I was a chronic blazer for like 5 years and quit about 3 -4 months ago. It was one of the smartest things I have ever done. There really arent any cravings and I found myself only ever really wanting to blaze when I was bored. Instead now I just read a book or try to do something productive. In a sense I transformed all that time wasted being stoned into doing something a lot more positive.

The whole setting a date thing is a very good idea in fact that was how I did it as well. Just make it a thing to smoke your last J and then no matter what dont smoke another one. The best way to quit is to just not smoke again, no matter what the circumstances.

WILL POWER BROTHER, GOOD LUCK!

that's for the encouragement, yea i was a chron for 5 years as well and boy did i ever realise all that time was wasted recently, i was more concerned with smoking the dope than getting/keeping a job or a girlfriend(it's a tad hard to have a girlfriend when all you want to do is get high).
but now i have much more energy and im much more aware of whats around me and much more awarew of myself and how i am, so i may as well put all this unused potiential to some good use before it goes away!
but i'll keep everyone updated on my progress through this thread as time passes.

I can't say that I've quit any drugs recently.

I haven't "quit" anything, but I've cut WAY back. It's still nice to be able to do some things socially or on special occasions. Moderation is the key. If you can't handle that then it's best not to do it at all I guess.

I agree with that.
Moderation is the key.
I still enjoy a little bit of this and that every now and again. But it's never going to come before my responsibilities.

However, sometimes it takes a big break (2 -3 months cold turkey for me) before you can get to that moderated state.

im so using that quote..

so far so good guy's, a few craving's here and there, but i've kept on the straight and narrow, im also eating alot more(which is weird because i thought i ate alot before, due to the munchies) so ill be up to 175 in no time(which is a decent weight for someone that's 6ft2, im at 1 55- 1`60 right now!

but yea, im thinking of breaking everything and going totally offf the wall retartedly gone on new years!..mainly because i can drink alot more on certain things..

I almost went a day without toking, then I got stoned at work with the other closers. Almost didn't have a drink for a couple of days, but I kinda ruined that one myself when I got off work last night and went across the street to Diamond Jim's...

Joe... so just quit :) It takes more effort to get high than it does to be sober. Try to find a better use for the money you spend on MJ, you could spend it on food or some snazzy clothes or anything you don't burn. If you feel a craving coming on get some exercise.. footbag, lift weights, do pushups, take a bike ride, make some food, clean up your house; just try to do something else you enjoy that is good for you in some way, and you'll forget all about getting high and wonder why you ever did it so often.

Switch to crack. I guarantee you`ll stop wasting money on pot, nor will you crave it anymore.

hahaha, i think ill just do it like once a month or less keep it to moderation just for social gatherings , and if your thinking of switching to salvia , I hate it, it makes me feel out of my body and makes me tired for like the rest of the day and fucks with me so thats not a alternative, thanks guys
