Your not a bad person, just a person who has been duped by your government. Why love your government when it will just callously use you in return?

I'm thinking about something... and there is a very high chance it has something to do with footbag.

Probably because shooting at people was something I was good at and they paid me well for it?

Better question: Why bring up a dead topic?

America is so cool. I love shooting people. i love calling other countries dipshits and fudge packers

I bet over 95% of the "patriots" (assholes) in america dont know whats going on in Sudan right now.

As for american journalism/news. It is the worst ever. Over 80,000 people (maybe more now) have died in the middle east from the earthquake, yet there is more coverage on "Hurricane Katrina" still, which happened 2 months ago. I have seen maybe.... 2 minutes of news on the earthquake, while WHOLE news shows are covering hurricane katrina. WTF n00b|3

That's the best hotdog I've ever seen ever. I request that you buy one, and cryogenically freeze it. Then, send it to my house in Canada, where I have my de-cryogenizer and I'll eat it hot and fresh!!

Are you saying that every other country in this world gives a rats ass about the Sudan conflict and we don't? That's a crock of shit, if you think that the rest of the world really cares, then why AREN'T they helping? It'd be one thing if the rest of the world was chipping in a hand in Africa, but as far as I see it, it looks like the world needs to practice what it preaches. Yeah, it's bad about the civil war going on there, but when you look at it, the rest of the world doesn't give a shit, either. Americans just get blamed for it because we don't give a shit about anything that doesn't concern us - which is the way it should be, I think now.

About American journalism: you're bringing up moot point. America has always been that way. We're a traditionally isolationist country. Always have been, always will be. It's nothing new. Again, if all of the other countries really cared as much as you think, wouldn't they send more aid? I think you need to realize that we did just get out of a couple of natural disasters and are still occupying two countries and battling a recession. America needs to help itself before it helps others right now because Katrina was an economic disaster and the beaurocrats aren't helping much.

If you don't like getting your news from CNN, then don't watch it and instead read the articles on the internet. You won't have much of a problem then, would you? You should also take a minute to consider that when you're watching TV, you're watching it from our satellites (if you're in America, that is). Do you think Americans are going to spend their hard earned money on foreign channels they won't understand a damned word of and watching events that don't pertane to them? It would be nice to have that, but we're not in a dream world. The same probably goes for people in other countries reading about shit that happens to us; they probably don't care, either.

In essence, life sucks and shit happens. Get over it. If you think you can run America or the world better, send someone who cares a letter because I'm getting tired of reading your posts flaming America and stereotyping the entire country. I bet if I pulled the same crap you do on, say France, for instance, I'd get bitched at. The only reason you don't is probably because you're flaming the US and most people are pissed with the US. I'd call it a bit bias, wouldn't you?

Don't mean to berate you, but your last post came off as pretty insipid to me.

War has been going on for all of human history. For some reason, there is a percentage of people born that will take advantage, and hurt others for their own good. Sometimes they'll do it for personal gain, sometimes just for fun. Sometimes these people that hurt people, or massacre MILLIONS of people, own entire countries. People have no idea how fucked up the world is, and how much fucked up shit goes on, because it's not reported in the media.

The reason I'm saying this, is it's impossible for the US to maintain a strictly diplomatic stance when it comes to war. It's all about being the biggest bad ass. If you don't, then those fucked up people that own countries will think you're a punk, and then they'll attack you. Like it or not, that's the truth. IT'S ALWAYS BEEN THAT WAY.

I know what you're thinking-double thread. But a lot goes into my feelings toward the US, and that's why I posted that stuff above. As far as America being the bestest country in the world, I don't know. I've only been to Canada, and Mexico, besides being born in Germany but I was only there a year. I hate the brain-washing that goes on in America, but then sometimes I think it's to keep everyone happy and productive while all the fucked up shit goes on.

America is the bestest country cuz...man what a silly topic. We as humans have not achieved enlightenment. As long as there are people that will hurt others for fun, or personal gain, no country will be the bestest. Oh well, I'm gonna go back and work on my left side now. Later.

No - he said
I bet over 95% of the "patriots" (assholes) in america dont know whats going on in Sudan right now.
which is a completely different sentiment to what you suggested.

"American's don't know what is happening in Sudan" has nothing to do with "the rest of the world aren't doing anything in Sudan". Actually though when you look at the details - the US did very little other than their claim of genocide against Muslims in Sudan (even though the US was unprepared to follow up on international law regarding the issue). The African Union is definitely the most involved and helpful organisation working in Sudan in my opinion - I think the credit for the latest peace attempt in Sudan can be given only to the people of Sudan and the A.U - I don't think any credit could be given to the US at all and I don't understand why you would think otherwise.

