Fearless: less paradox, less whirl
The difference with pdx blender is that it is pretty hard to do another 5 out of, the only thing you can really do 'easily' out of pdx blender is a downtime 5 or a ducking 5, stepping/spinning/nuclear are all alot harder out of blender than out of dod/whirl.ana_ali wrote:I was going to say something about naming "fearless bails" as well. That should really be done.
Or are they just Pdx Whirl tricks? How about Blenders?
Any 5 add move which has a pdx whirl component is relatively easy in my opinion. I can hit ps whirl and pdx blender off pretty much any clipper, so they both are definite "5 add bails" to me. Ultimately, none of this matters. All I was pointing out is that your last argument isn't very persuasive ("pdx blender isn't a baily 5 because its hard to link another 5 after it").
This thread reminds me why I normally don't post in these sorts of threads.
Whatever, go out and shred. People know what's hard and impressive, and what's easy. When I see non pdx-whirling fearless, I certainly give it much more props than ps whirl-pdx blender-ps whirl-spinning whirl. I also give more props to atom smashers than osi. We all know whats hard, and thats what it boils down to.

I still don't agree with the whole easy 5's thing... These 5's are easy for me, too, but in all honesty it's just a matter of what's easy to conceptualize for you and what components you have dialed. You can't make moves fearless bails, because they -aren't bails for everyone-. I find tomahawk incredibly difficult. I find fog and spinning ducking 5's pretty easy. If you made tomahawk a bail 5 and the others not (and say gave the bails less merit in some manner) then you would just end up with me doing lots of combos with those types of moves. You just end up saying, "It's sooo boring to see him hit all of those spinning ducking and dlo fearless combos. Throw something interesting for once! That's aaall you do! Fog must be so easy for you that it doesn't have a <insert difficulty reductor here>! Because of that <difficulty reductor> let's take some points away from the move, then we'll see some variation!" It doesn't make any sense to make. There are people who have troubles with pdx whirl moves.

BECAUSE ITS HARD!!!Erik Chan wrote: Nobody does enough of these kinds of fearless combos.
and btw, since when is blurry whirlx2>PS whirlx2>spinning whirl>tomahawk x2 easy????? phoenix, pdx torque, pixie paradon and riptide are all easier for me than tomahawk.
if 5's are too easy for you don't worry about adds!!!
Yeah. Bullwhip is so rare move in runs and etc.
I have a though to create new description for runs... like we have all this guiltless, tripless, fearless.... Just add whirless
So you can hit Whirless tripless run, whirless fearless, whirless beast.

And whirless, at least with my not very good pronunciation, not to say horrible, sounds so similary to wireless....

Yeah.. of course. Every concept like this, which makes things harder would be cool. Like... Dexless tripless would be really hard. And every other.Nagasake wrote:Word, Nate!
What is with this anti-whirl sentiment
Whirless tripless is stupid... It's not even an overused concept. Frankly, I would like to see whirl-centric tripless. How about shuffle-less tripless instead?
Sorry about the hijack. This is my last post in the thread.
But I proposed whirless because this topic is actually about less paradox whirls... And I actually think that they're so boring...

*cough* Hijack *cough*
I didn't start this as any prejudice against whirls -- I love whirls, especially blenders. It's just boring to see 90% of fearless combos dominated by them. It's like everyone strives to hit the same combos as the best players, you know? And so everybody gets locked in this one way of doing things.
My friend Mark Leeman started hitting spinning clipper > spinning butterfly > spinning osis only one one side, and all the time, because he saw Ryan Mulroney hitting that combo all the time when he began and thought it was awesome because the best player in the world was hitting it. Then bothsidedness became a huge part of the sport and he told this story to explain why he had never skooled the combo on his flip.
I think the belief that some of the "harder" moves are way harder than whirl moves is only a mental barrier. They are only "harder" because fewer people hit them as often -- they are foreign. Bullwhip really isn't THAT hard. I remember a time when only a handful of people in the world could hit superfly, or when nemesis was never even hit (or even considered hittable), I remember when a quad dex was considered impossible, nevermind a quint.
It's not that "we"'ve become better that we can now hit these tricks (easily), but that we've seen that they can be hit easily and believe it can be done. So go hit void > janiwalker [repeat], make it look easy, and start something new. And while you're at it, stop hijacking threads, or at least go make your own.

Yes... I totally see the monotonousness (is that even a word?
) in pdx whirl based fearless strings... not that I'm anywhere near that level and of course it's fine for beginning fearless, but I think anything that encourages experimentation and variety can only be a good thing... how can you be against this? We should be pushing the limits, not conforming to the status quo!! Give us variety!! (Goes and drills butterfly > pdx mirage...
)
pixie ss symp whirl > ducking pdx drifter > spinning ducking osis > inmobius > janiwalker > whirr > torquescrew
I think this combo would look phat. Pixie ss symp whirl by itself... is just beautiful... ducking pdx drifter with no plant into spinning is butter instead of margerine... and the rest of the combo is just icing on the cake.
