin Regamey, that only downtime components should get names these days. If every variation of a downtime component got a name, it would be too much to keep track of.

Naming a move seems like a cheap way to get recognition. Play for yourself, have fun with it. If you hit a trick nobody else has, good for you. If you really master it and start throwing it in a lot of your runs, and it starts to catch on, then yeah, maybe a name is in order. But please, lets not go crazy with the name-giving.
