every little bit helps

Post by logan »

besides removing the inside, outside, and toe area canvas, I recently decided to try removing some of the thickness on the tongue of the shoe. It was pretty successful. It makes the lavers a little lighter, and every little bit helps.

has anybody else come up with any ideas to make your lavers lighter?

I hollowed out the soles and filled them with helium.

Easier on my knees, too.

yeah I've done the exact same thing - basically I've removed everything possible from the inside of the shoes. Not sure if it actually makes a difference but it makes me feel more l33t.

Why not remove every possible part, except for stalling surfaces? You could use wire or string or something to hold the shape... :P

why have stalling surfaces at all? take off the mesh and inner layer, and use you socked foot, maybe with some very thin netting over to stop the bag from going into your shoe.

i DO actually take out the insole completely...when i first put on my lavers i was so used being really close to the ground, literally with my feet flat to the earth. naturally lavers felt like high heels to me, so i took out the insole completely. im more worried about not being comfortable than hurting my shins, etc.

I took out the laver insole and put in a specos insole, because I love them so much for running, they work just as well for footbag. I suppose for competeing you might be better off with no insole, but for tranning I can't see how no insoles could be good for you.

Dr. Scholl's Memory Insoles + heel cushioning insoles

At least that's what I use for my Lavers when I finally took out the goddamn insole. Feels like heaven.

I'm thinking about drilling the soles of my Lavers to make for more added cushioning, or so I hear. Any pictured evidence on a mod like this? I've only seen it being disussed in a topic or two.

You could always go genzu and cut off the toe.

Or if you really want lightness, you could cut off all the fabric and and just ducktape soles to you feet :)

Y'know, it just struck me. How about Lavers with the Shandal mod, but taking the mesh and canvases of both sides completely out and using a thin netting like you would find in Climacools!? That would be freakin' awesome.

Or, y'know, just plain Lavers with the thin netting on both sides and the toe. Pretty cool to see your feet through the translucent material. :)

it seems like if they were made of that material the shoes would rip to useless ness by your third or sixth session, but it's worth a shot.
