The new bags will typically take longer to break in, however they are fairly lightly filled (as in lots of space and not much filler) so this will improve break in time considerably - because of their small size the low filler shouldn't cause much wobble problems either. They'll keep their shape much better. Basically the new design is aimed specifically at tight dexing and are probably best for players that already have strong stalling abilities (since they'll be less floppy and more rolly than older bag designs of mine). Basically they are very sweet for my game in particular and I love them.

I felt like making a blog entry though I don't have much to say. I didn't really play today, apart from hitting a few eggbeaters and then symp eggbeaters while bored. I'm at work and about 1/4 on the way to getting a bonus but that's unlikely and the boss isn't here so I'm losing motivation. Also Nestle just called that very minute and are sending me over a proposed schedule for October demos :D

I bought a cd yesterday of some japanese club music - chilled electonica mainly I guess.

Also I've decided that unclean muted magellans are in fact the coolest move in footbag (ie the bag from the pixie set only goes behind your leg - and then you take it back to a toe stall).

I also think that legover and whirl are the two most crucial moves to master in footbag - if you can't do those moves you'll find it very hard to learn pretty much everything. Oh well that's all I have to say.

I spoke to Ken Somolinos on the PHONE!!!!
:D :D :D :D

I couldn't understand a word he says - good thing I'm getting him out of Japan so he can learn to speak English again.

Actually it was a really bad connection - we could only hear the odd parts of words. Still that's the higlight of my night I think :P

Ok so something weird just happened and I wanted to write about it...

We live in a row of townhouses - there are 5 flats in a row. We live at the end one. Today the woman next door apparantly locked herself out of her house - she walked around our flat and tried to get in her back door. She couldn't so she knocked on the window and came in and gave me a hug and used the phone which didn't achieve anything. She then searched her pockets and found her keys and left. I would deem her mood to be very excited and strange - she would change subjects all the time and I couldn't follow most of what she was saying.

She then knocked on the door again to let me know that if the police come around they're tresspassing and she doesn't want them around. I asked if she was expecting them to come around and she said she hoped not...

Just then in the middle of writing that last paragraph she came around a third time to explain that they'd assulted her once before and she didn't like them.

Anyway yeah. Actually I feel a bit bad about writing this now - it was funny to begin with because she was crazy - but now since she's told me that she is mentally ill - which is why the police came around - I feel bad about laughing about her. I think I'll invite her around for dinner one day or something. I don't know. Mental illnesses are definitely not funny.

edit: actually her boyfriend or brother or something came around a few months ago at 2 am to ask me to turn the music down on the computer - which is completely fair enough in my opinion and I felt bad about it for the rest of the night. Then the next day the woman came around to apologise for the boyfriend/brother coming around and said not to worry about it... anyway I think I understand the situation better now and will endevour to be friendly but careful too.

I used to live with a girl who's mother lived up the street. That mother was a 'nut-job'. She tried to kill her self a few times and was mentally ill.

At the end of the day, what I'm trying to say is that you need not go out of your way to accomidate anyone with a mental illness... just don't discriminate.

Yeah fuck I love my current bag - trying to be as objective as I can be, it's the best bag I've ever played with (and considering my new design is aimed specifically at my own style, that's not so surprising).

I had a nice kick today - pretty chilled. We had myself, Dom, Ryan, Tony and Ian.

Ryan and Tony only played a little but were impressive again. Tony was way hang over too. Ian had a good kick and was hitting atws and stalls and stuff. Dom was very impressive - smear, double atw, sole stall>op sole stall (that's a cool combo) some other nice stuff. I really enjoy playing with all those guys too.

I have a really horrible cold and could hardly breath but my bag is so good that I still played well - long runs, genuine stuff. 7 consec smogs I think. I'm sure I could at least double that when I get over this cold though. Some nice hard moves and combos. Mobius coming out well. Good blenders bsos. My eggbeater moves on my strong side are really good - ps eggbeater into a run for the first time. My non shuffle tripless is getting a lot better too - like pdx whirl>pdx drifter>pdx dlo>smoke>torque etc. - I still put in some shuffle but it's nice to be able to go tripless with more effortless moves.

Yeah it was a good day despite this being such a fucking horrible cold - can't breath, can barely eat - feel sick all the time. Footbag is my spiritual saviour though and I always feel good when I'm playing depite how I feel physically.

