NY Yankees suck goat balls

Well, the Yankees choked last night just like they always do and the Sox are in the playoffs again. I think this is particularly funny because my buddy Mathas bet $2,500 on the Yankees. He also bet $4,500 on the World Series game between the Sox and Yankees last year. I'd've thought he'd learned his lesson, but I guess not.

Fuck the Yankees!

Yeah the world series is now between two AL teams ? I take it you arent too into baseball sir.

PS: The yankees are playing the angels in the Playoffs... the red sox are in the wild card series. The yankees are still in better position...

PPS:im not a yankees fan, i am more of a bosox fan , but your statements are incorrect.

wow. henry is completely, 100% correct. the only thing blackend got right was that the yankees do suck. but, yesterday's game...didnt matter at all. the yankees clinched the division in the previous game. yesterdays game didnt even really wind up making any difference for the sox, who clinched the wild card simply because the indians was the team doing the real choking, as they dropped the last 6-7 games of the regular season. the sox could have lost yesterday and still be the wild card champs, since the indians lost while the sox and yankees were in about the 4th or 5th inning. BUT! thats not to say it was completely useless as a victory...i mean, come on...10-1? im glad they won

i want to create a red sox thread similar to Ken's NBA thread, but i never have, because my study is so much more limited to one team...i know a ton about the other teams, but i dont think i know enough (especially unbiased) information to justify that.

not to mention the fact that its fairly hard to choke when you have nothing to actually lose. divison champs 8 years and running, despite 'choking' a couple nights ago.

Woops, you're right, it was the ALCS. I am a baseball fan, jerkoff. Sometimes people mix things up. Anywho, yes, the Yankees are still in, but they'll still choke.

And you can take your 26 WS Championships and shove 'em because no matter how deep the Yankee's pocketbook is, they still choke. I mean you'd think with having the ability to have two players total half of the MLBPA's salary that the Yankees wouldn't choke. Oh well, that's all the more reason for me to make fun of them.

I do give them credit for winning a World Series in the past 20 years as opposed to my team (Pittsburgh), who hasn't won anything since the days of Roberto Clemente and Willie Stargel.

im beginning to think its matt clement that sucks goat balls. i really never was too sure of his consistancy...i dont think it has much to do with it, but since he got clocked with the line drive, he hasnt been doing well with consistancy.

EDIT(about 6 hours later)-

phew. what can i possibly say about that debacle. obviously i spoke too soon on clement, the bullpen was miserable as well. the offense was minimal, especially the guys you expect and need it from (renteria, ortiz, and ramirez). hopefully Wells' experience in the post season will be a deciding factor in tomorrow's game. i predict a strong rebound tomorrow, with a more experienced starter, and an offense recharged by an embaressing defeat, and desperate to avoid elimination.

I'm sorely disappointed in the Sox performance yesterday. Wakefield better not suck or I'm going to counter his knuckleball with a knuckle sandwich.

It is incredibly boring and cliche to hate the yankees. Grow some nuts and admit you like the yankees outside of NYC. Thats what I do...

i honestly think the sox can pull at least one more victory...that meaning tonight. with the rotation so up in the air, its hard to say how things will progress after that. its possible that if they win, schilling may pitch again. but as far as tonight...sox have wakefield on the mound. he led the rotation in wins and opponents ERA this season, and is the most veteran member of the red sox, with tons of big game post season experience. the sox just have to put some offense on the board...and no more defensive blunders.
speaking of which. sox fans are definitely putting too much stock into that error by graffanino. calling it the new bill buckner. ridiculous. the sox didnt score a single run after...what, the first or second inning? and wells giving up 5 runs so quickly and easily...everyone had an off-night, graffanino's was just more obvious.

as far as the yankees and angels game 3 tonight, that should be a good game. finesse-type picture Byrd vs. over-powering randy johnson. johnson can be occasionally unreliable, especially in terms of home-runs allowed (i think he led all of MLB, or at least the AL in home runs allowed this season), but he has defintely become a lot more consistant towards the end of the regular season and start of the postseason. besides, aside from Vlad Guerrero, the angels dont pose much of a long-ball threat. their small-ball approach to the game may not prove as effective against a power pitcher like johnson, but it should be interesting to watch.

I also hope SD beats the shit out of the Cards.

edit-well, at least i was right about the yankees. randy johnson IS suffering from the long ball. all of the angels 5 runs thus far have come on home runs, and its only the fourth inning. angels 5, yankees 1.

I don`t follow baseball, but from what I`ve read, I agree. Buckner`s error actually lost the game and series. Graffanino`s didn`t, and the Sox`s offense for the rest of the game also shoulders some of the blame for the loss. Hell, Graffanino could have been redeemed if anybody would have helped him out once he got on base.

Despite it not being his fault entirely, you KNOW he`s gonna be haunted by the error all through the summer. Probably not as bad as Rasheed Wallace`s error in Game 5 of the finals... that error actually lost the game, and the Pistons lost Game 7 on the Spurs` court.

Props to Iguchi for repping Japan so nicely in the series.
