i played legball at RIT yesterday with Paul and Steve. I felt kinda bad for my man Steve because he hasn't played in a while, and I know how those first few sessions after a break can be, but he was hitting some cool tricks by the end. Paul and I stuck around for a while longer. I hit string > spinning clip X3> pswhirl > string, ps whirl> spinning osis (my first spin out of PS whirl that I can remember), and gyro twirl really clean. that was fun. i also hit some barraging sets. my hip wasn't in as much pain as it was before, but by the end of the session, it was stiffening up. I think I'll give it a stretch right now.

After the session, I went to MacGregor's and drank some drinks with Mike and a friend of his from work. We talked a lot of footbag and tried to explain vasek's pixie blind infraction to Mike's friend, but I don't think he got it. Then I came home.

Should be a new RFA video out soon, I'm psyched for that. Can't wait for KICKASS!!!

Today I was watching Rushmore and there was a scene with the main character walking down the hall looking at a note. It had a teacher's name on it, something like 'Miss Cross' or something. But I totally read it as 'Matt Cross' and laughed.

ah, good to hear from you all...

Josiah, I think I can do that. I know I can do that. I'll work on it.

Skippy, I like that movie. It was filmed at my friend Fallover's high school. His real name is Oliver, and he likes to get messed up. Incidentally, Max wears Lavers throughout the film.

Pete, it was so awesome staying at your place. I'll definitely be back. That was a great experience, and we had some awesome times / jams! I loved playing in DC, and partying with you and nasty every night! I didn't know he's back to lavers. I'm not, I love the clima style too much, so I think I'll get myself either another pair of climacool 1s or some nike presto Worlds. Those are pretty sweet, I had a pair once but they were too big. I think they'll play quite similar to climas.

Glad to see you're back online ;) sorry I broke the camel's back while I was there.

See all of you soon, I hope... Two of you, I know I'll see at KICKASS. Pete, get your ass up there! it's gonna be the fuckin shred party. We're gonna be doing it all, all night.

I can't wait.

Hey guys, I heard there's going to be some huge footbag session at RIT tomorrow, 2pm. Lots of sick shredders with crazy skills... we should check it out.

I even hear that chris dean from the RFA will be there, and he might bring a guest styler or two. See YOU there!

... can someone pick me up from the mall at 1:40?

i will do everything I can to make it to this session. If I'm not there when you start, just kick ALL DAY, and I'll make it there some time ;)

played the best gig of my life tonight. debuted my first footbag song, and people liked it. I'll record it soon for modified to hear, maybe use it on the next footbag video... I hit rev swirling frigid osis in pants. I also conceptualized frigid osis set symp swirling frigid osis. that would be cool. I just got in from a bar here in rome where I was hanging out with this guy that used to be my best friend. he hasn't changed much, still a great guy. his girlfriend has gotten cool, seems to have loosened up a bit...

anyway, can't wait for legball tomorrow, and KICKASS!!!

That was fun. One of the best sessions for me, and i'm sick as shit. I had at least 4 strings that were 30+ contacts, and about 5 strings that were 20+. I felt like I was in complete control but I just didn't have the strength/stamina to keep going being sick. I also hit flurry about 6 times, the first of which was witnessed by chris who said it looked clean and then the next 2 matt saw me miss both dexes on the barrage. The motion is all there just need to work on setting it a bit higher. My double downs are getting better.. which makes me happy.

New Stuff:
zulu torque
pdx miraging symposium reverse whirl

matador > blurriest > string > matador > blurriest > string
barfly, down double down, paradon, and double over down all in the same string...
and a couple decent attempts at flip paradon
barfly > barrage > paradon

I wish I could attest to the awesomeness of Zulu Torque... but I was turned away just as my request was busted... :( Luckily, Aric's awesome at legball, and that probably wasn't a one time thing.

Rochester Legball Faction!!! who wants to play today? I didn't play yesterday, and I'm all charged up to play for today. My left ankle is a bit sore from that ridiculous set I was trying the other day, but I think I can get it to butterfly real soon. and then mirage... sweet...

Yah Matt's set is pretty rediculous, I'm guessing he's waiting to hit something out of it to explain what it is.

Todays session was pretty crappy, once again my shin splints are trying to ruin me. I'm going to settle down and take it easy and spread out my playing time to try and rebuild my muscles, tendons, ligaments... Despite only playing about 20 minutes today, I did manage a lot of new moves..

New stuff:
weaving mirage both sides
gyro pickup both sides
paralax
toe grifter

blizzard > paradon (nothing too big, but cool for me)

Got some nice reinforcement from Matt and Paul on my spinning ducking which made me feel really good, because I know it looked terrible when I first started doing it.

holy crap, he's not joking about his spinning ducking. Aric's S-D was ridiculous tonight, he did a totally clean set to the perfect height, spotted the bag, and then did a perfect duck. On my first try, I did it, and it felt more confident and solid than anything I'd done spinning ducking before. I feel like I might even be able to get that montage in the near future...

Crosswanking... oh my god, that's perfect. It's definitely going to be crosswanking...

vee don't need no religion, vee just like to crossvonk. my friends and I get together and we put some music on and light some candles and vee crossvonk. vee don't need no television, vee just like to crossvonk.

sung to the tune of, raindrops keep fallin' on my head. thanks Manu. That's the kind of thing you hear when you're trying to buy headies in the middle of Kallio in Finnland. Kallio means The Rock, because that whole part of Helsinki is basically like one big rock, as the turf goes. Those guys were fuckin cool. I believe the other guy's name was Juusa. We did all the legwork together while Manu sang songs for Tom.

Worlds was fucking incredible. The best time of my life, ever.

the session with matt and aric today was basically nonexistant because i arrived just as matt and aric were quitting, so we consulted the coach, watched the end of euro-trip (how appropos haha) and then kicked a little. i dont remember anything specific except for a couple of the best strings ive ever had.

well i got back to RIT at just after 10:30, finished stitching a bag, and then naturally had to try it out. so i started kicking in the appt.

i finally hit PDX drifter, first try! and then again immediately afterwards
smoke (again) first try!
a couple of cool links but nothing huge. i was really happy about that PDX drifter. i ended up hitting it 6 times tonight, and once out of drifter.

further commentary... yesterday wasn't good... my hip definitely hurts too much, and I'm not going to play for a week. luckily, it doesn't hurt when i'm not playing, it's just the littlest bit sore, and it feels good when I stretch it. it needs a break, though.

I did manage some new moves yesterday, I did gyro pickup both sides, frigid twirl both sides, frigid set ss symp whirl both sides. I can't wait to try out some more spinning ducking like aric did it. I also had a few really clean crosswanking sets, paul and aric can attest. butterfly will follow soon.