Thanks Jesse,

I'm still sick but have been making up for it by watching lots of James Bond movies (my housemate just downloaded the first 11 I think...) and generally owning n00bs on various forums. Tonight I'm in the middle of cooking a l33t thai dinner - sweet and sour pork spare ribs with a cool salad. Should be very nice although the recipe sucks - normally when it says "serves four" or whatever that's way under but I've just prepared all the stuff and it looks like I'll have enough food to feed the whole street 8O

Hmm - earlier while I was preparing I got a green rubber band off the shallots and commando rolled out of the kitchen and fired it from 15 feet, hitting my brother in the temple. I accept the fact that I rock ;)

I guess cooking big meals while having a cold is not the best idea but it's a chance of passing on my disease and pwning the rest of my household :). Actually I'm fairly hygenic in the kitchen (as opposed to shredding in the same shorts, shirt and socks 4 days in a row :P) so I think they'll be ok. Good chance they'll catch it off me anyway - actually I think I got it off my brothers girlfriend so she'll be safe and my brother will no doubt get it off her anyway. Andre (the giant) may get sick but he spends 99% of his life on his computer so I think he probably wouldn't notice anyway.

Oh yeah I hit a new move today - although it was very easy for me and it only counts as a new move because I've never tried it - pixie ss eggbeater. Barefoot too although I'm quite sure I'll hit it midstring next time I have shoes on if I think of it.

hmm. Not much else to say I think, just felt like making a blog entry. Oh yeah I'm not working today due to being sick - although I think I'm about 75% through the cold so I should be better tomorrow (This is my 4th day being sick). Bring on the fruit juice!

part time in the evenings (5 - 9) 4 days a week - so perfect for when I start uni next year. I do enjoy it - it's great to work for an environmental organisation that I admire.

I filled out my enrollement form for uni today :) There was much decision making - especially in regards to should I go full time or part time (decided full time) and what I should actually study. Decided for a bachelor of arts and a bachelor of science - ie. four year double degree. I've always breezed through school very easily with pretty much no effort (although I'm sure I could do better with more effort) so I feel pretty confident that I should do farily well - especially if I choose subjects that I find interesting - which I plan on doing - and I plan on putting in regular effort every day - even if it isn't much and trying to take things serious. I think because I've matured a fair bit since I finished school (2002) that I should actually do fairly well. Oh yeah, speaking of my improved maturity - I put my name down as "Sir Jeremy O'Wheel" :D I considered changing that to "sire" but figured that might be pushing it too far. The form asked for my birthdate and my age - which I thought was pretty silly though so my title made up for that ;)

4 years is probably 1 year longer than I'd want to spend at university but an extra year for an extra degree is a good deal in my opinion. And I might go straight into a law degree after that :P We'll see though. I still don't know what specific subjects I'll choose but I figure it will be something along the lines of 20th C history, Political Science and Sociology for arts and Environmental Science, Astrophysics and some other form of fairly pure physics although I really don't know. It would be cool to do something I know very little about - like geomatics or criminology. Choosing subjects is going to be sooooo hard actually. I think I could basically choose completely random subjects and still enjoy them :P Anyway it should be fun.

My dinner was awesome of course. I really do enjoy cooking. Actually there were a few problems - mainly because the rest of the people in my household don't really understand the importance of timing in cooking and how there can be one really crucial part of making the meal where you have to say "nobody come anywhere near me for the next 10 minutes" and how you mean it. Anyway it turned out good so that's cool.

Those bags look nice - hope you're happy with them :).

Got a little stressed today trying to organise nestle demos - there are 5 more that I just found out about and not much time to organise things. Still I rang around and am much better. My cold wasn't helping things and the fact that my brain feels dead. Anyway it should be all good now :)

Haven't played footbag in a few days now, will play tomorrow if I have time.

So I've been fairly stessed about this Nestle stuff lately - not that anything is wrong, it's just that I have a lot of stuff to organise and it's very difficult and the woman doesn't call me when she should. However I worked on it for the last 3 hours or so and I think I have everything fairly sorted out. I hope she agrees!!

It looks like being really really fantastic for footbag in Australia. I think it will really help us build a very strong organisation and scene. Early days yet of course though but my mood 10 minutes ago changed from stressed and tired to excited and elated. :D

Just know that many people greatly appreciate all the effort you are putting into the whole organizational side. Hell, I`m probably the biggest beneficiary of your efforts, and I probably stress you out needlessly with my constant questions. So big big thank you. :) I think its quite likely this will turn out great, and you`ll feel your stress/work has been justified. I`ll see you in 16 days! :D

yeah cheers, both those posts above this one are great - thanks guys :D

Which brings me to something very imporant.

I just bought a russian mail order bride.

No I'm kidding, it's more important than that.

The other day in footbag chat somebody said that they had orange flem. I can't remember who it was but I'm pretty sure they're american.

Anyway I have had this nasty cold for sometime now although it's almost better. Today my flem was also orange. I have never seen orange flem before and I hadn't eaten anything to make it orange. Also it was just the flem - not the mucus. Anyway I have come to the conclusion that I have the same cold as somebody on the other side of the planet. If you're that person please post in this topic! Incredible.

That's all for today.
