Hey Anssi: if you ever happen to read this...

When would we come to Turku then? Which day, I mean. Because on Thursday the 20th I must go with my class to Tampere to listen to classical music, there's some concert, and I mean I MUST go there, I have no choice. The teacher said it's a part of the music course and can't be skipped. Also, it's the only possible night in October when they're there. :(

This means that I can't be there until Friday.

I'VE BECOME A MAN

...yeah, I ripped the canvas layer off from the insides of my Lavers. Hot!
And I had a first session in 10 days! Started all easy with only osis etc. Anyways, I'll go to shred now, I'll try to write more tomorrow...

Morjens. :)

When I read that first line, I got a flashback of that one scene in "A Scary Movie" where Doofy is with the police officers.

Waiting for the report!

----

I'll write a quickie-report about my shoe-modding experience on weekend; some dos and don'ts there. ;)
Played today a bit - hit 11 oses..osises...osisy...nah, whatever, but with a sandbag! :( I hadn't taken the Felixbag with me (because it breaks into holes easily) and the Virppabag isn't broken in enough for perfect stalls.
Anyways, nice to be able to shred again. Had already missed it.:)

OK, here it comes:
DO'S AND DONT'S - LAVER INSIDE MODDING (ie. "How I became a man")

You'll need:
- Lavers, a ball-point pen, a sharp knife (I used a mat knife), possibly another pen

Foreword: I had to do this all secret, because my parents would surely have some comments and other thoughts towards this modding. Also, I couldn't tell my sisters or brother about it, cause they would have surely - with pleasure - gone and told mom and dad about it, and I really wasn't at the mood of these kinds of conversations. ;)
Just be careful as you mod.

1. I took the laces off. I also ripped the inner insole a little bit off from the insole but now when I think about it, it may not be necessary.

2. With the ball-point pen I drew the lines of the area where I was about to take the canvas layer off. [Remember to pay attention in the "near toe section": stupid as I was I drew the lines of the left shoe poorly and later managed to cut the stitches that kept the fake leather padding in the toe (that that's in the white/navy lavers beige or something, not "in" the shoe, "out")].

3. I started cutting. It was actually really easy as far as I was careful, though I cut a couple of holes too - for ventilation of course *cough, cough* . [Actually the small holes aren't such a big deal as long as you keep ripping the layer carefully.]

4. The layer is only glued there I guess, because I could just rip it with my hands. Easy.

--- at this point my older sister and younger brother make a lot of traffic near my room: I just throw the shoes under a chair - and hid the knife under all my clothes there on the chair. No-one sat on it. Don't know if it's a good or a bad thing though. ---

5. Cutting and ripping, ripping and cutting, more cutting...etc.

6. The point I realized that I had screwed up: like said this fake leather shiz is loose. :? No problem, "Ei haittaa paskan vertaa", like a Finn would say. Nothing that superglue and self-stitching couldn't fix.

7. Next shoe: didn't make the same mistake again and planned more properly the lines I was about to cut. This one went better.

8. Finished. I stitched the too big ventilation holes and the fake leather back there. Laces back and "voilà!" mods are ready. The mesh layer feels incredibly thin and I thought the shoes felt even a bit lighter after the mods!
Too bad there was no-one I could have told about it - ironically I didn't tell about it to my folks but I can tell about it to a couple of thousand modified readers (yes, I'm overoptimistic about my blog's popularity).

---

9. Shredding phase: better osisyses are now better. I like the touch.

End my report here.

I've had now 6-ish or something sessions this month, total number with all the September sessions is 27 (?). The first real sessions this month I've had yesterday and today. What still bothers my game quite a bit is that I don't have any perfectly shreddable 32-bag at the moment (Felixbag is almost retired and Virppabag is a...well, in the elementary school). The second thing is that my back is still a bit stiff.
Anyways, on Friday to Turku! Nice to shred with other people again...

Nothing new from the video front, the school cam etc. stuff are in use. :/

*again I have to apologize all my 1,000 readers that I hadn't time to write a proper report. I was already writing it earlier today but then I had to log out and didn't bother to save the text. :? *

AUTUMN HOLIDAYS! :D (...actually tomorrow is a work day, such a charity thing that we work for one day and give the profit to hungry kids in Africa. But it doesn't count as a school day and I'll be glad to do it if it'll help someone. Though I'm afraid it doesn't solve any problems, just ease them a bit.:(). Anyways, no school! :D

Then in the evening a classical music concert with my class and a late dinner, I think it's a great show but still I would have preferred to go to Turku already on Thursday instead.
--> so the next thing is a shredding weekend in Turku! :D Can't wait for it, I skipped a session today (8O !!!) to avoid all the possible injuries and getting a sore throat in advance. I hope I'll be on my best there and hope that the injuries this month haven't affected my game in a "too bad" way. :)

!!!ON FRIDAY TO TURKU!!!

