you sound like such a newbian.Johnny wrote:Thanks Camille! It was a good birthday too. I chilled with my family, and my girlfriend. It really couldn't have been much better.
I'm really happy right now, KICKASS was a great tournament, and it got me psyched about footbag, and life in general. Thanks Tom, and everyone else who helped organize, and run it.
VIDA! You're a really cool person. I felt bad because I know you weren't having the best night ever on saturday, but it made me feel good that I could make you smile a few times. I'm extremely appreciative for that footbag you made me. The stitching is superb, and I can't wait to break it in and shred with it. Soon, you will have a suderbag of your own!
Camille, it would definitely be cool if I could make it to Toronto for some chilling time. I was sad that you couldn't make it to kingston, but I know it was for the best so I'm happy you made the right decision. And no need to appologize for writing in my blog. I think its all relevant anyway.
I met soo many awesome people on the weekend it was unreal. Even the people that I had met before, I got to know a bit better.
Nick Laroche, not only has one of my favourite styles in footbag, but also one of my favourite personalities. You never stopped amazing me with your skills and wit, it was definitely a pleasure.
Matt Cross, I don't only respect you as an awesome freestyler but as an artist as well. Your footbag song was by far the best song I've ever heard, and I found it astounding that you could summarize my thoughts and feelings about footbag in such a catchy, fun, and unique form. I don't think I'll ever forget that. I can't wait until you get the .mp3 up. Thanks.
Ianek, you fucking rock! I had a great time talking to you, and listening to you jam on the drums. Thanks for helping me/ letting me help you judge and score the competitions. Is there going to be a Montreal Jam this/next year? I definitely want to see that happen, I'd try my hardest to make that.
Claudia, I had the best time talking to you. I'm aware that a lot of what we talked about was nothing near exciting, but I still enjoyed it a lot. I'm sorry if I bugged you or anything, I couldn't help it though. Very Happy My shred has never before been compared to cursive writing, but I'm taking that as a good thing. I'll definitely get some of those pink airplane smoke jet thingys so I can strap them to my heels, by the next time we shred. Hopefully that isn't too long, or I might implode.
Jon Haber, you are my single most favourite footbagger ever. You are as kind as anyone could ever be, and I am forever in debt of you, because I had such an awesome time last weekend. I need to make a trip to Guelph sometime soon so we can shred some more. We didn't get to play nearly long enough.
Thanks to everyone really, for the memories, the shred, and the good times. I can't wait to skool myself this winter, in the dungeon that is my basement.
...and i love it.
- I'm waiting for a review of the event, and shredding with you again

I simply want to shred with everybody who was there, again. Claudia, I didn't get a chance to shred with you. I was a little sad about that!

Thanks for the kind words everyone.
Sorry ken, I wouldn't expect to see any video soon. I've got a lot of work to do, and a lot of things to skool. I promise the next video will be worth watching . I'll try to film somewhere besides the dungeon.
I had a good short session just now, and I hit a bunch of new stuff for me. Too bad my lower back started to hurt, or it would have been even better. I'm sure it will feel better tomorrow, and I'll have another good session.

yo johnny,
it was great hanging with you again at KICKASS. I'm really glad you liked my song. I definitely appreciate you saying so. I hope to put it together on a recording soon.
Props on blowing up the tournament, your shred was awesome. See ya... when? Chilly Philly?

I suppose it is about time I write in my blog again.
Not much has happened for me footbag-wise since KICKASS. I've schooled a bit here and there, but school has been keeping me busy for the last little while. I imagine after the end of next week my school schedule will lighten up and I'll have time to deal with the rest of my life. That means more skooling!
Some tournaments are coming up, so I'm really psyched about that. I'm not really at the top of my game, but hopefully I will be by that point. The two contenders are the NYJ and the Rochester Jam. Although as time passes the Rochester Jam seems to be less and less likely to happen. Thats sad because a lot of people I know are going there and I'll miss the opportunity to shred with them again. On the other hand, it looks like the Chicago Jam is a go. I'm still waiting for permission. I've barely met ANYONE going to this jam, its going to be crazy how many new footbaggers I meet! It'll also be cool to see all of the people that I haven't seen since Funtastiks (02?).
I'm also really excited to shred with Jon Haber this weekend, I don't think him and I have ever sessioned together with no one else. It should be a wicked time.
I miss so many people from KICKASS its unreal. I'm not going to mention any names because I'm lazy. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE
I suppose another video of me is due. I'll try to edit the footage I have from the session with Jorden, and get that online sometime relatively soon.

The shred with Jon was really fun, I think he summarized it best so I'm not going to bring that back up. I hope I can shred with him again before he goes back home.
Lately I haven't found much time to practice footbag, so I've decided that starting today I will get up early and try to do the morning footbag routine. Has anyone else tried doing this, and did it work very well? I'm usually really groggy in the morning, so I dont know what to expect. I guess any practice is better than none.
It's awesome that I'm getting flown to Chicago! I can't wait, even though I know I'll miss everyone a lot when I go.
I came close to hitting my 252 Shred30 dropless again. It still needs a bit of skooling. I think that I can make some of the links easier too, so that it won't be all that hard. I can usually hit it with only one drop, but I suck in competition so that will probably translate to 2+.
I'm completely obsessed with downloading new videos now! Thanks go to everyone that has made a video, for their shred and for their time. Especially Tuukka for the Christmas calendar videos. If it wasn't for these videos I would probably try to cut out modified from my life to make more time for playing footbag, but since I get a lot of my motivation from online videos that wouldn't be very productive. Thanks again!
I'll try to have a more proper session tomorrow morning, and I'll report anything worth while.

The morning sessions are still happening, but I don't think they're as effective as having a session at night, or after school. I'll keep it up and then decide I guess.
I shred with Tom Mosher today! YEA! It was a fun session for me, because I had a pretty good footbag day. And when people come visit to shred it is a super-sweet treat.
Tom's shredding was awesome! He's improved a lot since KICKASS, and it was really fun being able to session with him. Its too bad he had sore feet from his new shoes, because at the end the shred kind of died down. We had a little juggling session too, that was fun. Doubles juggling is something that I can see myself getting into. So good. It's always fun to take non-footbag related breaks. We talked stitching for a while. I'm soooo envious of his footbag collection its unreal. I ended up giving him a bag that I stitched for a trade. I can't wait to get mine in return, because his newer bags are soo good. I highly recommend trying them out. GO TOM! It'll be sweet to shred again, the next chance we get.
I didn't hit anything phenominal but I still had some new stuff. I don't hit new things very often so I was pretty psyched. Some things were (Tom, if you can think of anything else let me know):
- Torture Rack
- Xanabox Drill
- DSO X 11
- symp Double Downs pretty consistently
- Superfly > Fog
- Inspinning Clipper > Inspinning Clipper
- some decent strings
There will be AT LEAST one session to be had in Toronto before I go to Chicago. I'm really looking forward to that.
I only have one thing to work on for school, and then its smooth sailing into the holidays.
I've never been more eager to learn.
