Hey folks!

looks like austrian champs were pretty cool!

What happened to last year's austrian champ, Christoph?

Christoph was ill, so he couldn't come :(
I hope he gets well soon and starts shredding a bit more as he did this summer. Too bad that the summer is over now. It's cold and raining :(

Weather is fine again! And Verena's ankle too, well, not fully healed, but she can shred again! :) These will be the last days of outside shredding I guess! Todays session in the sunny burggarten was pretty cool! Although I played the last two days my legs felt fine today and I've hit some cool combos:

- legbeater -> blur -> atomsmasher bs (yuhoo! half rubberman first time :D ), came close to full rubberman, but dropped on the last atomsmaher
- spinning clipper -> ripwalk rpt
- spinning clipper -> ducking clipper rpt
- paradon -> pdx mirage rpt.
- matador bsos
- butterfly x 53, damn that was exhausting

in the last sessions:
- ripwalk x16 (I guess, shit I can't remember, maybe they were just 14? Verena, do you remember?)
- ducking clipper x19 :)
- pixie ss dyno

Oh Yeah!!!
Tomorrow we will be shredding on the Heldenplatz were the "Tag des Sports" (day of the sport) takes place. Hundreds of spectators guaranteed :)

@mr. alex: 14 ripwalks. :wink:

.
.
so today we played at the "tag des sports". it was alex, ali, rené, denise, hanna and me. so quite a lot of people. :D
everybody was playing really well.
like hanna and denise have really improved a lot. they've got good style and their strings are getting longer and longer. they hardly do toe stalls anymore.
rené is progressing very fast since he isn't playing all by himself anymore and since he's got lavers. every time i see him playing he hits three or four new tricks! wow!!
ali doesn't play a lot, but when he plays he's pretty good. like i think he could be tons better if he practised more, but he's still really good.
and alex is getting better and better too. he's really progressing a lot at the moment. just if you look at his last post. he's so very close to rubberman! 8O
.
.
at the moment i'm playing quite good too. my ankle isn't completely okay...like sometimes it hurts when playing and its still swollen, but who cares if i can play. i just can't take a break, i like footbag way too much.
i hit a few new combos:
-pdx whirl>pdx drifter
-pixie (no plant) clipper and fairy (no plant) clipper>spinning clipper (which feels really good and finally my spinnings are getting better!! yahoo!)
-pixie osis and fairy osis>pdx drifter
-strong torque>flip pdx drifter
-a new sick3-combo (which is not really good) pdx whirl>pdx torque>drifter (tried to hit pdx drifter in the end as well, but it rolled off my foot )

i tried to hit flip fairy drifter and flip fairy torque. and was so very close to hitting it. i hope that next time i play i'll hit those two tricks.

the last week or so all i did was thinking about my "footbag-usi-kurs" and how to get more registrations.
wahhh. it's so hard to explain what "usi" is. it's for university students. they can register for all different kind of courses. like for yoga, capoeira, soccer, fishing, etc. there's like 500 different courses. this year, because i'm a sports students and know some people, i got the chance to do a footbag-course. the problem is that i need 14 people or the whole course will be scratched. so far i've got 2 people in there.
so the last week i designed flyers and posters and sent lots of e-mails to people. i had anounced the course in all different kinds of student forums, but obviously that wasn't enough.
however. today i got to know that four more people wanna join my course, plus hanna and bernhard from footbag-vienna will also attend the course.
i also get paid for the course, so it would be the perfect job for me!!
it will work...somehow... :?.

okay...don't have much time left anymore...i've gotta babysit now...

just the highlights from today's session:
-pdx torque bsos (like really both pdx torques were right in the middle of the string)
-smear>magellan>ss smear>string
-fear>double over down>pdx torque (also >torque)
-pixie ss torque (which is surprisingly hard...like so much harder than porque)

i footed a new 5>5. hope to hit that next time.

yep, huge moves and combos Verena!!!

Session today was pretty weird. Well the weather in general was weird and not too warm, about 15 degrees, well a bit too cold. It was cloudy then sun was shining, then rain, sun, sun and rain and so on. As we (Verena, Hanna, me) started it was okay, then it began to rain and Hanna left :( . But Verena and me decided to keep shredding cause this little rain cannot stop us :)

I didn't play good. At the beginning I've hit legbeater > ripwalk > blur rpt. (a really cool drill, I love it :) ) and I had a decent run with phoenix midstring and blurry whirl at the end. After the blurry whirl I was too 8O to keep on going

Because of the rain we changed to place under a tree, where it was dry but not really flat. So I thought, shit, pretty fucked up session, my legs are so tired and the surface so shitty I can't hit anything good anymore. So I was fairly surprised when I hit the following new tricks/combos:

- fairy dyno
- ducking legovers easy
- zulu butterfly, zulu legover 8)
- fairy ss drifter
- pixie ss drifter
- ripwalk -> matador
- drifter -> pdx tap bsos first try 8O :D

I'm out for partying, the beer is waiting for me

edit: it was just drifter > pdx tap not drifter > matador

thanks for the comment matt!! :D

no footbag for me this weekend. my new favourite sport (well besides footbag) is squash now. it's so much fun! i used to play tennis for 10 years, but squash is really more fun!

however.
my routine from austrian footbag championships is online. you can watch it at http://www.footbag.org/gallery/showset/AFM05-Women. now that i watched it i think it was pretty easy. :? three drops is good though. lots of kicking inbetween though...
i don't know....

