Last night I went to see Monty Python and the Holy Grail at the Guerilla Drive In (which is an outdoor movie showing that happens every two Fridays over the summer and goes until it gets too cold/wet. The movie is projected onto the side of a large building.). It was great. There were film shorts before the movie... The first one was a video from Burning Man 2005. Next was a clip from here. Oh yeah, and they had this song (I really like this version)<---Click on the album cover to listen to it) in a video with images that backed up the lyrics really well. And this (click on the video) is the only other thing I can find. Check them out if you have time. The next movie is going to be Dark Days which I hadn't heard of but some of the people I was with say that they've heard good things about it. It looked interesting.

While searching for those, I found this.

Tonight I played with Santa Cruz's newest freestyler, Fletcher Funk, who is way better than I expected him to be. (...that's a compliment.

)

Fletcher hit:

-more than 40 consecutive toe stalls
-mirage easily on both sides all session
-worked on legovers which he hit bsos once or twice
-clipper on both sides for the first time
-clipper>ss clipper x3
-clipper bsos a few times later in the session. (yay!)
-pixie for the first time (bs.)
-pixie>mirage>pixie>mirage

I did a few okay strings and worked on stepping. Fletcher say me hit blur again but I can't hit it in a run yet. I came really close to hitting flip.

Anyway, it was a way fun session.

I just found out that tonight's the Full Moon party. 30 miles away on the beach, sound system all set up, doesn't start till 1am. I'm so down. I'm so not opening tomorrow morning.

I just got home from the party last night. On the way home we picked up two hitchhikers. Then after I dropped everyone off I picked up another one. Her name was Emily and she loved me.

Later (after I get some sleep, I hope) I'm going to Steve Goldberg's house to kick with him and Dustin. It'll be nice kicking with just the two of them.

Two nights ago I got about 5 hours of sleep before getting up for work around 7:30am. Since I didn't get to sleep for real until 8:30am this morning, I was super tired andslept until 1:45pm. That would have been fine except I was suppoesed to be at Steve's at 2pm, and he lives 45 min away. I was only half an hour late. We kicked for about an hour then we played 2-square for a while. Dustin was doing atomic sets, which I hadn't seen him do before. I played really poorly but that's no surprise after the way I treated my body this weekend. After I left Steve's I realized that it was 5pm and I hadn't eatten anything all day. Stupid.

I wanted to kick today so I called or talked with 8 people! Chances are only three of them will be able/willing to come out tonight, but dang it felt good to invite so many people out. Watch out Chicago, soon our club will be bigger and better than yours! And by bigger and better, I do not mean in size or total skill.

Now why does that sound familiar... Oh yeah, that's what I hear when footbaggers ask me where I started kicking.

Tonight we had a nice session at the San Lorenzo tennis courts. I played with: (in order of appearance,) Fletcher, Jeremy, Amelia, and Nate (Dr. Ridiculous). Yay Santa Cruz footbag! I don't think I did anything worth mentioning. Others did, but I'll let them blog it up for themselves.

I'm not yet sure who is playing tomorrow, but some people are going to play in the evening. Maybe at the sweet Aptos spot at 5:30ish? Next Sat. I'm going to try to make it to Oakland to play with the Chaos club since they're having beginners sessions this month and I've never met anyone there. If anyone wants to come with me, you'd be more than welcome. Then Sunday should be freestyle then check out net.

Today after my gym class Fletcher and I met Jeremy at the sweet shred spot at the resort. I'm not sure what my problem was but during the session I wasn't into it as much as I wanted to be. I even don't know what I hit besides a bunch of ss clippers in a row on both sides. Since he can't started a blog yet, Fletcher hit toe dlo for the 1st and 2nd time (and he has been playing for less than two months). The sunset was beautiful. Tomorrow I have physical therapy.

I worked out then played footbag with Fletcher. I worked on clippers, infinities, illusions. Nothing new or hard, just fun skooling.

Friday I talked to some people I hadn't gotten a chance to talk with before or in a while. Yay footbag chat.

The weather over the weekend was perfect. Saturday was super fun. I went to Oakland (I keep wanting to say Oakton for no good reason... so if I say that, catch me please.) and played with the Chaos net crew. I hadn't met any of them before but I was on their e-vite list and asked them when the best time for a beginner to come out would be. They set up a practice series for this month where beginners are encouraged to come out. There are only a few names in Net that I know and PT Lovern is one of them so I was excited to play with and against him (teams). I met Will and Jared who are also Non-open level players and Lisa, Pat Keehan, and other people (whose names I don't remember but will put here later) who were all very nice. 10 of us total. Anyway, I suck at Net but it was really fun. Before I finished playing, CK and Bryan (:-)) came up and watched a game with me then we went and played a little freestyle but I quit after a few minutes so I could go eat dinner in the city. After a bit of traffic and great directions, I got there so Ahren and I grabbed some Thai food then went and met Tu at a show. The opening band was Send For Help which I found pretty bland. I really liked The Hermes (which is the band that Ryan Mulroney is in,) and the headliners, The Noisettes. The Noisettes' singer was awesome, and the other band members did not look like they would match her style but they were good together. I saw some of "No Direction Home: Bob Dylan - A Martin Scorsese Picture" which was interesting. I had never read or seen anything about Dylan as a person.

Today after lunch at The Pork Store, I was leaving the city and drove all the way up Stanyan St.- which I wasn't sure my car would do, but it did... and it was fun. Lazy wonderful Sunday. I came back to town (forgetting both my current lavers and running shoes that I play net in) and went to the park to watch net and play (a little). I felt really good because yesterday when PT lent me a Net bag I asked him for some good drills and he told me the basics to try with someone else, so I warmed Leni up today at net and after she played a game she said that what we did helped a lot and that she could feel the difference during the game.

I played one net game today with Rob. I had two decent serves (basic luck) but besides that didn't do anything worth mentioning. Then I kicked (a little bit) with Fletcher.

Tuesday I went to Stanford's 19th Birthday Jam. Bryan, Dat, Dustin, Ben, Brian, Steve, the hack guy... whatshisname, and gorgeous surfer boy (WAY out of my league) who just played 4-Square. I was there to head up publicity. I got the e-mails for 1 girl and a few guys who wanted to learn/attend. There was a woman taking pictures who agreed to e-mail me if she uses the pics of us in the campus paper. I did 11 infinities, which sadly is my record I think. Lots of shred, lots of 4-Sqare, and some good dinner too. Then I went to the city and got my (net and freestyle) shoes from Ahren and Tu's place.
