I would, but just to find Morrowind itself is sooo hard apparently. EB Games in Stony says that as soon as it comes into the store it's gone. Bleh.

Friday night was way better then I had anticipated - my calves didn't hinder me and my ankle felt totally better. Unfortunately that didn't carry over to today, when in the first 5 minutes my ankle hurt like a bitch. The drive to kick wasn't really there and I felt totally bleh.

Anywho, Friday was really good!

- Whirl > Spinning Whirl > Whirl > Pdx Whirl > Whirl > Spinning Whirl > Whirl > Pdx Whirl > Whirl > Pdx Whirl
- Whirl > Gyro Whirl > Whirl > Gyro Whirl
- 5 fearless off my foot on two seperate occassions
- Montage for Kevin after he rolled his ankle (in the hopes it would help him feel better - it didn't work so well :( )
- Gyro DLO > Fusion
- Gyro DLO > Witchdoctor
- Pixie Paradon > Blur > Pixie Paradon > Blur
- A run with Pixie Paradon bs and nearly Blurriest bs
- Stepping Whirl > Ripwalk > Stepping Whirl > Ripwalk
- Gyro Whirl > Osis x 3 > Gyro Osis > Gyro Whirl midstring
- 70 contact tiltless (record for tiltless)

Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day, footbag-wise. Who knows though, if my calves/ankle act up I'll take another few days off.

I wish everyone a merry Thanksgiving :)

You're telling me there's no Morrowind in any stores in Edmonton? Go to the West Edmonton Mall, they'd better have it. There was enough junk there when I was there for the Cantando Festival that they're bound to have it. If not, order it off bethesda.com.

Yeah, I guess I could check out WEM next time I'm in town. That will probably be Friday...

So since I'm here, a little feedback from my 1 hour session this afternoon. Calves felt alright, not 100%, but better. I didn't test out my ankle - for Pete's sake I hope it gets better.

- Ducking Legover > Ducking Legover bs
- 8ish contacts of DATW > op toe
- 6 contacts of Spinning Toe > op toe
- Spinning Toe x 2 bs
- Toe Gyro Mirage bs

I felt like Rory today. I also came close to Toe Gyro/Spinning Legover but it's sooo hard.

Speaking of Peter, my best friend for, like, 8 years is going to be a father. This is old news which was relayed to me through my sister. I haven't talked to him since May. I hate growing apart. :?

This is for those of you who enjoy taking the time to read my blog and I hope you enjoy. It's not full of crazy shred - well maybe some - , seeings how I am injured, but it does contain some highlights for me.

In this way you get a reckoning of some of the music I listen to - Fleetwood Mac and BTO (for today's session anywho).

14 megs
4ish minutes

Enjoy!

Byrin (not as) Raw

In other news, I'm writing up my routine for Worlds as I wait for the upload to finish. I'm keeping two things in mind: 1) get the crowd and judges pumped and 2) keep it fairly choreographed. I don't have much knowledge as to anything else that makes up a good routine (aside from not dropping) though :(:(.

If anybody has ANY tips or constructive input regarding routines, I would greatly appreciate it!!

Great that you enjoyed the video!!

I finished writing up my routine, and went over it a tiny bit today. Some corrections need to be made but other than that I think I can make it look pretty good.

At the beginning of today's session my calves and ankle felt really good, but after 2.25 hours of kicking my ankle returned to it's ugly state of not-coolness.

Shins doing good. Ankle still feels out of whack.

So today - I felt a bit tired and sluggish but I'm not going to complain. A kick is a good kick so long as I don't get more injured.

- 13 contacts of my stepping drill (Dim > Side > Rip > Step Mir > Park > Stp Clip > Blur)
- 60 tilt again
- Toe Grifter bs (yay!! Really hard though)
- Inspinning Clipper bs
- Rubberman
- A string for my mom ending with Spinning Blender

I can't really remember what else happened. Not too much, I just took it easy and drilled over some things. Hopefully Friday at the Y yields better results.