*digging up this blog again from the 2nd page*

My thoughts after the Turku-trip:

- I made it there and from there too despite the hirvittävä säätäminen of my mom. :)
- I hit Phoenix (or at least they told me so. ;) That's my first 5.), footed the flipside. I also hit DLO bs first barefeet, then x3 barefeet and the next day with shoes (did I hit it bs with shoes?).
- I got really good - golden - tips for Atomic set, Pdx Whirl and the DOD-dexing.
- Although we had to shred in the gym of the Kupittaa sport hall* on Saturday and though my legs were stiffy, it was really fun.
- Although we made an almost useless trip to the Turku Center (all we bought there were four brooches (not sure if they can be called that way) for Riku and Anssi) it was ok.
- I'm waiting for Aleksi to post his new tricks on modified.

It was nice. You guys could sometime come to visit the beautiful Mouhijärvi and Tampere, I should just find an indoor space for shredding. Too bad in Tampere there's no such places as Kupittaa sport hall, where you could just go and do what you want as long as you want without reserving, that's as far as I know.
I could probably offer a place where to sleep too, though the trip from Tampere to my place in Mouhijärvi costs around 5-6€ (that's one way).

But yeah, contact me if some of you is/are interested.

Today a really nice session, indoors and in a heated and ventilated place. There was this floorball shift and though they got me to play most of the time, I'd say I shredded at least 15-20 minutes there. I think I have better shreds when I shred with other people or even in front of some spectators. At least I have a better feeling, which usually makes me shred better too.

One thing that added the "pleasure" was modding the toe more. I took the canvas off from there, which helped my game surprisingly much! I recommend everybody to do that although you have to be patient with it (but if you've been skooling footbag tricks you've definitely learned some patience).

Too lazy to make any big reports. Though I think the Turku-trip would maybe be worth it...we'll see.

And the next "floorball shift" - I'll shred the whole time, I won't maybe get any other chance per a week for the whole next month! ...and it may take much longer too, if the next "school period" sucks like this one sucks.

Wow, my training place problems may be solved! :o
There's only one floorball shift per week (and next week there won't be even that) and that's not enough. Also I could study the last half of this religion course at school independent - that way I'd get 3x75min sessions more. Only bad thing is that the religion lessons are in the middle of the school days and changing clothes takes time from the both ends. Plus I've got a sh*itload of other projects from school at the moment.
Then I got the idea, that I could possibly use the youngster house of Mouhijärvi - free, and you can be there probably as long as you want. There's a disco room where you can also play pingpong, and although it isn't really big it's more than perfect for one shredder (and there are big, soft couches! Something that wasn't in the Kupittaa sport hall.. ;) ).
Oh, one thing. I've got to ask if I can play there. :)

I'm writing a report from the Turku-trip, someone could write about Thursday though cause I wasn't there until Friday.

---

I bought today new laces (90cm, black) and better insoles for Lavers. The color of the laces is a bit..well, I don't know. Maybe I need to get used to them.
With my lacing technique (the original® one) the 90cm laces are absolutely minimum - I can barely tie them, but I like them cause now they don't just fly around and bother the game.

Shoe mods I've made so far: ripping the stitches for getting the toe-box 'cup'; taking the canvas layer off (first from the inside, then from the toe-box too; changing the insoles; changing the laces (and different lacing technique.
What I haven't done: Brocka-mod; cutting off the eye-lits of the laces; taking off the canvas layer from the outsole.

I think I won't do the eye-lit mod at all - Brocka mod maybe neither, though I might do it in the future. Do you people take the canvas (~inner) layer off? I just thought it'd give the shoes more touch with the bag (though I barely use outsides) and better ventilation but on the other hand I thought they wouldn't support as much as now. Should I take 'em off?

I wrote the Turku report a bit further - only a bit.

I think I'll go to shred now to the "Navetta", I consider it's warm enough.

Nice sesh. Really nice indeed. Having a few days without shredding really makes eager. Also the shoes felt really nice and light, I've never had so fast and high pixie set double-dexes so easily in my life. The laces are ideal length - I wouldn't change them now.
Hit DLO both sides from toe, and the stronger from clipper too, flip was close.
I'm really going to start to skool my ducking and diving hardcore.

A golden tip from Turku: don't patch the holes in the bag with glue (), cut small pieces of plaster (:D).

...oh, almost forgot: Paradox Whirl the other side. (it WAS wicked for me! ;)) Next step is the flip.

