Ethan; true footbag story...

Post by Yellow Watchbagger »

Hey whats up everybody im 15 and i just started footbagging about a week ago, i have mastered legover BSOS, clipper BSOS, atw BSOS, and a few others tho i still cant master mirage yet..i have been playing intensly for about a week and first day i mastered toestalling and inside stalling, second day i mastered atw's and worked on basic stalls...third and forth and fifth day i mastered legovers, illusion, and clipper and now on my 6th day (today) im trying to put all the tricks together in a string..and so far the best string i have had is illusion>atw>legover BSOS>clipper flipside! i was really excited it felt great and i love how determined i am to progress..well i use an 8 panel sandbag and i just ordered all black mesh lavers from village shoes.com but i was sent an email saying they dont have my size(12) they have 11 and 13's tho so i dunno wat im gonna do cuz i really like black lavers or red lavers so any help on finding me the right shoes would help me out also! i cant wait to make my first vid. to show you guys wat level im at right now but i first need to get a camera.. oh snap..just hit my first butterfly first try..not too hard im gunna throw that into my strings soon..lol!

Wow 8O Sounds like you're really progressing fast.

Do you live near any other shredders? It's always a good idea to kick with people who are better than you, especially when you just start learning freestyle. They can give you tips and inspire you to improve quickly.

Anyways, good luck!

10 / 6 / 05...
well my right hip is kinda sore from doing tons of legovers so im just gonna practice my flipside which i guess is for the best...new tricks ive hit is butterfly, and pixie a few times...just got back from a night shred..i really cant stop..ive had like 4 seperate sessions today..anyways i hit a nice string for me anyways... mirage> legover BSOS> illusion> butterflyBSOS...sry if that doesnt make since..but yea it was fun and i have preety much mastered mirages..now to master pixies and butterflies...well i just had another session and i landed 4 legovers in a row and i havent done that yet so it was preety rewarding....and my butterfly is looking better and better already..i can put it in my string sometimes...

As I said before, BSOS means "both sides one string". So you wouldn't say 'I did butterfly > legover BSOS', but you could say 'I did legover BSOS' (meaning you had a run with legover on each side), or you could say 'I did butterfly > legover > legover' (if you meant you did them back to back).

Hey man, just wanna ask one thing, when you say master do you mean, you hit it once or twice or even three times or do you mean, you can hit 5 in a row whenever you want?

'Cause I noticed you said that you mastered ____ move but then in a later post would say you were going home to master it...
usually we just say 'I hit it', if you hit it once, and 'I mastered it" if you can do it 10 out of 10 times.
The only reason I say this is because I'm curious to know what you really have mastered

Congradulations on your progress I can't wait to shred with you at a tourney some day.

Here's some contructive training advice:

Fuck ducks/spins/sets until you master the basics. Like Chema said, master means hit ten out of ten tries. Try drilling these instead:

Mirage>Legover rpt
Pickup>Illusion rpt
right clipper>left toe>left clipper>right toe rpt

Then string mirage>legover>mirage>legover>illusion>pickup>illusion>pickup

Doing those will help your endurance, stamina, string length and control ten times more than doing a butterfly at this point will. I don't want to hear any more of this nonsense of ducking until you do the above.

Don't mean to be mean, but this will help you a lot.

october 11, 2005..i havnt posted any shreds in a few days...but that doesnt mean i havent shredded!..ive been at it for about 2.5 weeks now and im just schooling the basics ya no?..ive been reading other ppl's blogs and i realize that one thing ppl do is go forward and try hard add's wen they havent schooled all their basics really(2 adds)...so im gunna just practice all my 2 adds and a few 1 adds mainly inside stall and outside stall(there really fun and easy)..also im goin to practice my legovers just to get a better form because i can already do them preety easily..and im gunna practice atw's, illusions, mirages, and especially clippers because they are so important to get into better tricks later on..well im about to shred and i'll be back later peace

tongiht october 11th i just drilled for a while..i am accualy getting better at atw's and my legovers are soo much sweeter thanks to ben adlers videos...i watched his legover form and i thought he did it a neat way cuz he keeps his legs spread out at a diagnal then wen he sets it in the middle of the legs he can legover easily and then land it easier so i tried it and it seems easier..so my legovers are btter..my clipper stalls are still sketchy but im gettint he hang of it and my lavers will def. be here tomrow and if not tomrow then thursday...im gunna go drill for about 30 mins then take a shower and watch tv and go to sleep..i got testings tomrow in highskool(btw im a junior!!...ttyl)
