Jorden Moir's Mom
So I was sitting at work and thinking, Jorden's mom must be pretty cool. Now, Ive never met her, but check this:
"Mom, can I go to Denmark this weekend? Some of my friends invited me to go play. Can I go?"
"Sure honey. Just remember to bring your homework with you to Denmark. And don't forget to pack a snack for the plane trip."
I mean, C'mon! Thats totally craziness. One day, your son is learning to play kicky-sack, and the next, people are offering to fly his ass across a frikkin ocean for free! His mom must be totally tripped out, but at the same time, cool about it. . .
What do you all think?

On many occasion, Sam C has had between 8-10 footbaggers at his house, spending the night, and about 12-15 at other times (not spending the night). Historically, she has allowed Sam to put up any footbagger, any time.
If youve ever been to Bryan Fournier's house, then you know what Im talking about. WHen I walk in the door, she asks how I am, whether Im hungry or thirsty. Basically, she goes out of her way to make sure any guest in her house is comfy. Sometimes that means making Bryan do a lot of work tho. For instance,
(mom) "Bryan, dont just stand there. Get your friend something to drink Im sure he's very thirsty. He's been driving two hours."
(me)"No, thats okay, thanks tho."
(mom)"Well, then get him something to eat. He must be hungry. Dont forget your manners Bryan."
And the CIC all says that Tim's mom is the best. Im not really sure why. I just hear that she is really nice. Maybe one of the CICers can further explain.

East coast homies back me up here: the coolest mom in footbag has to be Andrew Ivanyo's mom. Who else brings a blender and makes fresh killer daquris for the players party at events??? She parties harder than some players. Her work fueled alot of the insanity on Saturday night at Funtastik for sure. Plus she supports her son and takes him to events, and is super cool too.

Hey, this is Jorden's mom. I promise that this will be my only post ever, but I couldn't resist this topic!
Just to let you know that I totally enjoy the sport and I'm very proud of what you all do and how hard you work. Jord and I have a great relationship so I know how important footbag is to him and all of you. I'm so impressed by the skills and creativity! This is his passion so of course I support him. Keep on pushing the limits all of you. Cheers. Jo-Anne Moir

not a hyperbole. take it from me.the Executioner wrote: killer daiquris
also, I will attest to the coolness of Jorden's mom. I met her at GRASS, and she was totally cool with letting Jorden hang out and have a few drinks and chill with the older guys. Also, she drove him all the way to Rochester from Dundas! that's gotta be at least 4 or 5 hours, just for your kid to play kicky ball.
My mom and dad paid for me to go to worlds this year with airline miles. They used to drive me all the way to tournaments and hang out all weekend. My dad took 5 days to go to worlds 2000 in Vancouver, and hung out the whole time, even though I was not happy that he was there. My parents are the best footbag parents in my world.
BRICK!

That was pretty wicked awesome. Those dacquiris were translucent on the third run. I just couldn't figure how Jack could take it.the Executioner wrote:East coast homies back me up here: the coolest mom in footbag has to be Andrew Ivanyo's mom. "Footbag can be pretty frustrating when it's supposed to be fun. I was partly driven by this forum - practice, practice, practice... As that is true, I think someone can be too focused on progressing and training that they miss the fun aspect of it." - Bander87

I was supposed to hang at Ms. Moir's today. Didn't get a hold of Jorden ahead of time, it seems.

I guess, when you think about this...
"Hey Mom. These people that I met on the internet want me to go to Europe! They've been watching videos of me in the internet and would really like me to come and visit them in another country."
And Jorden's mom says "Ok!"
Now THAT is cool! A little disturbing, but cool.

What I personally consider a little disturbing is that most mothers rather would say no.
