any other footbaggers write? got any pics of your pieces or sketches?

id LOVE to go bombin in a different city at a footbag tournament sometime.

even if you dont write and youre just an enthusiast talk about what kinda styles you like or link to some of your favorite artists shit.

or if you despise graffiti post why, and we can discuss!

i got into it like a month ago and i love it. im just starting to get a bit of recognition on the local scene. my favorite local writers are MUK and HOTHEAD. MUK used to footbag, but now writes exclusively (and it shows!) and he taught me a lot when i was first getting into it. you can check out some HOTHEAD shit on filthadelphia.net.

as cool as it looks, im not a huge fan of wildstyle. i usually like more basic looking pieces. not even basic really but just not wildstyle. even semi wild is cool.

I dislike that 99.999934779% of those are bullshit scribbles that neither enhance the surrounding area or bring value to an otherwise drab surface. It's not art, it's crap, go practice on some cardboard.

punk kids spray painting name onto stuff they don't own. I pissed off my rooftop onto some kid tagging my dumpster the other day. That act would be more rightfully classified as expressive art than the painting.

ill! stixone is nasty, i love the hornet character with the respirator on. also the octopuss that you have is nasty too. crazy skills! noone in my local area does characters

Tsiangkun: i dunno, i can see where people would find tagging ugly, and i think SOME tags are ugly (and some pieces for that matter) but its really not scribble. to me it feels like a better way for local artists to kind of know each other. for one, tags can be put nearly anywhere, where as pieces or even throw ups (like a quick piece) take more time and in a real risky spot, you might only have time for a tag. so say ill be driving through philly or something, i might not make it to that real hidden spot where a nice HOTHEAD or BASE piece is gonna be, but i might see a quick hand/oneliner/tag and i can be like "OOO HOTHEAD!" haha. i dunno...its hard to explain if you dont write..

dude you should start an exhibition of you peeing all over kids faces. im sure lots of people would pay to see it

whoa ok, i think your generalizing a bit there. not everyone who writes tags is a kid, or a lowlife. chill with that.

i agree that if all you can do is tag thats pretty lame. but hey you gotta start somewhere. i wouldnt bash someone putting a video of like consecutive toestalls up on modified.

also by your logic, youre saying if a really sick writer who has mad nice pieces up, you wouldnt mind if they tagged? it still looks like a tag whether you have pieces or not. that doesnt really make sense to me.

I think all tags are lame, but I like murals and pictures. I think people should start with a big ole slab of cardboard.

great website for Grafitti art and what not...lots of really good stuff on that site, ull deffinetly like it alot. I used to do some Grafitti when i was younger because im a somewhat decent cartoonist, but ive ditched the grafitti and just stick to drawing now. I just like looking at other peoples work.

word. murals are deffinately sweet. i like when theyre really nicely done but still have the graffiti-esque attitude to it.

hahah i actually did that with the cardboard when i was first starting, just to get a feel for the cans. what i really want is a giant piece of wood i can skool new shit on, then just roll the whole thing white and keep starting over. though not really for the fact that i care if people think what i do is an eyesore, but to put up stuff that looks nice to me with speed. speed is deffinately key.

TO NATHAN: stencils are nifty, id like to try one sometime.

TO TROYSON: yea artcrimes is a phat site, i just ordered some caps from them actually. Some SICK stuff on there for sure. on the home page, under "DARK"s section, i love how he/she bombed 5 train cars with DARKone hahah thats so awesome. looks like it coulda been rolled too, im not sure. letter styles real simple, but HUGE

i started writing back in '97 at like the age of 12. i was semi serious about it untill about 2002. now i just do alot of sketching. i can't be bothered to go out any more because i'd rather be too tired at night because i have shredded my ass of during the day.