O shit! I forgot to comment on your vid :P Sorry man... Of course I watched it before you wake up. Cool Toe Spinnings and Inspinnings. I like the drill with Gyro and Spinning tricks, it's a pitty that you didn't hit the Illusions part. Gyro Illusion is one of my favourites tricks.
DATW > Atomsmasher [rpt] and Pixie Paradon > Blur [rpt] were cool. Nice drills...
Nice Flurriest on both sides. And nice beta dominatrix ;] Though I don't like Beta Atomsmasher...

And props on Grifter bs... This is awkward move... expecially when set from clipper. Have you hit the clipper one yet? Try Paradox Grifter... It's easier than Clipper set. It's just like the one from toe, but you have to attack the bag more, and bring your foot fast from clipper to dex.
I'm working hard on Grifters.

Yo Byrin, I just want to let you know that I've downloaded your vid but I can't watch it at the moment.
I'll try to watch it tomorrow despite the fact that I'll be suffrering from a vulgar hangover that time.

About routines... Get a good music. Plan your routine on the level you are at the moment and when you start skooling it don't change it any harder, maybe easier. Crowd pleasers are not important, but you have to have some connection with the audience and the game has to flow with the music.

Fortunately for us, Kevina nd Rory sacrificed the time they needed for midterms / competitions to come out and kick at the YMCA. You see, I left early and didn't receive the phonecalls saying that they couldn't kick (I haven't heard the messages, but that's what I assume it said). We decided to just make it a short session.

I think we all were pretty tired, or out of it atleast. Even Jordon, who is usually everywhere kicking at anything. All in all, however, everybody had some highlights. Rory had a super uber long string (atleast 30 contacts) and Kevin nearly had Rubberman, like, first attempt. He too had some really good strings going on.

As for myself:

- 16 contacts of Whirl War 1
- My stepping drill (see my last post)
- Spinning Whirling Swirl off the foot
- Pixie Paradon > Blur > Pixie Paradon > Blur, sealed to a run
- Barfly > Sidewalk > Barfly > Sidewalk, sealed to a small run
- 8 contacts of Phoenix > Blur
- 11 contacts of Rubberman
- Rubberextension, sealed to a run
- Spinning Whirl x 4 on strong, x 3 on weak
- Blurry Whirl > Spinning Whirl > Scorpion's Tail, sealed to a run
- Backside Blur and Pogo Ripwalk bsos

Wow, a lot more highlights then I thought! Cool. My shins felt good throughout, which is awesome. Unfortunately, the Pogo Rips (which was quite early on) made my knees hurt. My ankle felt sore and a bit stiff as well. But that was it - just sore and stiff. When I stretched it before each run it would feel fine (only exception is doing Osis and Rev. Swirls).

Hey Byrin, remember at MFJ 2 when you hit ducking Scorpion's Tail both sides? That was cool...do that more.

Cheers! I will do a bit more of that when my ankle begins to get better Sam :)

Today I had my best session this month. I stretched my ankle a lot - and I don't mean a lot, I mean A LOT - and it really helped (A LOT :P). So much so that I was getting my groove on with shuffle and drilled Drifters and a bit of DLOs. Naturally they sucked but whatever.

- 24 contact genuine, all shuffle run (can be viewed here)
- Rubberman x 2
- Terraging ss Clipper
- Almost had this trick

Thanks Nathan. Are we still up for trading moola for footbag? ;) I will ask if my mother can exchange some money for me into USD and then send it on over asap.

Yesterday was my first day of work at a butter/maragarine factory. It wasn't too bad. Tomorrow I get to find out what my schedule is like - not looking forward to getting up at 6am though...

Today I had a good session. Not too many highlights but it felt like the drilling I did really showed.

- 14 contacts of Rubberman
- BAP Drill x 2
- Drifter x 11 (want to break my record of 17)
- Atom Smasher x 9 (tied my record  )
- Smog > Atom Smasher > Smog bs
- Zooming Gyro Whirl bsos

Oh oh, I totally bought myself Morrowind on Monday! I like to take my time with it, explore every place and check out all the new things. At the rate I'm going, I'll be finished it in about a year. Oh hey Sam, it was the Game of the Year edition, so I got Tribunal and Bloodmoon as well. Are they expansions or entirely new games altogether?

