Good news everyone ! Brad Nelson finally shred with me. I had a good 2 hour session with him, which was a nice change of pace. I finally hit a 10 tripless unique string which was a refresher to my game, also hit reverse whirling rake type of thing both sides, and a swivel. I believe that is all the good news on my end. I'll try to hit far swivel and some other variants of it. Also fairy/pixie/atomic SS torque is on the list of new moves I think I can hit, thanks to Brad. I thought 10 zulu clippers wouldn't be so hard, but I only hit like 5 of them, so I'm really far off of my goal...but eventually I shall nail them all. I also tried some Captain Morgan Tattoo tonight, a bit spicy for my taste...and I ate a raw egg for the first time, new trick !!!

I had a really good session at the park. good long strings. I don't THINK that i hit anything new but my blenders are finally coming around enough to be considered *gasp* controlled. also, i'm really happy that my paradox whirls are getting way more controlled. now i can actually go into it at about any time and be fine with a decent set. the way i'm doing blenders is still a bit more "uptime" than i'd like but they are at least being midstringed. I also had double dyno fly off my foot again. i don't think i'll ever land it smoothly enough to seal. *le sigh*

I'm kicking with John at the clinic right now. It's pretty fun being able to move around again. He's getting some good skills. Begin rant: I'm getting really fucking tired of having to start over each time I get injured. I don't know if my muscle memory sucks or if this happens to everyone. Each time I'm out for a few months for my knee, ankle, back - whatever, I lose so much of what I practiced to gain. It seems that when I'm starting to reach my top level again, some stupid injury happens whether it's footbag related or not. Doesn't seem worth it to me. Like tonight, I'd think of a combo and believe it's not hard because in my head it seems like something I could do or I've done it before. I try it and realize it's way too hard for me. When I string, my body can't keep up with my mind.

Anyways, I'm glad I can kick again. I'm just frustrated.

I came back after 4 months of injury, almost at the same level I was at when I stopped. I think the main thing I did to help this was continue to constantly watch and analyze footbag videos, and constantly breakdown strings in my head while I was injured. I think when I was finally able to play again, my muscles were at the same level, because of it constantly going through my brain... which is what controls my muscle movements....

Not as coherent as I would have liked, but I hope it helps.

I don't think it works that way. Thanks though.

John hit whirling swirl today which I believe completes all the moves in Tricks of the Trade for him. Horrah!

I just had the greatest session ever !! or close to it atleast. Highlights were finished with nice guiltless 20 plus string, hit 5 new moves. I can't really remember the 5th one at the moment, but I hit pixie ss torque both sides, fairy ss torque both sides, and..oh yeah, whirling swirl :D I also had paradox drifter > paradox torque repeat off my foot, it was sooooo close, if I would have just moved my leg over just a tiny bit I woulda nailed it. I threw a pdx blender midstring, which is the 2nd time i've ever hit it, so that was cool. I also hit reverse whirling toe stall > pixie clipper > reverse whirling pickup and a reverse whirling toe stall on the flip side in that pdx blender run. Thanks to Nathan for givin me the idea fo the reverse whirling toe stall. If anybody like hittin the pickup style, try toe stall, very styley.

School is starting tomorrow and to keep my moral high for school and shred, I bought myself a lil something. I'll post a pic of it when it comes in 8) Oh, I think I found the secret of playing well, wear a wifebeater, lol. I bought a couple to wear under a dress shirt for a wedding. I shred in it today, and it was awesome !!! It's tight, light, just feels free around your arms. If I shred like I did today next time with my wifebeater, I'm going to shred religiously in them like lavers and shorts.

Well, all I can say is I think my game is going to increase cause having music with me zones everything else out except for me and the footbag. I just played a good hour at city park and sweated all I had to sweat, given I'm prolly dehydrated from drinkin all that beer and sake last night. I'm gonna shred after work too cause Brad will most likely want to...and I'm already excited to shred again. I'm still cooling down from my last session yet I'm ready for more :-)

I would highly recommend the iPod shuffle to people who like to kick with music. I like listening to music in shuffle mode anyways, they're super light, aaand cost half as much as the other ipods...you can't beat that ! Oh, and of course if you want to spend a shinier penny, iPod Nano is bomb.

Pretty sweet session. Brad and I drove around lookin for somewhere new to kick. We played in the K-mart center, infront of some nail place. Shin splints were there, but minimal. I hit 3 new moves I believe. Spinning pickup both sides and far swivel ! I'm just so excited that I can shred where ever with music now...it's so energizing. For whatever reason, I am now learning how to spin after 4 years of denial to that concept. I've always loved spins, but could never do them. It opens up a whole new book of moves, so I'm hoping maybe I will be able to hit some things like vortex, void, spinning ducking, and things like that. This is the first time I think I've actually learned it, because many times I might have it a bit for one night and then the next month I won't be able to spin. So we'll see how that goes...

For health reasons, I'm gonna try not to drink this weekend...and hopefully get out of the partying myself out every Sat... We'll see if I can do it, but I think my body is getting quite aggrivated with all this abuse.

Showed brad the nano, and I believe he approves except for the headphone jack is on the bottom of it instead of them top. I'm pretty sure it was placed there due to how small the size is and the screen would take up all internal space at the top of the nano.

