hey Tom!

excellent initiative. I think finally having a pro with the necessary design skills sit down and work on a model of a "perfect" freestyle shoe will help in the long run, even if it might not make it into production.

what will definately help the shoe make it to the production stage is if you use an existing shoe as a basis. it will be much cheaper to produce the new shoe (especially if we talk small quantities) if elements like the molds for the soles are already existent or only need to be modified slightly.

anyway, have fun going off with this project! hope you'll keep all of us updated with the process!

The question is, what kinda platform would the shoe be made on? I mean, will it look more like a climacool? New balances? Or will it be more along the lines of lavers and g-units? That'll be an interesting decision, indeed.

It will be made off of fucking nothing dammit!

I am *designing* it, not bastardiznig something else like we've all been doing for years.

Listen guys, I know what the ass I am doing!

Here is how designing stuff works:
- you create a list of functional requirements
- you talk about the problems with any currently existing stuff
- you put time and thought into how those things could be fixed
- slowly over time you refine your designs and ideas over MANY MANY MANY iterations
- you form a prototype
- you test said prototype
- you modify prototype
- you test that again
- repeat until finished

Regarding the eventual production of the shoe, the professor that allowed me to take on this project has close ties with an ATHLETIC SHOE COMPANY and hence prototyping won't actually be that difficult.

Also, I was contacted by Daryl Genz, he has invested alot of time into the design of the footbag shoe and we have agreed to combine our efforts.

I am going to be submitting the list of technical requirements to my professor shortly and the ball will really be rolling then.

I think it is safe to get our hopes up on this one, my passionate drive for this thing will not weaken. This WILL happen.

I can tell by looking at Daryl's shoes that he and I look for very different things in our footwear.
It will be interesting to see what you guy's come up with. I wouldn't feel too bad if you can't please everyone with one shoe.

make sure u add a push pump for custom support. Not all players require the same support in their shoes.
