Design me a flyer - Win a free bag

Post by Jeremy »

So for those who don't know - there are some big demos coming up in Australia sponsored by Nestle.

I figure it would be great to have some professional looking flyers to give to people at these demos. The flyer needs to have the following information on them

http://www.ausfootbag.org
http://www.footbag.org

Apart from that - put whatever you think is useful. I'll send a free o'wheel bag to the person whose design I use (if I use anybody's design) The cut off date for the flyers is October 10th. Feel free to email me any questions.

Would you like us to incorporate Nestle into the design? or would that be frowned upon?

Even better - put the milo logo - http://www.milo.com.au

Skippy are you a kangaroo? I mean Dan - that's cool but I think more info about footbag etc. would be good :)

When's the due date for this? I got some free time after class tommorow, and I could sit down with some one on one with photoshop. :P

EDIT: Awww snap, I just read the thingy at top.

Mr. O'Wheel

Yeah I wasn't really sure what you had wanted to go on the flyer, so I figured I'd just put what you specified on there. I can fill it up pretty easy with that Nestlé logo and everything, but was there anything else you wanted specifically? I did the KICKASS logo, with help from Mosher, if that makes any difference.

I really, really want a bag.

And I'm really, really broke.

EDIT: And no, I'm not a bush kangaroo. But you're welcome to call me Skippy. Not only is it my board name, but it's actually been my nickname for several years now. In some ways, I've gotten more used to being called "Skip" or "Skippster" or "Skippy" even more than being called Dan...at least from anybody not in my family. Heh.

How about some info, like:
-contact info (phone, email, other?)
-club name
-weekly jam times/locations
-etc

This would make you more accessible to your audience and help them contact you, or just stop by if you have a set time every Tuesday, for example.

Yeah I was working on it tonight. I got the Nestle logo on there, but I don't particularly feel like making info up. If there's anything specifically that you want on there, I can do it.

Yeah, unfortuantly Australia is very very big and the demos are all around Australia - so we'd need to produce specific flyers for every area if we were doing that.

But yeah - I really like the designs but there needs to be more information about footbag on them I think. Maybe it's easiest if I make them myself with my complete lack of artistic talent but a better idea of what I want.

jeremy why dont u provide a draft or a base of ur specified pamphlet so people can work around it including their artistic talents? That way, people will know what info to put on it and stuff.

I really really need a bag. Badly. I will create flyers, posters, t-shirt designs, even underpants designs if you want. I can do everything. Really.

I really liked the "have you ever tried..." design, regardless of whether it's appropriate for the Nestle gig. My only issue was the font... it looks like it's been written on with pen and smudged everywhere... and it needs a question mark as it's a question ;)

Okay jeremy i think that you should give us a more specific design. Like just make a little bit that you want on there and then we will include it in the design.

What size would you like this? Or what kind of flyer do you want...

That would help immensely.

yeah I mentioned the Africa thing when I first found out about the Nestle demo.

But frankly footbag is my life these days and I'm fairly comfortable putting promoting footbag ahead of my morals and ethics. Also if Nestle weren't sponsoring us they'd be sponsoring somebody else - so if we declined their offers I think it wouldn't really have any kind of lesser effect on their business. Also Nestle Australia is technically (at least for tax laws and stuff) an independant company to other Nestle companies.

Actually most of those are just attempts to justify my decision. I think the first part about putting footbag above my morals is the most accurate reason although I do feel uncomfortable about it.

Finally, personally I think given the choice of breastfeeding or drinking from a bottle I would choose breastfeeding - now I just need to find a girl willing to breast feed a 21 year old ;)
