Welcome to the ludicrous World of mine!

Post by Daniel »

Hello dear Modified,

first off I'd like you all to indulge with my blog intro, I had so many ideas how to start this thingy..

I will report in this Blog all the Stuff that comes to my mind, whether it's footbag related or not.
I am Daniel Meyer, 19 Years old from Frankfurt (and member of the Frankfurt Footbag e.V.). I am playing Freestyle, Golf (more or less unsuccessful :D - I shot both of my drivers into the lake on Monday along with Thorsten and Stefan and Phipson later on).
As I'm playing mostly of my Shredtime with other Players (mainly the Frankfurt Crew), you fellows will have the possibility to snatch some news/progress reports from them..

Tricks me, myself and i can do:

Toe, Inside, Clipper(weak) [del]
Then mainly all 2nd Adds I encountered yet like legover, mirage (illusion needs practice) etc.
Pixie, Fairy, well, hard to continue then, Stepping (left (flip) side rather weak). - sets 'Stängsen/Stengze' can do
3 Adds
Butterfly (Infinity) - Record is 8 in a row, did twice in croatia
Paradox ~
Mirage - bsos
Legover - bsos
Illusion - rather weak
Symposium ~
Mirage - hit once bsos first attempt in croatia, don't work anymore
Illusion - not worth to be wasted a thought on..

you got me on this one daryl :)
Pixie Mirage - Smear - bsos, flipside set needs practice, but I got the hang out of that, pretty close tho
Pixie Illusion - same
Pixie Butterfly - same

4 Adds:
Ripwalk - actually both sides, tho my flipside still needs a lot of excercise (weak clippers, gotta work on my infinities)
PS Mirage - never hit, don't really get that by now - can't understand all of that ps stuff

That's all for the Tricks now.

And of course, i'll try to update this blog as often as i can.

Today's Session, Tuesday, 04th of Octobre:

Had a nice little Session for approximately 2h with Stefan Siegert, who is visiting Frankfurt right now (leaves tomorrow). He hit insane Stuff, a run with at least 10x5adds and 4 new 6add moves like spinning blender, symposium quantum butterfly swirl and insane stuff like that.
I enjoyed the train as far as it was possible, we were entertained by 3 young - well, foreign kids, who were actually interested in beating each others up, yes. One of them even insisted on showing Stefan how to break his neck by smashing him with his shinbone..mhhhmk!
As they left and we continued to shred, Stefan hit Jackknife 1st time, twice in runs.
And i was soooooooooooooooooooo close to hit Blizzard (only strong side of course), but i missed to hit it.
Awesome session, tho school was really fucked up today, overslept the first two hours (math, i suck horribly in this class), and german lessons where totally crap, and i even provoked my teacher until he screamed at me.. bla :?

I'm looking forward to tomorrow to fetch the last opportunity to play with Stefan as soon as i can slit a slice of his enthusiasm and skill (!) and use it to boost up in style, body knowledge, concentration and understandment of footbag, coz i see footbag somehow as a way of living, which makes the life brighter..somehow :P

That's all for now, greets to all the people i know reading this \o/

Daniel (Stängsen)

Todays Session, Wed 05.10. 05:
Well, hard to use the term Session here :)
Did a little warmup, hit some Smears and Pixie Legover, always ending in a weird looking stepping attempt to hit either blizzard or ripwalk. Thorsten joined Stefan and me about thirty or so minutes later and then after a short while, Phillip arrived.
He did a couple of Pictures with a Spiegelreflex Cam, and then the film got trashed inside of the cam (the film fell out, dense pics).
Then we went to his Place and had a nice coming together on his roof with an astonishing sight of the skycrazers; we really enjoyed the last sunbeams on this late beginning of autumn.
Then Stefan and Thorsten left. I hope that I'll have the possibility to join the Fc Footstar Birthday next year to meet him and Players like Virak again.

And on Friday I am leaving for 6 Days (Studienfahrt) to BERLIN! YES! \o/

I will continue when I am back or early out of Berlin. :)

Aw, I'm back!
What a week, full of sightseeing, historical information² and alcohol.
Skipping the inessential part: I HIT BLIZZARD!
Yes! I had a Session with Max from Berlin on Tuesday (i was lucky that my teacher allowed me to leave the historical tracks) in Kreuzberg at the infamous "Platte".
The Park was full of kids and people enjoying the last sunshine of the day (as we did), and the atmosphere was cool.
Tim joined us later and we had a little circle.
Ole had his Birthday on Tuesday (well, Monday, he had the party on monday night) where i met all of the Footstar Crew and even Zimmer, the old house :D
So much for now, I'm wasted

heydiho back again.

