No footbag today. But I did go skating!!!
I havent been for a decent skate in so long. My deck is really crap and I got to use my brothers deck today. I can tell I improved a whole heap just from one day of not using such a gay deck. New stuff:
Kickflip!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally I hit this move rolling. It has been my ach nemesis move since I started skating. In total I hit 5 (all sealed with a roll away).
180 flip> roll away. First time I have done this in ages.
A huge ollie run. It had about 5 Ollie onto ledge> ollie off ledge combos in it. I was happy.
A phat arse 2 stair (I have done 5 before)
A nice shove-it
A gap about a metre long, clearing this parking block thing. (first shot after It took me half an hour to try :P )
Ollie off over over a wall 2 bricks high>drop about 3 or 4 bricks high.
A nice frontside 180.

All in all it was an awesome day of skating and I'm really keen to get back into it. Maybe I will quit footbag and skate it up.
I didnt stack at all either, only one small stack were I managed to bail nicely.

skateboarding is sweet. Screw footbag.

cya

Oh yeah, I hit bubbabeater last night. (finally) And flipside downtime eggbeater in shoes. But thats not important. Im a skater now.
Hopefully back one day.

Bubbabeater! Nice.

So you've decided to stop playing footbag, for skating? I'm sure someone, somewhere will miss you ;)

Squash Court session with Foxy tonight.
I had a few good runs tonight... nothing really to write about, but it's good to have a long(ish) run every now and again.
I really schooled my stepping tonight, not trying any atomic. I hit stepping same(and opp) legover both sides, and had some nice sidewalks.
Tripwalk > ducking osis > toe > osis > drop.
Thought about my symp whirls a little too and have realised that it's where I'm setting the bag that's causing the issue with my posture when I land - causing me to loose balance and controll.
Diving clipper>Ducking Clipper>repeat. Dropped on the second dive.
My ducks are getting stronger, but my dives are a little sloppy.
To be honest, I'm most impressed with how my steps went tonight. I think I'll focus on them a little more for a while, leaving my atomics out of the equation. Then, when I'm more consistant with my steps, I'll start working on them again.
I think I've been trying too much at once. Rather than working one set at a time, I've been trying too many and not really schooling any.
Before my big break I was pretty good at atomics (and steps), but since comming back, I've only really played with both with mixed success. I'm pretty confident that my atomics wont be a problem when I get back to them... it's the steps that need work.
Didn't hit Drifter tonight, but came close. I find it's very similar to how I should try barrage, so I don't want to over-do that, just yet. I also need to work my flipside.
I footed DLO about 3 times tonight, and am improving my technique for torque, too! (though, only on one side)
New record for opp osies (?sp) - 4.

Foxy wasn't really playing that well tonight. He did have one really good, long run, but he keeps bailing to a toe far too often. He's comming close to spinning diving osis, but I'm not sure how clean the whole move is. The set is very high, and his diving is 'downtime'.
His problem is that he's not schooling. He's all over the place during a session, trying this and that, and some of it is out of his league (of which I'm also guilty of doing  ), at the moment.
I've tried to tell him that he's trying too hard on his steps, too! When he attempts ripwalk, he puts soooo much effort into it, and his dex is late. His motion is as though he's trying ripped warrior. But he's schooling his opp clippers a little, so that should help to bring him some confidence in his ability to set the bag from a clipper into that opp clipper position. However, when he tries blur, his set is perfect! I don't know what more I can tell him. I think we need another video camera session, soon.

No Caroline - she called me on the way to Foxys and said she wouldn't make it.

Luke didn't even return my SMS. I doubt we'll be seeing much of him any more, unless he's super keen and practicing on his own (but I think that's unlikely).

I've got Saturday off, this weekend, but am going down to the 'Speed On Tweed' to watch my friend's dad race his Lotus 23! That should be good.
And Saturday night I've a party to go to. Lots of fire twirling stuff is gonna be happening, but I doubt anyone will have a fire hack
I don't know what to make of the party... silly self-mindfucking going on up top. There's a little history with the girl who's having the party, so I'm not going to drink because I don't want to go emotionally stupid like I have before with her. (I often play out these silly little scenarios in my head that that usually gets me worked up over nothing)
Still, I might take my lavers and my old Colorados (if I can find them) in case of fire or normal hack.
Oh, and maybe a 6pack of Cascade lights ;)

That's all for now. It's 20:50, and I've got to get up at 05:30 tomorrow

Hey Jesse,
glad to hear your still into skating. They just built this new skate park near my house and it's awesome. Banks, bowls, two half pipe bowls connected by a spine, rails, ledges, it's got everything.

I've been skating there every sunday for a couple of hours before footbag.

When you come down for next years champs we will have to skate it.

Even if this thread does fall off the first page (Took some time to work out what you were saying there, Jesse), I was the first person to post in the stickied 'blog highlights' thread, at the top of the page.
therefore, if you want to find the BCS blog, just go there and follow the links ;)

But, asside from that...
What's gotten into the world?
Caroline called me today, asking if I was keen for a shred? She was looking to make the most of the beautiful weather, today.
Unfortunately, I was working :( so nothing happened.

Might be having a session with Foxy tonight (but I doubt it).
Otherwise, I might have a solo in my garage - school my steps some more.

Just had a solo session in my bedroom.

I schooled a little, hitting some ok ripwalks and a symp whirl or two.
I really only mucked around, spending lots and lots and lots of time trying something a little different. I'll post a video up soon... just got to upload it and edit it.
Yeah... something a little different.

Your legs are to fat to do clean whirls.

Nah jokes, they look fine to me man. Just get a video of your whirls from different angles.

I would have to say that Alex is probably the only other person (besides myself) who is able to comment on Jesse's whrils - having seen them in the flesh.

They're good.

No doubt.

Jesse, I'll give you a call through the day, but the basics are... 7pm at Southbank Piazza.

"To say you're good at a clipper trick you have to be able to step out of it"

Jesse's whirls are very clean and the dexes are super good. JUst when you land cushion and keep the clipper close to you so that you can hit ripped warrior out of it!!

Gareth is right - they are good, no doubt.

I shredded today, had a bit of a camera sesh. Nothing special was hit except some fat arse dexless runs. I hit a nice flip spinning whirl on camera aswell but it wasnt filming..grrrrrr. So I went back out and hit it first shot. My whirling vid will be done soon. Then I sat back on the computer, had some lunch and went for a small skate. I was schooling my kickflips and I wasnt going inside until I hit one. I hit a super smooth one (probably my best) and went inside.

I smell like the pubic hairs on a dog. Better take a shower....
Hopefully back one day.