Yeah, it isn't the most exciting thing to ever be put on video but oh well :P
Cheers for watching it Anssi :)

Where to begin... Friday at the YMCA was fairly good, but we (Kevin and I, unfortunately Rory had to study for midterms) got tired after about an hour and a halfish. Kevin hit Tombstone and I had some good runs.

Saturday I kicked with my 10 year old cousin Jordon. I didn't do so swell but Jordon managed 6 ss consecutive Toe Delays, and even landed his second and third weak Toe Delays! By the end of the session we were doing Toe Delays back and forth. It was sweet.

Today my ankle wasn't too good (I think somethign is pinching something else when I put it into clipper position, resulting in a not good feeling) so I went totally one sided. Still, I think it ended up being pretty good.

- PLO x 25
- Paste x 15
- Atom Smasher x 10 (new record 8) )
- DLO > PLO (10 contacts)
- DLO > Atom Smasher x rpt
- DLO > Magellan > DLO > Atom Smasher > rpt
- Tapping DLO > Atom Smasher bs
- Toe Drifter > Blur (11 contacts)
- Smoke > Stepping Whirl
- Blizzard > Parkwalk > Blur > Legbeater > Sidewalk (14 contacts)
- Gyro DLO > Pixie ss Double Down

Mostly a DLO drilling session, as you can tell ;)

hey byrin, glad to hear your ankle is on the mend! was wondering if you wouldn't mind posting your fave drills at some point in the ol' blog. are you ion school right now? what's your deal? i'm thinking we should have some sort of western-canada christmas jam somewheres. no competition, just get us all out together for some good old fashioned shreddage, you know, once christmas holidays roll around. someplace in the middle so no one group is driving 16 hours one way, and another 16 back. whaddya think?

They're expansions. Tribunal takes you to Mournhold, the capital city in Vvardenfell. To get there, go talk to a dark elf in the fort at Ebonheart.

Bloodmoon is the second expansion and opens up the island of Solstheim in the north. It reminds me a bit of Canadia, eh? To get there, you have to take a boat to Khuul in the north, I believe. It's either Khuul or Dagon Fel, but you've got to boat, unless you want to swim. If you get stuck on something, I might be able to help in a form. Oh yeah, barbarians rule!

Man, Andrew, that would be so sick. If we were to pull something like that off, how would Saskatoon sound? It's pretty much right in the middle for yourself and us here in Edmonton. Since I just got a new car (will post pics shortly :D), it's totally a possibility!

Sam, thanks mate for the update. Barbarians are so-so. Archer / Thieves are where it's at!! Especially when they steal their entire suit of Glass Armor!! I will see if I can take a screen shot of my character sometime...

The drills I use a lot are as follows:

- Mirage x 5 > Legover x 5 > Mirage x 5 > Legover x 5 > Illusion x 5 > Pickup x 5 > Illusion x 5 > Pickup x 5
- Pixie ss Pickup > Magellan > Smear > Smudge > Pixie ss Mirage > rpt
- 16 unique pixie shuffle string
- Dimwalk > Blur > rpt (as many contacts as possible)
- Dimwalk > Sidewalk > Ripwalk > Stepping ss Mirage > Parkwalk > Stepping Clipper > Blur > rpt
- Smear > Dimwalk > Ripwalk > Sidewalk > Ripwalk > Blur > rpt
- Rubberman
- Tap > Atom Smasher > rpt
- DLO > op toe > rpt
- Drifter > ss Butterfly > rpt
- Drifter > Pdx Drifter > rpt
- BAP Drill
- Barfly > ss Butterfly > rpt
- Whirl War 1
- Pdx Whirl > Spinning Clipper > rpt
- Osis > Gyro Clipper > Spinning Osis > Spinning Clipper > Far Osis > Spinning Clipper > Osis > rpt

And that's about all I can think about off the top of my head :)