Why is it always the US that has to fix things? Isn't there something called the UN that is a bunch of governments that "help" people? I know what point you'll get to, which is the fact that Saddam massacred people and we intervened there because of oil and all of that other BS that gets repeated, but, like I said, if any other nation wants to intervene in Sudan, they're more than welcome.

Would you like to do the percentages of people in other countries that know about the conflict? Like I said, there's as many people that care here as there are in other countries.

I didn't suggest that we are doing anything over there. I'm saying we aren't and we don't need to and am asking why everyone always has to bitch at us. This is along the lines with Henry bitching about Katrina and the quake in Asia.

Slavery! Fuck Yeah!

Did you write those lyrics Sam? You definitely should have, seeing as you are the best person ever, also making you the best patriot ever.

Nobody in the bump of this topic have said that they think the US should fix the Sudan thing - nobody has even made any suggestion that they should apart from yourself. In fact what I said is that the Sudan conflict has been helped almost entirely by countries other than the US (ie. the A.U.) and that has had a positive effect. I'm not saying I think the US should get involved in the conflict. In fact going on the US track record of getting involved in overseas conflicts, I'm glad they didn't.

Regarding the issue of Saddam Hussein - I think what I would bring up is that although the lives of the people in Iraq are definitely important, it's interesting that the US chose to go to Iraq instead of the Congo - which is the third most bloody conflict in the modern world (behind the world wars). One would have to assume that if the goal of the US was simply to save lives that would be a priority over Iraq and that perhaps there was another motive beyond saving lives.
Would you like to do the percentages of people in other countries that know about the conflict? Like I said, there's as many people that care here as there are in other countries.
I have no idea how Australia compares with the US in terms of knowledge about Sudan. I do know that there has been a large amount of news coverage and documentaries about Sudan shown on tv and that Australia has one of the largest (maybe the largest) populations of Sudanese people outside of Africa so it's easy to believe that in many parts of Australia (especially the capital cities) the majority of people know somebody from Sudan (I personally know 4 off the top of my head).

"who is she talking about" I always wonder to aloud the random hottie sitting next to me?

Good for you!!!
I don't really want to get into that "fat US kid" debate, because it's getting worse over here in EU. By the stuff I heard from my friends from US, there are two major groups of peopleover there, the fitness freaks, who starve if they are a few grams over, and the gimme the whole fryup menu- cardiac arrests waiting to happen. And some people in the middle, who try to eat normal food.

I much rather have the left chick with hairy armpits, than the right one, where i can't find where they are

Well, actually it's not just a stereotype - it's a fact. (We Finns are one of the fattest (even second fattest after US?) people in the world, I don't have that problem though, luckily, thank God).
Though so many US citizens are below the "poorness level" that I believe that you won't keep the first place very long, if it goes this way.
----

There really is an organization called the United Nations but too bad it can do almost nothing by itself, IF even one of the biggest member countries uses veto. (NOTE: I don't remember any facts about any specific country vetoing about one specific thing, but I think we all know they're doing that. And not just the USA). Still, the biggest countries can make their own decisions about things as they want them to be.
I think it's a good thing that Saddam doesn't have the power in Iraq anymore but it's not an excuse to make a war operation without planning it well enough. Obviously the situation there at the moment isn't very much better than it was before the war, and it seems that the Coalition is a bit lost there not exactly knowing what to do.
If someone tells me that the war started just to save lives there, I'd disagree. Oil was definitely one of the main targets, as well as getting a foot to the Middle East.

I really think that as a global super power as the USA is, they should the power, but they should use it right. The US can't afford this situation, it should make more friends as soon as possible and try to keep the old friends aswell (France, Germany).

I also think that the European Union should use the global power more for good and not just be hypocrits about how the Yanks do it all wrong. We aren't always right, the US isn't always right and we both actually don't know the culture of each other well enough. (Let's make a change here - footbag is IMO a good way to get even some of us nearer each other and to understand each other better).

----

Just read last week from the newspaper that Bush (and China and Russia too) are planning to send men again to Moon and then to Mars. What's the point with that? The robots can make the same things there as men and even better. I admit, it's probably cool to walk on the Moon but still - isn't that a damn big waste of money for a couple of men's dream? With that money we could do some development on Earth and make this a bit better place than it's now.