Well, of course ebo is right, i forgot another thing yet. My tremendous skills in 4square. But, to be honest, I am mainly good at 4square cursing and swearing, or, to put me in a better light, if I am on the court (or the queue) there is swearing. :P

Yesterday's Training
Had a delay of approx 45mins or more due to another appointment. I am casually hosting a radio show that is supposed to be telling the hottest out of the underground for each night (parties, concerts etc.).
Arriving at the spot i found two net courts occupied with 4 teams, business as usual. But then, turning to the freestylers, i saw two kids from a little suburb of Wiesbaden, the capital of the state Hessen. Clemenz and Julian, both are hitting advanced stuff like pixie ducking and stuff (clemenz is even off the hook, blurriest, searching set etc.). Still they aint doin any kind of basics like all 2nds and stuff (or they are?) and they are lacking style and secure bag feeling. TinTin was with them.
To my surprise, Thorsten and Max were missing so we had a little Bag Problem, because these guys have a Doc and a Felix Bag each.
After a little warmup i mainly focused on clippers and butters.
I didn't hit anything remarkable, one Blizzard some Ripwalks and Smears.
I really have to school flip pixie, clippers and infinity. Still i felt that I'm improving on stepping.

Looking forward to get a reply from Ilja to get me a Bag.

Regards
D.

edit: @Jochen: :D I just copied that out of our guestbook, tintin spelled it like that

it is called surging set not searching set :-)

Moreover it would be cool of people would learn the searching set as early as possible -I guess it is one of the most important sets when it comes to online footbag

Rainy Days Oct 19th
The weather forecast was kinda cheated on me, because - based on the forecast - I left home without a rainjacket or even the thought of a possible weather change.
Arriving at the spot were Thorsten and I met, the Rain even increased.
And that's mainly it for the session :/
Apart from ice fingers nothing really happened, neither Thorsten nor myself were able to hit something worth to mention.
I tried everything i can actually hit, still nothing really wanted to work. I hit like one ripwalk or somethin..
Still I was able to play after 4 days of nothing again, which is quiet nice, apart from the feat.
I hope tomorrow's session will be better.

Session 20th Oct
Today I played with Thorsten at his Place, where the Temperature was pretty much acceptable, not in comparison to yesterday *shaking*.
I warmed up with 10 atw's each and stuff like clippers, and as I proceeded to butterfly my motivation somehow decreased. I'm still not able to manage Infinity. My 'record' is still 8, which is already reached by Thorsten.
We played for like 80 minutes or something, in which I tried to hit Blur, but apart from the Stepping, I seem to do the Mirage too fast (as Thorsten says). Still the Motion of Stepping is very different if you try to hop with your support leg than "just" switching it over the bag.

To anyone reading this entry:
1.You got advices for stretching to increase ankle crank (hope i mean the right thing)?
2.Anyone into explaining me quantum and atomic?

You wanted some drills...

atw in>atw out>pixie rpt - solid atws make pixies nicer.

what about tiltless ? what is your mirage>legover record, how many
alternating/consecutive clippers can you hit ?
Drill all these up to 20 at least :D

alternating ducking toes and clippers

butter>paradox mirage till you drop

pixie legover rpt , later on try smear>plo rpt

butter>pdx mirage>magellan/smear

butter>stepping legover>plo

before you work on stepping or pixie moves, do like 10 sets to hand
catch each side first - it makes the set nicer fast, since you dont have
to worry about adding another component .
Kinda self-explanatory, i know, but still not many practice like that...

That any good ?

As for quantum and atomic...hmmm...explain "explaining" :D
Do you wanna know what these are, or are you interested in
how they work in the best way possible

PM !

