I will self serve only with the encouragement of my circle-mates. I never self serve after a run.....only if i'm trying a hard single trick and whoever is next says "Try it again".
Otherwise self serving sucks.

I dont think I've posted in this topic either because it says I havn't voted yet. Normally, I am against self serving except for the reason above. Sometimes me and my brother play "two tries". During this weekend I was kicking with some new kids and one of them asked me what I could hit, this is another acceptable reason to self serve.cclaudia wrote: now, its not really that fair to have the bag for like 5 seconds in comparison to the minute long dropless runs some of the people make in the circle.... i often self-serve in this situation just so that i'll get SOME playing time! if i don't then i'll end up playing for around 5-10 seconds and watching other people playing for a good 5-10 minutes before it gets back around to me.

Typically, I do not self-serve. It probably stems mostly from the fact that I used to circle hack a lot. I still don't self-serve, unless I just want to try a move again real quick because I missed it. If I hit it, I won't even continue the string. That happens rarely anyway.
Most of the time, if I don't get the bag for very long, the person I serve it to will serve it right back, giving me a rebate. I find it's a better principle to not self-serve, as footbag should be about giving energy to others and trying to be as selfless as possible, especially in a circle.

Your next task: Go to the bathroom.
Wash your face.
Put your shoulders hunched upwards.
Look really, really slowly upwards towards the mirror like in the movies
And slap yourself in the face.
With your game face on.
And go shred with jim.
It'll work, trust me.
