What is the moral of this story

Post by Jeremy »

Ok, so my brother knocks on the door. His girlfriend goes to the door but doesn't open it and laughs at him looking through the eye thing. My brother says "if you don't open the door I'll punch it down" and then after a pause hits the door. His girlfriend is still looking through the eye thing and as such gets hit in the nose by the door (which doesn't break). She then lets him in but has a blood nose (not serious).

There was much debate about the moral of the story so I don't want to lead the debate at all and I have to go work.

I'm thinking about something... and there is a very high chance it has something to do with footbag.

I think you guys need a bit of guiding.

It's either what Ben said - don't punch doors or it's the other theory that you shouldn't put your nose next a door (because if the person has a key and opens it you'll get hit too)

Using your fists to bloody up your women will sometimes achieve the desired result?
Wait, no no...

A lot of women are like prize fighters, no action until they get a good knocking up?

Wait...That was just fucked up. Ignore me, I was never good with morals.

the moral of both sides of the story, I think, is that if you get two people messing around and the situation escalates, someone might end up with a bloody nose that no one intended, so don't mess around. Just open the door for your boyfriend, and don't punch doors if your girlfriend is there.

It's all a metaphor for life. Whenever there's an obstacle in your way, something blocking you from where you proverbially want to go, there's some fucker on the other side of that obstacle laughing his (or her) ass off at you. You have to take control-- you have to injure, maim, or even kill that person to get where you want to go in life.

It's a dog-eat-dog world out there, and if you aren't willing to give somebody a bloody nose, you won't get anywhere.

I think we got it all wrong, there is no moral to the story, but there are morals.

The way I see it the girlfriend is more at fault for her own injuries. Yes, Jeremy's brother shouldn't have punched her door, but in his defense, he did tell her exactly what he was going to do and she still decided to keep her face in harms way. Plus, most peep holes (I'm assuming this is what you meant by "eye thing") only go one way, so Jeremy's brother probably couldn't tell that his girlfriend had her face on the door. If he knew her face was close to the door, I'm sure he wouldn't have hit the door, I hope.

So, the morals are:

1. If you're gonna punch a door, which doesn't seem very bright in the first place, then make sure someone isn't behind it; especially your girlfriend!

2. If you're gonna put your face up to a door and someone says they are going to punch the door, then unless you like pain and the taste of blood, you might want to move your face.
