Steve Goldberg and I have been working to update the video gallery on .ORG. If all goes according to plan, there will be a nice collection of edited videos up and running by the end of this coming weekend.

It should be a big improvement over the dated compeetition footage that was the entire gallery beforehand.

whoa whoa whoa - footbag.org is going to have something to do with modern freestyle????

I thought it was just an archive of ye olde videos and a place where hackers talk about super jesters. :P

I wonder how long the real footbag community will stupidly gather on one hidden message board that is completely out of the eye of anyone new to the sport.

Props newf.

What type of edited videos?

No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.

Hahaha, I saw the Kennedy part beginning in "Ke" and Colin ends in "in" so thats how I got Kevin. Plus, they kinda rhyme! Was a good laugh though.

Sorry Ben, I gave the wrong impression. There's nothing new going up in the gallery - this is mostly an effort to have a higher percentage of folks discovering footbag for the first time peeing themselves.

It's also nice that the next time you try to point someone to footbag footage, you could potentially say 'footbag.org, video section' instead of 'modified.ca, it's a forum, check for recent posts in the video section that have a lot of replys. that should get you a good video!'.

edit: weird, you're both named ben.

I didn't think anything new was going up, I was just excited to think videos from more recent than 2 years ago will be on footbag.org. Especially since it's all in one place.

I don't know if you're taking suggestions, but I think Bila Lavice should be included somewhere that's easily accessable since much of the footbag community thinks it has some of the best quality shred of any video.

If I'm being stupid, just laugh at me and ignore my suggestion.

i´m afraid its gonna stay that way for another 2 years at least. same thing goes with vids... there is a LOT of stuff on the webspace that steve gives to ifpa-members... and then its only posted on mf. but when i post my vids in .org there will be someone directlinking in mf whithin hours. i don´t have a problem with that.
and also all the mods here and the beloved founder do a good job. so theres no real reason for ppl to switch or read 2 boards.

and thats pretty much the reason i hang around .org a lot too, tellin same sh... over mr. and mrs.sandbag again to noobs. depressing but needed. also they will remember you were sayin .com and here we are again.
depressing. and not neede at all.

but afterall its true, that .org needs to get some content-facelift.

.org needs some people with the skills and time to do the face lift.

Leave those n00bs in despair.

I posted a vid there once and it got zero replies. Still licking my wounds and crying myself to sleep at nights...

it would be good if people wold post over there from time to time .

just make one of your 10 posts a day over there and there is much more action on forg.

I guess there are many noobs who visit the forum and are like whoa the board of the world wide footbag site and then recognize that there are not many expierenced players over there .

unfortunately they got no idea about modified.ca and will stop playing footbag and so they leave the sport .

to the vids - I cannot remember when I downloaded a vid of forg when it was here before so it is quite clear I won't download or reply to your vid on forg.

it all depends on each person itself to read and post on org - so waiting that things change by only watching won't change much .

It doesn't matter for me where or when or how much you post here or at forg but for the sport in general it would be better to have the community over there (too)

my 2 cents

Ive thought about this.

Perhaps this system is good for one reason. It acts as somewhat of a filter, only the more hardcore people will take the time to check out all the links on .org and subsequently find modified.

There's a facelift coming down the pipes as well as other new features too.

I gotta say I'm always disappointed when the topic of .org comes up and everyone is so fucking critical and seriously lame about it. You people simply have no idea what's up.

maybe only hardcore people find out about modified- but what is good about this ?
people decide after a few days /weeks if they get into the sport .
people usually have to give up another sport and would be much more encouraged to this by knowing that there is an internet community where you will get much tips after a few hours . This is one criteria which counts for isolated footbag players like me and this is the reason for lots of people to stop them to get into footbag.
when you see a video the first thought is ohhhh what was that - amazing - where can I learn that ? and then it will encourage you to visit the board with much posts per day .

ask yourself when you found out about modified ?
In my case it was after a while and it was clear that I will stay in the sport .

this is some sort of filter this small sport cannot afford

I've been excitedly waiting for the facelift since I heard about it last year! Maybe then we can finally abandon modified and start posting there so we have one consolidated forum... Of course people are stubborn and that will never happen. :?
