Those are some intense pumpkin carvings. mine always come out horribly.

i thought the heading said, Vasek Pumpking carving. i thought his face was going to be on one haha

I wonder if it's just like sculpting. By which I mean, if you're a good sculptor, do you inherently possess mad pumpkin-carving skills? It would seem like a similar medium, just more pliable. I wish I could make more than the jagged smiley that every four year old can do.

I love carving pumpkins so much. I usually do four to six every halloween. I like doing "traditional" ones with faces, and also ones that create a silhouette of a spider or a ghost or something...

But the really fun ones are those which have no relation to Halloween at all.

ie: Merry Christmas.

Oh oh, a few years back, my brother and I made each of our jackolanterns as text emoticons.

i dont think that carving, that is more like scalpting, but amazing. i bet they have to find the perfect pumpkin for each project an i can imagen they rot fast.

i wonder what tools they use?
im sure its not done with the dot method

if you go to that site and read the faq there is some interesting stuff there ...

The guy who does them is a middle school teacher, uses regular tools like a spoon and knife, only spends about an hour per pumkin from start to finish, and isnt really picky about choosing pumpkins at all.
