the tachometre (is that the word) in my friends car rolled over to 70000 today.

Now that is the kind of thing that people would pay to see.
Hopefully back one day.

I bought some mints the other day and they taste like toothpaste... which begs the question... why on earth did I buy them? I don't even like toothpaste. I'm eating them anyway, of course.

My car's at 170,000... but it's 25 years old, so it's probably already gone around once :D

The gasoline soon (already?) costs more than beer in Finland. :D *I'll drink a glass of milk for that*.

Actually I think it's stupid that the Finnish government keeps the same taxes for etanol fuel as the normal, fossil gas. :? Hip-hurray for the green house effect.

10 days ago the Australian Governemnt announced a budget surplus of $1.6 billion, yet still refuse to cut the petrol excise of a whopping 38c a litre. Australia's petrol prices, in the last two years, have gone from an average 70-80c to an insane $1.25c-$1.35c a litre.
Average household goods such as fruit and veg, and milk, are now going up in price due to increased transport costs. Nurses Australia (or whatever) are now saying that they may not be able to see as many patients next year, as they have this year, due to a major transport cost blowout. Local businesses are going out of business as people have less expendable cash, it costs more to drive anywhere so people stay at home often, and business costs are going up.
Businesses that thrived on excellent delivery services are struggling as they cannot afford to deliver free anymore. The Queen Victoria Markets in Melbourne, a long standing and strong market... is struggling. Stall owners of twenty years or more are being faced with the very real possibility that they may have to close up shop.

They had better bloody well be spending that $1.6 billion on something good

I think my tank has rolled over at least three times since it's been around. It's rolled around once between me and my brother and is now on 29,179 and I'm sure it's rolled over for my dad. It's also had a different engine in it for the past seven years, which six of them I've had it for. I'd like to calculate how much it's cost me for gas for that damned thing over the past six years... :x

I hate bitch-arsed motha farkers that don't know how to hold a contraversial conversation when you're drunk and they're not and you're trying to say good luck and they're trying to rub that shit in your face and you're cool with their success but step over the line a little but they say it's ok but then log off of MSN during the conversation while you're trying to explain yourself and they're gone so you don't get to explain yourself so you're left holding the ball.

That shit sucks!

Try 1.35€/litre. Now, that's insane. Partly because of that I've started to ride my bike to work.

At cheapest beer costs 1,2875€/litre here, so beer is cheaper.

I'm gonna start drinking beer, not that I've been drinking gas until now.

I am thinking about running my car on vegetable oil...
I own an old diesel VWgolf, which looks more like it would run on steam
A friend of mine tried it once with his Lada Niva, for those who don't know what it looks like, it's a russian jeep- like thingy, ugly as hell, but climbs any off-road terrain better than a hummer

I turned my head to right and saw out of the window a blue tractor driving like 5km/hour.

Welcome to Mouhijärvi.
