Another UK shredders call

Post by Matt Christopher »

It's become painfully aware to me how often posts from disgruntled UK shredders pop up on message boards and then quietly squelch away like hungover slugs, but hey, I'm not ready to put out the beacon just yet.

I'm a fairly new player who discovered footbag whilst on holiday in Prague, although a New Zealander introduced the sport to me. I spent five months kicking with friends who weren't interested in learning freestyle, and then decided to start learning some moves. I've been training solo in earnest for a few weeks now.

I'm a university student who lives and studies in London. Yesterday I finally met and shredded with another London-based freestyler. I should be meeting a couple of European guys in London this weekend. If these trends continue... eyy!

I think I've hunted out the (two) UK players in this excellent forum, but if a UK resident spots this or if anyone knows anyone who visits London at all then send me word.

E-mail address in profile.

oh, and I nearly forgot the obligatory freakout: arrrggghhhhh, why must the London/UK/British Isles scene be so depressingly vacant?

Welcome to modified Matt, you've got the right attitude, if you keep pushing and pushing eventually a scene will just grow around you as your passion spreads to those in your presence.

Keep at it and don't lose faith! :D

PS BOTH SIDES!!!!

Yes welcome to modified Matt, I got your email from the footbag.org forum, which, let's face it it, is more European centric. Still, this forum has the most hits / posts. Anyway, I'm the Mxa who miled you and that'll be kicking with you this week-end.

Glad to see an Englishman on modified.

Cheers, Tom. I have visions of crowds of people in Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square, and Hyde Park gathering round to watch in awe as the UK freestyles gain skills and take to the streets.

Max, good to see you here. Looking forward to meeting up this weekend.

Hey Ian, my e-mail is visible in my profile - it'd be great to catch you while you're in town. I'll PM you my mobile number so you have another way to get in touch nearer the time. Cheers for the reply.