I was really sick today so I slept all day. I feel better now. I had a dream that all my friends and I flew down to New Zealand and did all kinds of fun stuff. Then the next week, the Footbag World Champs were there. I hate waking up

I first kicked today inbetween classes where I go to school. Thank goodness I had my nano cause I felt so very out of place shredding at school. I usually don't mind kicking just about anywhere, but where i go to school, I just feel like they have no clue what the hell I'm doing...I don't know, pretty much it's a bunch of hick/redneck/conservatives/in the bible belt...OKOK, i'm stereotyping my school. Aaaanyways, I think I could have competed for most sweaty shredder vs the ever sweaty bob glasser/nasty nate/sam c./and all the other big hitters. I wish I would have had a longer break cause I didn't have enough time to dry off

Later, which was actually a couple hours ago, I shred with brad at PHS (Parkersburg High School) and WOW it was wierd. I haven't been in high school for a couple years and going back to kick there was like a big trip back in time... Except I could actually shred !!! My shin splints in my left leg were somewhat apparent, but not too bad. I've noticed a lot of strength coming into it, so I'm not really worried about these minor aches I've had in my leg. I'm pretty sure it's just my bone adjusting to the muscle growth in my calve area due to the harder shred I've been doing. I've really gotten steady shin splints for a long time after my surgery on my left side because of the progressive strength gains. I remember back in the day my right leg was just like that. I could play hard on it cause I never had problems or had to have surgery, so I got shin splints soon enough cause I couldn't really play on my left leg. So having these now in my left leg is GREAT !!! It just shows that I can play hard on it.

oh yeah...shred... Well, today my ps whirls were as solid as I've ever felt them. I felt very light on my feet, and I felt like I could hit just about anything out of it. I almost hit flip ps whirl, which is one of my dream moves because I know once I can hit that, I've come a looooong way with my left leg. I had the motion of a symposium whirl tonight, and even that got me really excited, more excited than hitting new moves. When I felt my leg actually do a movement close to what it was supposed to be, a new concept just flew threw my leg, it was great :D I also hit flip pixie ss Symp mirage. That is just really hard for me to get the footing cause I just automatically go into the move without the symp... uhhh...I also hit matador > ps whirl first try. I'm going to start learning nuclear moves to up the caliber of moves to do. I noticed that if you have strong drifters, you should have the potential to have strong nuclear sets. I've always noticed that my weak side...which is the side I first learned, is now somewhat slower compared to my stronger side drifter. And now that I'm learning nuclear, I feel the exact same thing. I learned it on one side (slower side) and now I'm picking it up with my stronger side, and it feels much quicker while the other side lags a bit.

I know this entry is gettin a bit lengthy, but one last thing ! I can't wait for Bobby G to come in this weekend. I haven't seen him for a while, and I'm gonna treat it like an event, haha. I'm gonna let my legs rest for a couple days to shred hard with him as much as he likes :P Shred on ~!!

Edit ::: Here is me with my nano from a shred session near Little Caesars !! Damn that pizza tasted delish after that session...

i know what you mean brad. i've had back problems and ankle problems for the past few months. It sucks having to take so much time off. It definitley has effected my game alot. I just hurt my back again at work on monday...so im out for another week again. im getting sick of it too.

Ok, i played again even though I said I'd rest my legs, haha. Tomorrow I'm not playing, but will whenever Bob gets back, soooo...Friday or Saturday. If we don't play Friday, my legs should be in 5th gear ready on Saturday.

Today Brad and I played at the Jackson tennis courts. I hit flip blurry whirl for the first time and was very very close to flip ps whirl. Sweeeet...my Beasts.avi of the cleaver just got done d/l'ing. So that's about all, good session overall. Spins are coming along after all these years, whirls are feeling much much stronger, I'd like nuclears to be a regular set in my game, blenders are still hard, and I need to increase string length...of course.

I'll start this post off with a great story, something that I'll laugh at for years to come. So last night we had a party here like usual, but it was a bit more special just cause we were celebratin my buddy's 22nd B-Day. I bought myself a bottle of Plum wine which was absorbed rather fast and my other friends had a ton of beer and whiskey sours. Soooo...Shaun, ...oh Shaun...He had a bit too much to drink, after pukin numerous times and completely trashed, he says " I have to shiiit soo bad. " Mind you , he is on the front porch puking, well, he stands in a bush on our front yard with his pants down takin a load off of him. Gross...it does not end there. I heard he was also up in our bathroom for about 2 hours with the shits, he crapped in our tub. Not only that, he made a mess other places.

So I wake up this morning and I see him curled up in the fetal position. I also notice his crotch is covered with a hand towel, and it has a shit streak on it, hilarious. He also has a nice lil backside smear on his shirt. Not only that, but after I sit up on the couch, I notice why that hand towel is on him, cause he has no pants or underwear on. I've been laughing all day at this whole situation, his new name is Crapoop.

Today's shred was horrible, mainly cause I felt like crap to start off with. I laid around all day, sleeping on and off. When I was up, I was laughing at Crapoop. So I hit a couple things, and gave up just cause I couldn't get out of the rut.

OKOK, so onto the list, I'm gonna just update this with colors.

......BOO !.......H a l l o w e e n - C h a l l e n g e

Red = Haven't hit ------------ Green = Hit it

ss toe whirl>bubba repeat
spinning butter>drifter repeat

Sessioned with Brad and for the most part, I was trying those challenges and doing drills which was pretty...challenging. I got a few done with but I still have half the list to go. I think tonight was the first time hitting a new move both sides in one string which was pretty cool - Symp. far reverse whirl - Well, I gotta get outta here and go talk to my boss about work, possibly quiting and going somewhere else for more hours, bummer...

Some goals I want to accomplish tonight:

Marius bsos
vortex<blurry whirl rpt
flip pigbeater
rubberman 2

I've done a couple of those before, but it was a long time ago so I have to learn them again. If anyone wants to add something to my list, I'll give it a shot. :)
