The FTB Blog (now with new poll!)
I had a good solo session this morning, working almost exclusively on stepping.
Highlights:
-18 consecutive ripwalks
-much more consistent barflies (both sides twice in one string)
-blurriest midrun (after a ripwalk)
-drifter > spinning clipper (repeat about 4 times!)
-blurry whirls all over the place (will work on consecutive next time)
Also on saturday I hit my first 5>5: blurry whirl > PS whirl first try!

Oh smoke, sounds like your schooling hard. Slick on your first fearless combo. !8 ripwalks that ties the ftb record tonight I´ll have to attempt to beat that. keep it up.

Yeah Shawn, I still kick with Phil a lot down at school. I'll definitely give him your contact info. before Thanksgiving, 'cause that's probably the next time he'll be back home.
Anyways, I just had a nice 3 hour session with Jake and Josh at Montrose beach. Their runs are definitely longer than the last time I saw them. Weather was PERFECT, and I had a pretty good shred day myself. Now back to U of I...

No problem Tom. It was really really late notice on my part.
Anyways I just got back from a late night session with Kevin. He went on some pretty good strings. Plus he invented a move: The Stinky Corpse Grinder. Basically in the middle of a long string he farted while doing a toe stall. Unfortunately he was laughing too hard to continue. Either way, in that moment the Stinky Corpse Grinder was born!
Also, I just so happened to hit a new move myself. U wanna guess what it is??? I'll give you a hint. It starts with "mont" and ends with "age." Give up? Alright, I hit MONTAGE!!!
7-add moves under my belt: 3

Sweet Mosey Molasses a Montage!!@!#L#%
All I can do are a couple measley PS whirls back to back.
Whirlwind and Whirlygig will come soon...
It's been a long time since we've kicked together Eric. The FtB will reunite sometime though and the gods will envy the skillz displayed.
Now that you can hit 3 seven add moves, why don't you link them together?
montage > alpine whirlygig > whirlygig rake
should be no problem, right?

I suppose this calls for an FTB consecutive flail contest...or, umm...yeah maybe not
Anyways I had a short, late-night session with Phil just now. He hit blur BSOS, flipside spinning clipper, a smooth gyro mirage, and also a sweet combo: ducking osis>pdx mirage>symp mirage
Nothing was really working for me tho. I'm a little sore from running yesterday. I did try spinning out of my blurry whirls a lot. I was mostly unsuccessful, but when I was able to spin out of it the set was perfect. I had a couple nice links on both sides.
I think I need to watch what I eat more. Days when I eat healthy food I really feel like I play better. Today I ate 10 delicious, chewy chocolate chip cookies that I just felt lying in my stomach. No more shitty food. But as for beer, I can make an exception. In fact I think I'll go grab a brew right now
Edit: Oh yeah and props on the consecutive ps whirls Will. I still have very little control coming out of those.

I had another pretty crappy session just now with Kevin. I think I should really go back to basics and practice long, consistent guiltless runs like I did at the start of the summer.
One cool drill I footed twice today was pdx whirl>drifter>pdx whirl>repeat, but thats really all I did today that was cool.
Kevin has started to work on osis, and he hit a couple pretty decent ones on both sides. That move takes a long time to perfect though, as I remember.

Just hit smog for the first time on both sides. That move is pretty hard, and I can't really see myself throwing it into a run anytime soon.