Clicky here for my qualification and my finals routine from the Austria Champs 05, which Harry sent me some days ago. It's not good quality but who cares. After watching them I'm not really satisfied with both of them. The beginning of the quali was good and the end of the final was good. The rest wasn't that good. I dropped the pdx whirl in both routines

Nice routine Verena, now as I saw it too! Just a few drops. That's good. I was quite impressed by Hanna's routine too, also very few drops :)

So, now I'm feeling a bit :? since I didn't smoke a cigarette since yesterday in the morning when coming home from partying. We'll see if I don't smoke a cig today. 4 hours to go and then I would have 2 smoke free days. That would be my longest smoke free time since a looong time, like 5 or 6 years  It's hard to resist .....

hey, alex, forgot to ask you, still no cigarette? if so, huge props!!

.
.
good news about my footbag course. on tuesday all of a sudden around 16 people were showing up. it was amazing!!
.
today i had a pretty crappy session. actually i'm very demotivated at the moment. i'm so very busy at the moment with university and hardly have time to play footbag anymore. it really sucks.
so today we had our weekly footbag-vienna training session at the gym. i was very tired and in a bad mood. so i only played for an hour. i wasn't playing very bad, but not satisfying. lots of stuff didn't work and my strings were pretty short.
the only thing i was happy about was pdx torque>pdx blender. new 5>5.

jup, still no cig 8) It's especially hard at work, cause currently I have nearly nothing to do, so I'm bored most of the time. When I was bored I used to smoke a cigarette... I'll definitly try it until the first WUK-session on Friday and am sure I can get it, but the biggest problem will occure while drinking my first beer then...

The only smoke today was while shredding, still no flipside cause flip pixie set is too weak and low. Have to work on it a bit more.
Session today was fine for me, I felt more energetic than usually. Played the first half an hour freestyle disc with Tommy and managed to hit three new tricks :D
Nothing special in footbag, some nice runs, so it was okay. Tomorrow it should get ~21 degrees. I have to shred outside :!:

Edit: props to your new 5>5, haven't seen it. Cool link!!!

Yesterday was the first training in the WUK! It was amazing. We always play net the first 1 1/2 hours. Net is fun :)
Then Verena and me worked out a 3minute show for today which we have in 2 1/2 hours at an opening-event of a youth church. Just talked to Verena who had a workshop in the afternoon and people seem very conservative there... It still should be fun :)
Then we shredded. Arthur is here this weekend :D . He also played a bit although he's still injured :( I hit some new combos:
- spinning clipper > drifter rpt.
- spinning clipper > torque bs
- pdx flail > symple legover > ducking butterfly

Didn't smoke until friday night. I was drunk and smoked two cigarettes

heidiho!!!
We, Verena and me, are still in the church surfing in the internet where we had the show. Damn, it's a long time since I've been in a church :)
Show was okay, wicked lighting, it was hard to spot the bag sometimes. So we have to go now to get the last tram!

Hi Justin, I will talk to Ali if we need another one!

My legs need a rest after 5 days of shredding, will play on wednesday again. Some stuff I remember:
- spinning clipper > pdx whirl
- a run starting with matador > butterfly rpt. and sumo in the middle :)
- close to superfly 8)
need to drill my flipside atomic to nail this rubberman drill

smokeblog:
2 cigs friday night, 3 saturday night, 2 on sunday. I enjoyed every single one of them :) Today I smoked 4 at work  Should stop it again atleast during the weekdays.

EDIT: forgot to mention that my FELIX BAG from planetfootbag arrived today :D :D :D

So...
Nearly 2 weeks without an entry here. I'm back on the forums after I had an eye-injury (Augapfelprellung und Hornhautabschürfung for all german speakers). I still see blurry with my right eye, but it will get good again.

My last footbag session is 9 days ago and my next will be in five days (hopefully). Two weeks without footbag 8O THAT SUCKS!!! At least I've hit a new sick3 last time:
phoenix > blur > toe blur :D

That's me and my new felix-bag one week after being beaten up by two random shitheads who also stole my mobilephone and my mp3-player:
http://www.footbag.org/gallery/show/6103
http://www.footbag.org/gallery/show/6104
Some days ago the purple of the bag matched really well with my eye
