Use your arms!!!
Use your arms!!!
Footbag would be wayyyyyyyyy cooler if players would be more creative with their arms.
Like doing ripwalks whilst using your arms to do chicken wings flapping is a million times better than without.
My mate was doing some disco moves and other dance moves.
I think this could be the evolution of footbag. Footbag-Dance.
Personally I am more of an artistic player. I try to be creative and make footbag thrilling, beautiful, and amazing.
I see alot of ppl who just plain old suck, but I won't mention any names (I will just subtlely say their names as I cough) *COUGH* Sam Colclough *COUGH*

This member listing should give you an idea of the desperate footbag situation in the UK. Meet Paul Truman, otherwise known as BuddhaSak:
I don't know, he's probably a good guy. But for the moment I'll leave off getting in touch with him.I am a 25 yr old who has been practising a new form of footbag for the last 10 years The footbag form that i founded called Buddha Sak incorporates martial art like disciplines and roots...deception and trickery hold high values in this art.. This form also incorporates the use of the hands.... Through use of this form the user expeiences spiritual balance and order I intend on unleashing this art once mastered , and assuring die hard footbaggers that the use of the hands can be implemented into footbag...and develop the game to further heights

Hmmm... sounds alright to me (except for the spiritual enlightenment bit) but it wouldn't really be FOOTbag then, would it? 'Using your hands' is very ambiguous, I wonder what he means by this?

That's a very strange way of going about it... how can you master something as complicated as footbag on your own?I intend on unleashing this art once mastered
Brian...if that's your real name...perhaps you should check out Bloughchi.

Well, in the game of footbag one name stands out like a shining star; that name is Steve Blough. The interview that follows is an attempt to get to know this man, “The Danceman”, a true living legend amongst legions of footbaggers world wide.
taken from a preface to an interview with mr bloughchi i haven't seen this interview before i'm gonna go read it, looks good.
i didn't know he was a legend amongst legions of us footbaggers

gosh. reading that shit is so frustrating. so many people wasting their time, so uninformed. the worst is the trick list he has. people that sent in tricks that they do that they assume is the ultimate.
"10. Super Dragonfly Kick - First kick the footbag up. Then pass your kicking leg over it from in to out. Then, jump and kick the footbag with the inside of the support leg. For example: bring the left leg over the footbag from in to out - then jump off the right leg and kick the footbag with the inside surface of the right foot and land on this leg. This is hard to do at first but don't get frustrated and just keep trying to do it.
7. Shoulder to Shoulder - Toe kick the footbag into a shoulder stall (right or left, it does not matter). Then toss the footbag to your opposite shoulder into another shoulder stall. From the shoulder stall drop the footbag down and Jester it and keep right on playing. James N. submitted this trick and won a free Worlds Logo Stalling Star.
23. Sweet Combo - Start with a toe stall. Kick it up and stall it on your head. Let it roll down to your back. Make sure to bend over so it stalls once again. Roll it down from your back to the back of your leg. Catch it in your knee pit to do a "Charlie Brown". Roll it down to your heel and kick it over your head for a "Rolling with Charlie" toe stall then "Jester" out of it."
stuff like that. its actually depressing. i remember looking at that stuff like two years ago and thinking it was the ultimate. *shudder* its so funny how EVERY trick submitted involves either a jester or a rainbow. i realize its fairly inactive now, but we should deluge the site with submissions of actual moves (especially really complex ones).

I know, its depressing and embarrassing. I cringe at it. I wrote them a professional like email a lil while ago. It probably won't do anything, but maybe enough emails can get a reform.

Dude! Sam rocks. He can do double ducking stuff! (I saw in a vid once)Zebra_Kid wrote:I see alot of ppl who just plain old suck, but I won't mention any names (I will just subtlely say their names as I cough) *COUGH* Sam Colclough *COUGH*
But I heard that he gets back problems so that has slowed down his progression. So it's not his fault.
Those kind of comments aren't helpful Zebra Kid!

BUT WE ARE USING OUR ARMS ALL THE TIME!
We use them to keep balance while shreding.
If we were using them to do some stupid chicken wings flapps, we would not be able to shred so hard. Arms are playing big part in most freestyle moves. We need them.

This had better be a joke.Zebra_Kid wrote: I see alot of ppl who just plain old suck, but I won't mention any names (I will just subtlely say their names as I cough) *COUGH* Sam Colclough *COUGH*
Seriously.
When I started playing footbag I watched the Sam Colcough vid (among others) from the 'Sessions' series of videos and that inspired me beyond words.
I hope you're kidding, or we ain't gonna meet on friendly terms.
