I'd be curious to know what extremely unacceptable things were said/done by the people that were banned. Someone said Jim Jansen was banned for being a dick, and I remember hearing something similar, but could anyone be more particular?

No, really. He was an actual penis that would type by slapping his head against the keys.

His posts usually went a little like this: ";u;lzdfjpacfd ap;shrcpacyun[piuwghugbvyvibuh kbhgbb iuibnug iguybioupbaySsl"

I think people just got sick of it, so he got banned.
Comment in the BCS blog if you feel the need to.

Jim Jansen got banned for continually using homophobic langauge to describe myself - despite getting warned every time - and then by continuing to respond in a very immature and childish manner when I privately tried to discuss the issue with him - such that I felt it was impossible to discuss his behaviour with him at all and he gave no reason to suggest he wouldn't continue to behave in that manner. It wasn't that I found his comments at all offensive - in fact I thought they were hilarious and told pretty much all my friends about them. It's just that we have a very strong anti discrimination policy on the forum and also calling moderators bundles of sticks and other things in public is really not appropriate and if the person is un willing to discuss the topic we don't really have much choice. We don't want people who refuse to act in a mature manner at all times on the forum. It's fine to be childish on some occasions but I think if a mod starts messaging you telling you things like "if you don't start acting like an adult you will be banned" that's a good time not to tell them to go have anal sex with their brother and I think if you're incapable of understanding why that is - as Jim obviously was - then we'd prefer it if you didn't post on the forum. Although we may give him another chance at some stage.
