Question 1:
If you knew a woman who was pregnant, who had 8 kids already, three who
were deaf, two who were blind, one mentally retarded, and she had syphilis,
would you recommend that she have an abortion?
Read the next question before looking at the response for this one.
Question 2:
It is time to elect a new world leader, and only your vote counts. Here are the facts about the three candidates.
Candidate A -- Associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologists. He's had two mistresses. He also chain smokes and drinks 8 to 10 martinis a day.
Candidate B -- He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps until noon, used opium in college, and drinks a quart of whiskey every evening.
Candidate C -- He is a decorated war hero. He's a vegetarian, doesn't smoke, drinks an occasional beer and never cheated on his wife.
Which of these candidates would be your choice?
Decide first ... no peeking, then scroll down for the response.
Candidate A is Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Candidate B is Winston Churchill.
Candidate C is Adolph Hitler
And, by the way, on your answer to the abortion question:
If you said, "YES!" ...
you just killed Beethoven.
Pretty interesting isn't it? Makes a person think before judging someone. Wait till you see the end of this note! Keep reading ...
Never be afraid to try something new ...
Remember ... Amateurs built the ark ... Professionals...built the Titanic!
And Finally ... can you imagine working for a company that has a little more than 500 employees and has the following statistics:
29 have been accused of spousal abuse
7 have been arrested for fraud
19 have been accused of writing bad checks
117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses
3 have done time for assault
71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit
14 have been arrested on drug-related charges
8 have been arrested for shoplifting
21 are currently defendants in lawsuits
84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year...
Can you guess which organization this is?
Give up yet?
It's the 535 members of the United States Congress.
The same group of idiots that crank out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line.
They had this thing around campus before the election last year and I found it again and I figured it'd be a hoot.
Personally, I chose B (Winston Churchill). I like his style! I don't really care about the Congress one that much because I don't hold them in high regard. After all, they are only human. Kinda a mindbender.

Definately interesting, but you have to admit the questions are very pointed. When I read the 3 presidential candidates one it was obvious that you were supposed to choose the third one.
Still, it does prove a point.

I fail to see an intelligent point. Is the point that a narrorly focused and specific question can be misleading? Who does not already understand this?

This is manipulative pseudo-intellectualism at it's finest/worst. It's depressing that it has an impact.

The "decorated" means he won the Iron Cross (I'm not sure if he won the 2nd or 1st Class), but last I knew, the Iron Cross was an honor to hold. I do agree with most people that this is kinda redundant, but fun, anyway. Hey, I didn't make this damned thing, I just found it on the internet again.mahhkohh wrote:hi...i just wanted to get some things straight.

Oh yeah, Adolf was a Lance Corporal in the Bavarian Army. It translates roughly to a Private First Class in the Army or Lance Corporal in the USMC; not exactly at the bottom of the barrel, but pretty close. It could've been the bottom of the barrel for the German Army at that time, though. I'm not too sure on their old ranking system.

Actually, he was a dispatch runner in the infantry and was awarded the First Class Iron Cross, which is a rarity for footsoldiers then. He didn't award it to himself. Ironically, a Jewish lieutentant did. There's todays history lesson.mahhkohh wrote:hm...yeah he might have been something like that,i dont even know the actuall german ranking system!being unable to go to the army sucks sometimes!*lol*

No offense taken, but from someone's point of view, certainly not mine, Hitler was a hero.

Yeah, its a clever little questionaire. I've already heard of these comparisons between the leaders of the Axis and Allies.Candidate C -- He is a decorated war hero. He's a vegetarian, doesn't smoke, drinks an occasional beer and never cheated on his wife.
About that "never cheated on his wife" non-sense, though, Hitler actually never married until the very end days of his life. Eva Braun was his girlfriend of many years, but they were not married until Berlin was besieged and they were hiding in bunkers full-time. It sounds to me as though he married her just to sort of tie up a loose end before taking his own life.
Anyway, I think its rather unfair to say "Candidate C never cheated on his wife" when in actuality he didn't have one.
I've also heard that his vegetarianism has been over-stated. He was a vegetarian for a brief time but did not stick with it.

I would never ever vote for a world leader if I didn't know their policies. Certainly I would not vote based on the private lives of politicians and I really detest the way people think it is relevant to an election - although we do have a vastly different system in Australia to the US.
Regarding the ark statement I would reword that in two ways.
Remember... the ark was built to save life on Earth... The Titanic was built for money.
But I prefer:
Remember... The ark is just a myth... The Titanic actually existed.

The ark was probably never built