Training 22nd Oct
Woah, what a day! Been to the Soccer Match Eintracht Frankfurt - 1. FC Cologne before Train. => VERY GOOD IDEA! My Team, Eintracht made the Game, my Team won 6:3!!! \o/
I was really looking forward to the Train, still i somehow managed to forget to copy the Drills outta my blog. To be honest, I philosophized about good color combinations for my first, own, handstitched bag by ilja. I came to the combo dark blue/yellow. Although it will take a lot of time until I'll have it, I'm verhy happy with my decision.
After getting the drills through 2 instances (mom + dad), Train could begin. Fortunately Thorsten (Bagman) showed up and I warmed up with a Felix Bag, some dexxes to activate the Soccergame-spectator Legs.
I gradually engaged on to the drills
butter > pdx mirage
butter > pdx legover
atw in/out > pixie ~ legover/mirage

Had the experience that Butter's work better than last time. As i cut out the layer out of the toe of my rod's, i encountered a totally new feeling with each toe combo, be it a toe stall or a pixie, a totally unknown feeling. Future Sessions will show whether it will pay off :P

Still Training was much more than Shred and Drill yesterday: A Player of ours, Christian Loew, maybe known to Fans of Budas Best, is currently creating a Card Game including all Frankfurt Players (Quartett). As the Game contains abilities like Height, Weight etc. there was a jump-contest. I made 2.35m or 2.25m via Sunback-Technique (a net move). ;)

After Train there was a Party, the 30st Birthday of Alex, a friend of the club. We partied until 3am and furthermore :D

I experienced, that i need to concentrate more on certain things, bundling of concentration is very important.

Thanks to everyone sharing this blog with me  8)

P.S.: *edit* Tried some atomic sets while Train, did them all to handcatch or attempting lo/mirage. I will also focus on this, nice set!
P.P.S.: Woah, since i had that Session with Thorsten, I am listening permanently to Knack - My Sharona - BOOOM! What a Song, really awesome.
P.P.P.S.: Last edit - i swear! I encountered a nice Mixdrink - called Flügel im Wald (something like Wings in Forest) - Wodka Red Bull with Jägermeister! MY RECOMMENDATION! :D

Summary of Sessions on 25th and 27th
Okay, to sum up the Session with Thorsten at his Place (he lives in a Studentenwohnheim where we got the possibility to play in the basement; being independent of the wheather rocks) with one word: OUTCH!
I did not really hit anything, mainly focussed on atomic set and a few butters. But, to return to the outch, i smashed the inside of my knees together, the 2nd time.. and well, I got a nice little tattoo, a stain that changes its colors, nois!
Todays Session was actually pretty cool, although Thorsten and I played only for like an hour and a quarter.
The wheather was quite nice, which made us play at the Humperdinck School in the West of Frankfurt's City.
Thorsten hit the 2nd time 9 Infinities, and he was close to extend the margin.
My Butterfly didn't really want to cooperate today, neither did my pixie, somehow it seems that my legs seem to be huffy or summin :P
Still, my atomic efforts paid off: I hit Tap both sides Wooohooow! Another 3 Add Move, finally i made somethin out of this set, ha!
I'm proud of myself, still I would have appreciated it much much more to add another component with the opposite leg, cause somehow, I did not really get the hang out of this one yet.

Next scheduled Shred: Saturday with Thorsten. TinTin will be in Berlin. And this'll be it for Frankfurts Freestyle Party, what a disappointment

Hi Daniel props for Tap! I really like that move. Try Atomic Legover and then you have a opposite leg component :)

Training, Saturday 29th Oct 2005
Aw, finally shredding again \o/
Earlier that day i had a shocking experience! I was driving the car of my old neigbor who is at the same time my driving teacher (got the license since last year August tho) to the end of a street, and i had right of way. I looked to my right and as there was nothing to wait for I released my brake, but suddenly my Neighbor pushed down the pedals due to an insane bitch in her fucking black mini crap car who was driving at least 60 in a km/h 30 zone. Damn, if I'd have been on my bike I would have been wasted, dead like an ai-q3 bot - without respawn.

To the Train:
Before anything really got to start, I had to recover a David Bag from Milli which was stuck behind the heating thingy in the hall.
I started warming up, mainly focussing on Butter>Pdx Mir/Legover or Pixie Combos.
As Time did ascend, Thorsten joined me after finishing his Net Session with Alex against Milli/Julia (new member?). He focussed on Butters, still trying to fetch the record and Ducking Combos as far as I'm able to remember.
Now, to the Surprise of everyone, here's what i hit:

Tap bsos

Blur bs

and actually Ripwalk bsos - but the 2nd del wasn't very clean.

YEAH BABY YEAH! :D
Still, Thorsten was so focussed with his Shinsplints (getting at him hard right now) that he missed to see me hitting Blur, which means that there is no witness that i hit clip>same in>op out>op del BABY! 8)

Good Night everyone, aw I feel good! Monday English written examination about Fahrenheit 451.
