I'm glad we found a powercord to run out of my window for your ipod dude. It made things much more festive. I'm glad to have met you Dan, and I'm going to work real hard to catch up to you! You'll see! We should meet up the next time I go home to Toronto. I hope that bag is breaking in well and that that one hole was the last. :) You either owe me a magic game, or a CS game for that bag. I refuse for footbag to negate my nerdom.

Definitely see you again Dan. Good luck with everything and work hard!

Hey Dan, I'm looking forward to the rest of your summary. Don't forget to mention all the four square we played; you always seemed willing to join in. Props on giving us tunes too.

I'm sure I'll see you again. Good luck with the drills!

I kinda forgot to finish my Kickass summary. But I think that anyone who was keeping up on all the Kickass stuff knows: it was awesome. I can honestly say that not only did it improve my footbagging, but it just made me feel so damned good to really hang out with footbag people for a full weekend. I love footbag!!!

On the front of me learning new stuff, I definitely have some sweet new things!!! I've still been working on the mirage>sameside mirage drill. It's getting tighter, but nowhere near where I want it to be. I finally figured out how to do a crossbody rake! It's really fun! Although I haven't really mastered it yet. And I only got it one side. But I got it a few times! Also, my symposium mirage is getting a lot better too. I'm really drilling my flipside on that one, hopefully soon I can do it bothsides. Last, but definitely not least I finally got....:

Legover!!! Today! At work! YEAH!!! YEAH YEAH YEHA YEAH YEAH!!! The reason why I'm so pumped about this is because it's my FIRST OUT TO IN DEX. Already I'm starting to get out to in atws. I still have a while till I can do pickups/legovers/atws with my flipside, but still!!! I'm soo pumped!

I LOVE FOOTBAG.

Not too much new stuff lately. Although the other day I hit a flipside clipper and it felt similar to winning the lottery. But I haven't hit it since. Uhhh, I also got (once) clipper>butterfly. Which, if I'm not mistaken, is kinda a step closer to infinities, which would be really sweet. Oh! And I ducked some inside stalls, as well as some clippers, annnnd, last but not least, I got spinning clipper. Other than that though, I'm still working to get to a point where I can get a decent string length. I was discussing with Adam Greenwood, and I kinda set a goal of basically not moving on to 3-add tricks until I can get 20 contacts tiltless. Right now I'm sitting at maybe 5 or 6 contacts. I've got a ways to go.

I had my test to get my drivers license the other day. I was really pumped about it, I guess a little too pumped. I failed it unfortunately, and am gonna have to take it again in like, a week. I feel like getting a car should open up a bunch of doors, but at the same time it's gonna be rough. My (really) low paying job at the hospital is beginning to really get to me. I don't mind the job...as a matter of fact, I LOVE the job. I don't want to quit at all. It has decent contacts for stuff that I'm interested in career-wise, and it's pretty easy. But I only get 200 bucks every two weeks. Minus 100 for tuition every paycheck and I'm only getting 100 bucks every two weeks to myself. Then the band wants to record a cd. 300 bucks. Gotta press those cds too! 300 more bucks. And I'm STILL paying my first semester's tuition. Like, it's stupid. So basically I have barely any money to begin with, and I'm trying to juggle that with smoking cigarettes and weed and it basically means that for 8 out of the 14 days it takes me to get my paycheck, I'm broke. So yeah, driving around is gonna be pretty stupid to pay for too. I need a job that has money to pay me.

I'm also a bit of a mess socially as well. I can't find any girls that are interested in me and it blows. Although I dunno where I'd find the time for it, but...I dunno. I haven't had a girlfriend yet and I'm in first year of college. It's time to remedy this, y'know? Anyhow, that's basically all that's going on with me, lavers on and lavers off. I guess I'll make another post the next time I blow my own mind with a new trick.

I just read through my footblog and realized that even though it's only been 3-4 months (started mid august) I think I've made a lot of progress, and that makes me feel damned good. This is basically just an overall 'thanks' to the modified community. Not only does this board gives me something to do when I'm not playing footbag or sitting in class, but everyone helps so much with learning new stuff and posting videos and stuff. I'm just so pumped about footbag and the kind of direction it's taking me in. I look and feel more healthy than I ever have ever, and I never thought it was possible. Today I just filmed some shred and my manboobs WEREN'T bouncing. Which means they're finally going away!!! I love footbag.

TODAY I HIT LEGOVER BSOS!!!

