Wheres the biggest footbag scene in Canada?

Post by funklovesfootbag »

OK, so, this summer I'm thinking I want to either go back to Europe and kick with everyone I met there last summer, OR, I want to take a trip to Canada and kick there. Canada is looking like the better option because it will be a lot cheaper for me and I'm completely broke atm.

Where's the biggest scene in Canada?

I'd like to go to Vancouver because I've heard it's a lot of fun and it's the shortest trip from California, but I don't know if there's much footbag there.

I guess having a place to crash is going to be a big deciding factor as well, anyone interested in housing 2 or 3 footbaggers for a week or so?[/img]

Eli and Caro just moved to Vancouver and I'll be making more regular trips over there as a result. Hopefully we'll be building a bigger community there as time goes by.

With a relatively big scene in Seattle, I'm hoping we can organize a regular shred between the two cities and with Portland so close I see a pretty huge "NorthWest" (even though it's SouthWest in Canada) scene developing over the next year.

yea portland and us seattle people have been talking about this recently too we've been trying to get together like once every month or two and we'd definately be down to get victoria/vancouver on the list as well. idaho and montana would be cool but they're a bit farther away and are less frequent because of it

I'm only in Vancouver about 10 weeks of the year, but I am very interested in any sort of Vancouver shred scene, especially anything going on this December/January. Just for the record, I think Vancouver has a great net community. I learned to play net there this past August, and the Vancouver Open was a blast.

Canada seems to have like.. eighty billion small shred scenes.

I want to move to montreal and be in that scene.

Also.. Montreal fucking slays in general.

Northwest represent!! Allan - where did Ellis and Caro move to in BC? Let's all make these next Northwest festivals huge. I hope there's more attendance from Northwest shredders at next year's Olympia tournament.

Also, if I were to guess I would say that Montreal has the largest Canadian scene.

Montreal certainly does not have the largest freestyle scene.. lots of new players and potential, but regular sessions draw 3-4 people only right now.

Edmonton AKA (ShrEdmonton) is fairly active. We play at least once a week at the west end ymca with about 4-5 of us regulars + whatever kids come in to kick.

I am intrigued about all this talk of northwestern tournaments.
