Yes, but due to the fact that by the definition of symposium you can't have a symposium butter, legover, or pickup. You don't land on the other foot if you were to do a symple butter. I might've worded some stuff wrong for my explanation of a symple butter up there, but I suck at wording tricks on modified.Paul Agostinelli wrote:that would be symposium.
symposium = jumping dexing landing all on one foot, catching on the other
symple = jumping dexing catching all on one foot, landing on the other
¿"Symple"?

you can have a symposium butter and you cant have a symple butter.
symple butter would imply that you dex and catch with the same foot. which you dont with a butter. you can have a symple butterfly swirl. you can have a symposium butterfly (though it doesnt get a symposium add because it isnt a full dex) because you jump off of, dex, and land on the same foot.
in theory you can have a symposium legover (flailing same toe) and you can have a symposium pickup (symposium miraging same toe)

What is this? A centre for ants?
Symple butterfly explained in detail...
setting off right toe to finish on right foot clipper.
Set the bag up. Do not plant right foot. Hop off left foot like a flail and begin to dex the bag. Plant right foot. Plant left (dexing) foot and lift right foot off the ground. Stall footbag on right foot clipper.
I think I've hit pixie symple butter and symple ripwalk using this technique.
This move is defintily possible - I have hit it. This discussion about symple has come up many times in the 4 years I've been playing footbag and I think I have a very good understanding of what symple and symposium mean. I think I've said that already in this topic.
You can theoretically do any move symple or symposium. Symposium is when you hop over the bag - dex it and land on the dexing foot. Moves like symosium pickup or legover usually are hit crispy style with an uptime symposium set. Symposium butterfly is a very old move that used to get a symposium add but doesn't anymore - it is still definitely not a symple move unless hit how I described at the top of this post - although for some reason many people call symposium butterfly - symple butterfly. This is the wrong name for this move.

entirely my point. you're right, symple butterfly can be done, but i highly doubt that the person who started this topic has ever hit it, or ever seen it hit. and if they had seen it hit, they probably didnt notice the change in footwork, and if they had, they probably mistook it as a mistake.Jeremy wrote: ...although for some reason many people call symposium butterfly - symple butterfly. p.s. this is not a center for ants, this is a rehash of the rehabilitation seminar for the criminally repetatively redundant.

Actually, the person who started this topic didn't know what it meant.Chema wrote:What does Symple mean? Is it like Anti-Symposium?
I'm not sure what Anti-Symposium is either