That's my first bothsided dex, AND I got it bsos!!! Nobody can mess with me!!! Hahaha. I'm trying to hit ducking clipper, but I need to work on my flipside clipper a bit first. And by a bit, I mean a lot....and by a lot, I mean that I still have to land it. But I'm on my way!!!! YEAH!!!

Thanks for the support, Modified! Hopefully one day I'll meet you all!!

Shredded with Seath and Mosher this past weekend. It was great fun, and it reminded me about how AWESOME CHRISTMAS BREAK IS GONNA BE. I'm pumped to play with all the toronto crewers, and Peng and Mosher, and some other ontario shredders too!

I've been playing a lot lately, trying to get my string consistency half decent so I don't make a fool of myself at the Rochester NYJ. I love footbag so much. SO MUCH. SO MUCH!!! I gotta start making some goals and reaching them! Anyhow, I'm off to play. Peace!

Oh man. I'm really pumped. I've been skooling pretty hard lately, and I'm really starting to get my flip clipper more consistent. I can get it more than once a day, which is a huge improvement. Also, I've been working on getting my atws to be uptime...before they were downtime, and sloppy looking kinda.

I CONVERTED A HACKYSLACKER!!! Yessssss!!!! Keep your eyes open, I think if this kid gets his head into it, he could definitely be another good player! He's got some adidas superskates, which aren't bad, kinda laverish in shape. Anyway, he can do atws bothsides and sameside mirages and that stuff. SO I'm proud. It's like giving birth.

You're getting so good Daniel! The last video of humber shred I saw, you were great in it. I need to play catch up or something.

I wish I were at the Toronto shred today, but alas, I'm drunk as fuck and I am about to buy another pair of Lavers. I need to get back out there and make the bachelor throw up now. Maybe get him to lick my boot.

G'nite Skippy! We've got to get together sometime soon!

WOOOOOOOO Peng!!! Well, as soon as is possible, missus!!!!

HOLY COW TORONTO SHRED!!!! I think there is not a better way that I could start my holiday ever EVER. So sick, and here's how it went down for me:

I wake up at 11am, from my phone ringing. I'm supposed to be on a bus on my way to my highschool 30 minutes ago. Oops. Anyway, the phone call is my buddy calling to confirm the meeting at highschool. I confirm, but tell him I'm gonna be a little late. Anyway, I threw on my shorts and a little t-shirt and my lavers and shredded a bit in my basement, nothing too awesome on account of it being my first few minutes of being awake. I smoke a doob, and then eventually throw on my clothes and head out to pick up cigs and go to the bus. I regret starting smoking, lately... I know it's detrimental to footbag and that eventually I'm gonna have to stop if I want my string length to be better I think.

So I get on the bus and sit on it till South Common Mall, then transfer to go to the GO station. At the go station I transfer to get to my school. And an hour and a half later, I get to the school. Not too much shred. Really short, nothing big. Just more warm up basically. I hang with friends for a few hours, and hop on the bus towards Toronto. This consists of 1 transfer at square 1 mall, then after a 2 hour bus ride, transfer onto the subway and then take it to the shred spot, all in all after getting lost....twice....walking to the shred spot, it took me 3 hours to get to the spot, and get shreddin'.

6pm. Shred begins with Adam Greenwood. His friend Adrian (A.B.?) as well as another fellow whose name I have since forgotten, and of course, myself. The startup shred was pretty good. Adam hit some pretty sweet tricks while "warming up" and I was pumped for some real shred. So we shredded for prolly an hour and a half or so (maybe more) of course filming it all. Some sick stuff was hit. We stopped to take a break after a while and go outside for a smoke. While outside, Camille joins us!! It was really cool meeting up with Camille for the first time. We've talked over the webbernet aplenty, and shredding with her was wicked fun. More to be had over the holiday. ;) Camille joins shred and one of Adam's friends ducks out of shred to study rocket scientistry or something. More shred is had....I wish I could recall exactly what happened. I know for a fact that I got SPINNING CLIPPER. As well, I was HARDCORE schooling my flip clipper and it's getting tighter!!!! I've also been trying a few diving links. So far I've gotten DIVING CLIPPER a few times...at least I think that's what it's called. Woooo! I'm working pretty hard lately. Anywho, we shredded for a while and then Adam's buddies peaced out. More and more and more shred!!! Then Camille's friend (or at least that's who I figured he must've been) Mike came by. He's a good guy. As long as he keeps shredding and stays confident about his abilities, he'll be a good player, I think.

