I take offense to use of the term 'nerd', and would prefer to be identified by my correct social status, "geek".

I've been drinking grolsch swing caps lately in an attempt to gather enough bottles for my Quaffable White beer.

I wish there was a good beer in a swing cap bottle, but I"ll make due with what is available.

i tried to brew beer once. i screwed the temps up so it turned out ookie. haha yeah i think we also figured it would be cheaper to drink beer and re-use the bottles than buy brand new ones.
i had some more baltika(1-9) and i liked everything i tried. i especially liked the porter. baltika rocks my socks!!!

I know this is an old thread by now, but I couldn't resist (much like it's hard to resist a good beer). Instead of pitching my favorite beer, I want to pitch my favorite beer book ("The Brewmaster's Table : Discovering the Pleasures of Real Beer with Real Food" by Garrett Oliver, brewmaster of the Brooklyn Brewery) and beer website (http://beeradvocate.com/ - Respect Beer. Drink Craft Beer!). Both of these references are PACKED with great info. Highly recommended!

on euros 2005 in poland i tasted a brandly new polish beer.

it´s called "dog in the fog" and it tasted sweeeet. very malty and a bit softer, than the usual beer i drink. oh and they have pretty cool beer bottles. the size is 0,66 l.
i just can tell you, if you see somewhere a "dog in the fog", try it!

If any of you come to Missoula, Montana for any reason (other than MFJ 3), try Bayern (pronounced by-urn), try the Trout Slayer ale. It's pretty damned good. I first had Trout Slayer when I was 16 and I was fishing with my brother in the mountains and I caught my biggest rainbow ever when we were drinking it, so it's been amongst my favorite beers (actually it is my favorite). Don't know why I didn't say so until now, but it is. Oktoberfest (lager) by Bayern is a close second along with Maibock (lager). Moose Drool from Big Sky is also a great ale.

yeah natty ice is the shit. I've been drinkin a lot of Heffeweisen(spelling?) lately. That stuff is just so good. As far as just my standard party beer, bud light bottle's pretty sweet. Guiness is awesome when you're in the mood for it. And Tsing Ha is another favorite of mine that is best drank while eating sushi. It's actually a malt liquor, but you'd never know it. It tastes more like a white wine-beer hybrid.

Mnnuuugghh...it's still better than Keystone light in my book. Good old college days when all you get is shitty domestic beer. I try to stick to the dankness that's not too expensive, yet doesn't taste like shit.

Steemwhistle. Anyone mentioned this one? I pretty much drink this one every time I go out lately. They serve it on BOTH campuses at my university. GREAT beer brewed right in toronto. Bonus points for being canadian and from being ontarian too!

canadian: Rickard red/pale, Moosehead (favourite), Steemwhistle, Heritage (ottawa!) and molson canadian for those nights when you only have like 30 dollars and wanna get hammered.

Just outta curiousity what Canadian beers can you get on tap in Europe/ anywhere else that isnt north america?

LOL at Lon, I agree alcohol is a bad bad DRUG, worse than many illegal ones. But Im a Hophead I love pale ale, I just had a few Two Hearted Ale from Bell's brewery and they are tasty!! Also Sierra Nevada Celebration ale is out right now and that is oh so good!!

I visited my Grandma for Thanksgiving and left a couple of great belgian beers (St. Bernadus ABT 12) in her basement to help make sure I see her again soon

This evening I am pursuing an nice buzz via "The Pursuit of Happiness" winter warmer beer brewed locally by Clay Pipe Brewing Company, Westminster Maryland. Me and Nate Linscott had a rack of this brew the last time he was at my house for Christmas shred time. It was epic and right now it's treating me well.

It started snowing out where I lived yesterday, so I took a 6 pack of Hefenweizen out into the woods with my dog and drank them while she ran around in the snow. I wasn't even bummed by the fact that my lighter had gotten wet and that I couldn't light a cig either.

Anyways, drinking in the snow is wonderful. Try it.

That Nate Linscott is a beer drinking fool. He stopped by the crib this weekend and sampled everything I left in my cellar.

We had the barely wine : A remarkably smooth ale brewed for 4 months, a special offering for your holiday gatherings. Featuring warrior hops and in house roasted barely, these 22oz magnums pack a punch. 16-19%ABV

We had some of my california crisp: A lite version of the barely wine, brewed using yeast cultured from Anchor Steam. Lite, crisp, and entirely better suited for a warm day. 5%ABV

We had the honey cream porter: A robust and heavy porter brewed with oatmeal and lactose for residual sweetness and a creamy mouth feel. 7%ABV

We also put away the brown ale.: This beer is the definition of world class. A robust pallete full of grains specially roasted, toasted, and smoked in house, presented with a little residual sweetness from honey. Five different hops finish filling out the flavor of this beer. 6-8%ABV

Nate also walked away with one of the XMAS ale specials : A holiday ale, light on the hops. Flavor is derived from a blend of black and white pepper, nutmeg, cardamon seeds , coriander seeds, orange peel, and paradice seeds.

This brewing thing has turned into quite the hobby. 6x12oz are currently selling for $10, and the 22oz bombers of barely wine are getting $15 a piece. I'm currently out of stock until February, when I will begin offering the first in a series of three limited editon iiPA and IPA brews.