Not as good session as yesterday, again in the Navetta. I think it's true that one should have proper rest days between shred days.
Hit Paradox Whirl both sides. Skooled Ducking. Skooled Spinning: I hit my first spinning move midstring ever -> (I think it was) ss butterfly > spinning clipper > osis > drop on butterfly. The bag isn't broken in yet so it rolls quite a lot; makes me even more happy to hit that combo. :D

Earlier today I suddenly came up with a funny idea - and almost hit my first 3-dex trick ever! Barefeet though, but I was damn close to Pixie (op) DLO. :D

Good day but tomorrow I'll rest.

Shredded yesterday. Wasn't a top session, had just eaten and then went to shred --> the result: I farted all the time (thank goodness no chicks read my blog :D ...or do they 8O ), which isn't good for the game cause you have to keep pauses to let the air out.
Hmm, why in the hell am I writing this?

I still don't have a broken in bag. Maybe I should take some filler off from the Virppabag?
Anyways, at the moment I'm skooling ducks&dives, spins and especially clipper tricks.

Tomorrow is the class (= lukio~) trip to Helsinki, I was at the same time online in MSN with Miika Valle and I decided that I'll just for sure take the Lavers with me, although I wouldn't get the chance to shred there.

Actually I think I'll shut up and go to kick.

Agh! The right Laver has a hole in the sole! *Now where's that duct tape...*

I think I'll do some modding already this evening, I want a better ankle crank (aren't doing a Brocka though).

On Thursday was this trip to Helsinki. I could luckily join the circle at Kisahalli, because our 2+ hours of freetime was organized in my opinion well.
I saw a couple of new faces, Samu Ahola and Piia ?, and some people for the second time (Tuomas Riisalo and Juha Vilpas). Miika Valle was there too. The old farts Riku and Aleksi I had seen relatively many times before.
Too bad I didn't shine at all. The only highlight was probably that I almost hit Pixie DLO - the foot even went under that bag, and I missed the delay. Before I hadn't got the foot under it. Well yeah, I bsos:d DLO again and symp mirages for the first time (?), I guess. It was funny cause it just came up to my mind and just hit it. I just hadn't thought it before. :D
I think the best part was being there; this was for me the first time ever at Kisahalli and the atmosphere was nice. It's a quite open place. At the center there are volleyball and basketball courts and place for gymnastics, the weight-lifting happens around it in the ground floor. In the upstairs there are other places, like the karate hall where we shredded. The funny thing is that there are actually no walls whatsoever that would divide the spaces from the corridors, only from each other. So as you're walking through the space there you can watch people doing all kinds of stuff from juggling, weight-lifting and volleyball to breakdancing and basketball - and footbag of course. :D

---

Yesterday I didn't shred, we had capoeira at school (which was pretty interesting...) and had a rest day from footbag. Anyways, today I went to shred again, to THE Navetta. It was pretty warm, 10'Celsius.
It appeared to be a nice session. Especially I trained the clipper game, which I'm about to get way much better. I hit:

- DLO bs from clipper
- almost Stargate-drill, almost Butterfly > spinning clip > rpt, almost Ducking clip > Diving clip > rpt (I missed all of them by the last trick! :x )
- Torque bs after a very long time
- skooled stepping and blurry
- ...and ducking butterflies too
- got the Drifter-dex smoother (still, the hit percentage is ashamingly low)

I didn't even have to listen to my own cd's, because there was a radio's wishlist programme coming. Some legendary stuff like "What a feeling" and "Baby don't hurt me".

Oh yes, and my Virppabag is becoming (one of*) the choicestestest bag(s*) I've ever played with! For a while I thought desperately that how long would it still take with it to break in, but tonight it was the only bag I used!

*Aleksi's new Virppabag is an absolute choice® too. He got it three weeks ago, it was almost totally broken in already when he got it and it was freakin' nice yesterday too.

Dennis Rodman played a game here in Finland! It's already been played but they'll start showing it on TV at...oh, right now. :D
Which means I have to write something quickly...

We start to renovate a couple of rooms here starting tomorrow. Today we emptied these rooms and I could have a shred indoors.
And I played almost two hours (played the Guns'n'Roses album "Appetite for Destruction" almost twice ;)). This was supposed to be an easy session because I pushed a bit yesterday. So this is what happened.

- Torque both sides again, but I still can't hit anything out of it :(
- practised the clipper game; played BOP and trained some clipper drills...
- ...Butterfly > Spinning Clipper > rpt, which I hit! :D This may sound a bit hard to believe if you saw my spins on Thursday at Kisahalli, but the truth and the fact is that I had hit Spinning Clipper bs midstring before that day. And now Bee-Sauce! :D I even sealed it with a butterfly 'cause I didn't remember which trick was the first in my challenge.
- I hit a nice toe guiltless string; Smear > Pixie op pickup > PLO > Smudge both sides.

I was quite pleased. :)

---

Next weekend there will be in my schedule a cruise; I'll of course take the Lavers and Virppabag with me there.
