Footbag, music and TV are not drugs because they are not substances. Chocolate my be considered a drug but it's more the fact that it has drugs in it (caffine) that keep it on that list.

Speaking of drugs........Caffiene is adictive, reduces your bodies ability to process calcium, is a diuretic, and has withdrawl symptoms which include the shakes, irritability, and inability to focus.
I recently quit caffiene!
Don't be harsh on one drug without looking at what you do yourself.
Antibiotics? Yeah, they reduce the bodies natural immune system and are leading to the creation of super viruses.
Ritalin...Dexadrine? These are almost chemically identical to methamphetamine. Dex is one of the most addictive chemical drugs you can be perscribed. Other than.......
Codiene which is a strong opiate in the same family as morphine and heroine.
You all do drugs.....your mom took drugs so she could give birth to you....your dad takes drugs to keep it up....your doctor takes drugs for his back.....so get over it and stop trying to make a very mellow drug seem so awful.

WOW I certainly hope you are not serious about these ideologies that you have just spewed out...! If you submit your individuality for the "fight against terrorism" then subsequently you are losing your freedom and democratic right to appease "the unit"-ed states!!! The word terrorist itself can be used synonmously with the word freedom fighter....it all depends which side of the issue you are on. I don't think they hate our right to live freely and democraticly but are more envious of the fact that they are not able to do the same....! The oldest democracy in history was the Ottoman Empire where in Turkey, muslims, jews and christians lived hand in hand happily....the majority at the time was the muslim population......America's Osama is the Middle Eastern's Bush..........! Each person has a different view of every issue but until we can learn to accept each others views....whether that be to burn or not to burn...then we won't be 'democratic and free'......prejudice is deeply rooted through our experiences both negative and positive, so the next time you meet someone and they have a joint in their mouth or one crippled leg or whatever they may be.....look past the initial urge to judge and just learn to love humans....we can learn a lot from each other but if we judge prematurely, less people are willing to listen and we collectively lose the ability to embrace our differences.

I have to disagree with you there. The point that people are talking about when they call pot, "the gateway drug" is that a user will eventually tolerate pot and need something stronger. As for this topic...I chose never. I can have fun without it, and I've also seen what it's (and other drugs) done to a lot of people I care about that I am scared to try it.
Oh yeah...people were talking about it linking to this sport. I hate being in a crowd that the majority does something that I don't, but tough luck for me. I just wanted to point out that whenever my mom came with me to World's in Montreal, one of her first comments was something like, "Geez do they have to smoke so much?" And she still brings that topic up when we speak of footbag. Don't get me wrong...she is still fascinated in footbag; it is just sad that an outsider relates a bad habit to the sport.

A couple of random thoughts...
The one thing that every footbag player has in common is a willingness to put serious effort into a non prescribed activity for the sake of intrinsic satisfaction. Coupled with the age demographic, it's natural that this set of people would have a high rate of drug use. It's too bad, but I don't think it can realistically be fought.
Also, the gateway drug argument is wishful thinking on behalf of those on the 'drugs are bad, mmkay' side of the fence. You believe it's true because it validates your opinions. I've never known a single rational person with any significant amount of experience with pot who gives it any credence.

b) doesn't represent your specific demographic of who you know
It just doesn't seem like a legit argument if you are only talking about not only just the people you know, but also, only the rational ones.
