So we had a pretty good session yesterday. Some crazy guy came up and started just wanting to hack, and in the meantime told us his whole life story, broke my Nalgene bottle, and when a little too into detail about how much he would fuck up some guy. What an asshole. And he just WOULDN'T go away! So eventually we just pretended like we were leaving and relocated.

I didn't hit too much. Whirlygig for the first time, dim>blizz rpt. I can't even remember all of what Kyle hit; he's the best.

I think I need to spend like a month just schooling flip double downs and whirls. And flip eggebeaters and flip torques, and flip gyro and flip swirls and flip spinning/ducking. Ugh, stupid footbag.

Man I still can't believe that guy couldn't figure out how to open your Nalgene. He's all, "So you just turn it and it comes off?!?" What a dumb bastard.

The shred was fun once we relocated. Nice whirlygig and that blizzard > dimwalk was great. Are you down to come down to Auraria on Wednesday and play?

Ye ye. I've got a class that runs from 4-5:15, so I'm down anytime after that. I'll remember my speakers this time!

Fun session today with Stephen and YAUSSI. I was really glad I got both guys to come out because we had a perfectly balanced circle and everybody had some good busts (plus I hadn't seen Michael in a while since our schedules don't allow for much hang time anymore). Yaussi is rocking my old red lavers with the outer mesh cut off instead of the hard inner mesh (Lon Smith style). He played really well and had some runs of consecutive clippers on both sides and some great runs were he'd do all sorts of legovers and mirages from clipper and toe sets. He's getting better at osis and not bailing to kicks during his runs. Nice! Stephen seemed to struggle with his stepping sets a bit today which is rare. He hit many nice runs though and I remember a nice barfly>barfly and a textbook fog. He is hardcore and kept shredding after Michael and I took off so he probably got some good skooling in. It is hard for me to remember what I hit but I do recall a run with bedwetter, pdx. blender, and spinning whirl in it that was cool. I did PS whirl > symposium whirl first try and bsos mobius first try. Highlight for me was getting 75% through my 20 unique geniune combo which I hope to hit soon. Overall, a very pleasant time kicking with the hommies.

Kyle Zender is the man! Hey Kyle, let's see some footage of you guys, I just got Final Cut Pro, so I am going to do a team vid on our end. Good to see you are still up in it. I bet Stephen Barnes is rocking out as well. Last we kicked, you were shreddin' really hard, you should let some people see it! And oh yeah, come out to Portland sooner or later, it's always good to see the Z man shredding and improving...makes me proud (sniff sniff). Much love to the Colorado crew.

LOL @ that picture. I actually made the orange remnants look frightened/sad (note the single tear).

Truth. Maybe someday we'll figure something out, but no dice for the time being.

However, in the very good news category, I got a new (to me) car today! The Z is rolling in a 2001 Camry LE. I also just splurged on a Line 6 DL4 (delay/echo/loop) pedal for my guitar rig. I'm teaming that fucker up with my DD-5 and I predict tastiness of the highest degree!

Hockey season starts next week too, which means I'm back to getting paid to watch Avalanche games - heaven!

Huzzah!

Bout time!

I actually played today during my free period. Not too much was hit, but I think I finally learned something about atomic, hitting legbeater>ripwalk>blur both sides. I also came dangerously close to parkwalk>sidewalk>ripwalk>blur rpt again, on both sides.
Other than that, just some decent strings. Hit steppingducking shit midstring... scorp tail midstring....
My shins were really feeling it, though. I think I'll go work out tomorrow.

I played like garbage today. I hit legbeater>ripwalk>blur repeat for the first time, and that was it, and my knees sorta hurt. *drinks ibuprofen*

Oh and this evening I went and got some AWESOME new shorts (hurrah), and some new insoles (FINALLY). I've been rocking the same Spencos for over two years. So the new ones feel great.

I drilled pretty much nothing but atomsmashers for an hour today. I hit them both sides, several times. I footed it back to back, on both sides. So that's pretty cool.
But I hate it when I spend a whole session trying to hit one thing (atom>atom) and never actually hit it. So disappointing.

I like how no one ever comments on our blog (ahem).

Smashers are fun, glad to hear you're working on them and that you got some new Spencos. Man...I violently stubbed my right foot on a fretless bass case a few days ago and haven't even tried to shred since. Totally sucks. It isn't a serious injury though, and I should be able to kick in a day or so. I had a sweet session right before the incident too where I had flipside symp. whirl all sorts of dialed, so I'm excited to play.

If I lived in D-Town I'd go to this. The 19th looks like it'd be way fun.

Meh, I didn't think that movie looked all that good.

I just had a session.
Highlights:

-atomsmasher>legbeater bs
-spinning clip>ripwalk repeat
-sealed mobius finally
-parkwalk>sidewalk>ripwalk>blur>parkwalk>sidewalk>ripwalk>blur(!)>paradon>ducking DROP! So short of 10 tripless, once again.
14 rips, then 15. I've figured out a pretty sweet breathing pattern for doing consecutive ripwalks.

Aaaand, I'm really horrible at my flip paradox whirl. I tried it like a million times, hitting it like twice. Hit pdx whirl>rip>rip>pdx whirl, which was cool.

I had a solo session today for the first time in about a week. My toe didn't let me forget that I smashed the shit out of it last week, but it didn't bother me much either. I felt really slow, mostly because I hadn't played in so long and footbag is pretty much my only outlet for exercise (other than disc golf). So I pretty much just drilled basics and concepts on both sides. Lots of stepping and whirls/swirls. Favorite thing I hit was symp. whirl > pdx. drifter bsos. That is about it for tastiness, though. I'm going to try a short session tomorrow if I have any energy left from disc golf. I'll drop in with the highlights.

I got in a session with Hill today. All kinds of rust coming off both of us, but it was fun. I tweaked my right foot/ankle a bit early on and it took me a while to warm up afterwards. Here are things I remember:

Hill:
- outside set whirling outside > op dragon > butterfly > run
- far outside > op dragon rpt. (this one looks cool)
- 3 ripwalks
- a grip of legbeaters
- clip > ducking clip rpt. > run with ripwalk

Z:
- stepping ss mirage > pixie ss clip rpt x2
- whirl > swirl x2 bsos
- blurry whirl > blurry whirl (a few times)
- blurry whirl > ps whirl bs (nearly bsos)
- pdx. torque > pdx. torque (first try!)
- some good guiltless (~)20 contact runs

The ol' legs will be sore tomorrow but it was a fun session.
