I had to drive out to pick Foxy, and then double back and drive around and around, looking for a park at Southbank tonight.
Caroline had called me about 5pm asking if I could bring some footbag DVD's in (a very good sign), so I gave her Sick 03, The Move, and a DVD full of downloads. Hopefully that helps to get her motivated.

A good night for all, I must say. Caroline was already in before Foxy and I arrived. There was no fucking around for me, though. I got straight into it.
I mixed it up some, tonight. Last nights schooling session helped, although I didn't have much luck hitting that cool/weird combo that I first hit last night (video comming soon

), although they both got the idea, and I did come very close. It's just a hard set.
I had some good long runs (for me), although I'm not counting contacts or guilts or whatever. But I was happy.
And I had some alright combos. I've been working out some Sick 3 ideas for Aus champs, and some of the links are a bit tricky for me at the moment. But it won't take too long untill I nail it.

Here's a thought!
I worked this out tonight.
Once is a fluke.
Twice is a coincidence.
Three times is a pattern.
Four times and it's owned.

Well, tonight, foxy moved beyond fluke and moved up to a pattern when it comes to hitting Stepping far Dyno (does it get a paradox?), hitting it for the second and third time ever, tonight. He footed a fourth attmept, but each time there was no doubt. Super clean! His second for the night included a run that incorperated a DLO and some mirages!
He got super props for that.
And then... to blow me away, he busts out a spinning butterfly (twice!) and footed spinning mirage. He's really getting a hang of his spins and had two healty attempts at flipside mobius (strong side spin, flip side torque).
It's also good to see him getting his ducks and dives down, really tight.
There was a time when every attempt I'd be calling 'The!', but now... I don't even need to say it, unless he asks. And now it's only the odd one that's thin or not ducked at all.
His right groin has been playing up, so he vowed not to hit ripwalks tonight or flipside steps.
So he nailed some superb blurs, with stepping sets that would make even Vasek proud! It's funny how he can get a perfect set for Blur, but when he tries ripwalk... it's god awefull

Caroline was pretty keen tonight. She seemed eager to learn some more lingo - having spun her out explaining what Mullet is. She's seen my attempts, but didn't understand the description.
At the moment, her main problem is her self consiousness. She's almost always wearing 3/4 length shorts that are constantly getting in the way of her mirage and pixie attempts.
There was a time when she wore bike pants to shred it. It was so much better because she'd never snag the bag, and would show great improvement on a regular basis. However, she struggles hitting even one mirage at times.
However!!!
She did hit Mirage Beesause, and got props for that!
I'm not good at giving compliments - but Caroline is a very attractive woman and shouldn't be afraid to wear short shorts or a more suitible shirt when it comes to playing footbag. I know that when she starts hitting more tricks, she's going to go harder.
She's talking about comming down to Melbourne with the rest of us for Aust Champs!!!

That's pretty much all.
We were joined by Jemma for a circle kick toward the end of the night and I felt a bit bad when I decided to call it quits and she wanted to keep playing. She used to own an 'Elemental' footbag (by Lotus) but it's got a hole in it and she can't use it any more. She's just a circle kicker and I have to watch how she treats my 32P, but she's cool otherwise. Good with Diablo and Devil sticks.

Anyway... we've been talking about a Thursday night shred again, with Caroline being a 'most probably'!

But now, it's 2303 and I've to get up about 0600 to take my sister to the airport tomorrow.

Well last night was quite an amazing night, jade my mate came around for a shred and we would of been going for at least 2 hrs hard. It was his second session ever, his first went for 20 mins and was due to him losing all his money at cards. He has already got lavers, (got them of benni isbel). I gave him challenges all sessions. These are the ones he completed.

10 consecutive toe delays.
5 consec inside delays.

Craziness. As i was watching him, i was thinking to myself it took me roughly a month to start hitting those. But then i also had no teacher etc etc. But it was freakin amazing. I played really well hitting some nice long runs with some nice combos in there. I have got my drifters consistent now. Next concept i am going to drill is spins.

It is highly probable that jade is going to come to brisbane and melbourne as well.

I was nowhere near hitting spinning clipper (even though i have hit it before) , but i think i figured out my footwork for it.

So fingers crossed i will get it sorted.

the flip whirl looks better dex. strong is a bit more vertical but its still pretty good.

The landings and bending of knees for just whirl trick is great and excellent and no doubt you can step out of it. Make sure you do that for the harder tricks too.

Other than that, they are lookung great!

YOur whirls are fine jesse, i am no pro on the subject but.

I worked on my spins last night. I was hitting them comfortably both sides by the end of it. Just a question for when you guys learnt spins. When you learnt spins were they pretty slow to start with, because my balance and everything is fine, just the spin speed is a little slow.

Oh yeah i bought a video camera last night.

Thanks for the advice Gareth, although i basically just bought the cheapest one i could get. It cost me $680, 20 X optical zoom, and it also has a built in microwave to cook fish fingers, and pasta.

Hagesy, what model did you get? By the 20x optical zoom Im automatically thinking its a canon. I am also hoping that Gareth told you to get a digital one (mini DV tapes) like he did with me.

I went to bed at 4am and slept right through till 12:10pm. And the cycle begins again.

EDIT: come to think of it...your camera may also be a sony. But i dont think i have seen any sony with 20x optical for that price.

Do you have a firewire port/cord for capturing/editing?

Hagesy, sounds sweet. The firewire port/cord could set you back around 40-50bux. Shop around for the cheepest option.

Had a shred last night with jade. It was his second real session, the challenge that he hit were

Atw(in)>mirage>Atw(out)>mirage (strongside)
Came close on flipside.

2 consecutive clipper on strongside.

I am unsure if he did this on flipside

3 consecutive mirage strongside
3 consecutive mirage flipside.

I hit some nice runs with some cool links.