MORE TO COME LATER GOTTA LEAVE WORK

It was awesome finally meeting you, Dan! You are a really cool guy, and damn funny too! I think we get along really well. :)

Can't wait to play and chill with you more! Jon is coming down next week to play if you wanna join. Hopefully Johnny and Jorden can come too. I don't think the trek down here will be half as bad, now that the storm has passed. And even if it is, it's worth it. :P

Anyway, keep up the good work! Your bum knees certainly don't seem to slow you down! But do remember to do Tom's swirly knee underwear dance!

Holy crap! I haven't posted in here in a while. That toronto shred was quite some time ago.

There's been a lot of shredding since then. I've had a pretty exciting winter so far, and I'm loving every bit of it. I've done some shredding with Camille a bit more regularly, which is probably I have to say the highlight of the past few months. Ever since I started footbag, I've been really wanting to have someone that I can shred with kind of regularly, someone that I can push to get better, and that can also push me to get better too! Already I think I've definitely learned some new techniques and concepts that've had a really good effect on my game.

I've been really schooling stuff that I shouldn't be working on to begin with, but sometimes I have trouble holding myself back. Let's see here:

clipper>diving butterfly (gotten close, but haven't quite hit it yet)
dada curve (again, I've gotten pretty close but so far it's pretty thin looking.)
clipper>gyro mirage
clipper>diving pickup

OH! And I've ALMOST gotten my flip clipper...but still not consistent at all. I dunno, I feel like I'm progressing, but I wish I could do it much faster!!!! I just need more shred with people and maybe soon I'll get even better!

Rochester was really fun! I had a good time, and enjoyed playing with people and getting new bags...however....I played like utter shit that weekend, and was pissed about it the whole time. The consistency of my game is reallllllllllly bad. Some days I'll be able to shred really good, and hit some stuff I've never even thought of hitting. Other days, I'll be so pumped and prepped to play, and I'll barely be able to toe stall. I dunno if I can attribute this to problems that I've had with fine motor skills since I was a little kid, or if it just happens to everyone. But yeah. Sometimes I have reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally bad days. Unfortunately, Rochester was just that point in my game where I didn't really have much anywhere to go forward to begin with, and then I sucked ass, basically just multiplying my overall suckage by 2.

Anyway, I love footbag still, and although she can be mean sometimes...she'll never leave me! I know it! Thanks anyone who reads this. Feel free to leave comments...suggestions...or newbie challenges in here.

Consistency is one of the hardest things in footbag. Just trust that it will slowly improve over time. The important thing is not to compare your progress to anybody else's, and let the game come to you. Good meeting you in Rochestah, hopefully we will both have good shred days next time we meet. Keep at it!

Keep at it. I know it's sort of depressing seeing these people that have kicked under a year and are hitting huge stuff, but just remember that you're in it for you. It doesn't matter it if takes three years to get to that point or if it even ever comes, as long as you can continue to have fun with the game and constantly challenge yourself. : )

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MAN

Today was basically an eye opener for me and footbag. I was in the shower this morning trying to figure out what I was doing wrong with my pixie and stepping sets. After much splashing about and knocking the soap off the shelf, I decided I had finally figured it out. Over the New Years break, while I was in Rochester, Jorden and Mosher were trying pretty damned hard to get me to understand how to do pixies right, and I just didn't get it. I was just trying to position myself in such a way that made me feel kinda like a pretzel. Anyway, I left Rochester with what they had told me to try going through my head, and drilled the shit out of it at my house, but still, to no avail. Pixies were starting to really make me think that I might not ever get uptime stuff.

That all changed this afternoon. After my practice in the shower, I came down to this here basement that I'm writing from, and drilled with the new position...annnnd...I HIT IT. I actually got it so that my leg was dexing the bag on the way up, and not the way down!!!!!! It's not fully clean yet, and I don't think I have the momentum behind it that I need to start shuffling, but I'm getting SOOOOOOOO close. As I skooled, I tried:

Pixie Mirage
Pixie Op Pickup
Pixie Op Legover

I also schooled a little bit of flipside...but... it's pretty weak, of course.

The point is I'M GETTING CLOSER TO SHUFFLE!!! It makes me so stoked to the nth degree. My stepping set hasn't yet been landed. It hits my thigh every time. BACK TO SKOOLIN

HOLY SHIT I HIT SMEAR FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER. It's my first ever trick with an uptime component!!!!!!!!!! The best part is that I hit it in socks....which is making me wonder if I should cut my toe walls...and/or get some climas. I think I need to get some climas. If any of you clima fiends are reading this (Matt? Tom?) I think I need a pair. But I need somebody to do the hunting. I dunno where to look. Anyway, I gotta get back to sock shredding. We'll see if I can hit something else.
