Anz learning to edit!

Post by Anz »

w00t, I finally got chances to edit something. So last week Felix filmed me for about 10 minutes and today I collected the best footage (which really is mostly crap this time) and edited something about it! There is some bigger tricks and links but just a few runs.
And the comp I'm using is a bit too slow so I had to encode this vid to lower quality that I would have wanted

http://www.footbag.org/gallery/show/6063

Filmed on 10th October (I know the vid says 3rd...) by Felix Zenger
Edit by Anssi Sundberg 8)
Duration: 2:17
Song: Iron Maiden - Fear of The Dark

I'm sooo exited about editing. Next time I'll get some real footage and make a longer vid!
Consider this as a trailer!

lol sorry - this is an awesome video. Really really good. Your skills are so amazing - some really impressive stuff in this. Stokage!! Great editing too - it's really nice to see edited videos like this - they are so much more enjoyable than tripod no editing solo vids!! I'm excited about the sequal already. Maybe the famous Finland cat could make an appearance too ;)

Nice tricks. The spinning pdx barrages impressed me the most. Thats so hard. The alpine mariuses were also incredible. I thought the third consecutive pdx torque was thin though, possibly the. I very much enjoyed the variety of angles it was shot at, as well as the variety of backgrounds. Very refreshing. Some of the shots were actually a bit over-edited I thought, with the effects distracting rather than highlighting the shred. Like, at times I wasn't sure if I was watching a new combo in the same location, or if it was the same string.

Have to say I'm very stoked to see you putting out vids, cause I'm a fan of your style. I also look forward to seeing your progression as an editor.
Good stuff, thanks again.

Oh man! :D
Nice to wake up in the morning to see so many replies! Makes me jocund :)

I wouldn't have expected so much props from footage that is collected 10 minutes of filming - oh boy you guys gotta wait that I get to film more ;)
What I'd actually wanted the most was comments from the editing! And that's what I got too, thanks again! Special thanks for Ken on critique. I know the editing is a bit messy in some parts with all these flashs and stuff. I was just testing it out :) Going them clearer next time.

Make my day: Watch this video > Comment this thread! :P

joo, alpine marius bs on aika pirun kovaa settiä. Kiva nähdä sultakin videota. Katotaan kumpi saa seuraavaksi pätkän sisään, voi mullakin mennä hetki :D jos ennen tota joulukalenterihömppää jaksais yhden tehdä. SM-eistähä sit pitäis kans kooste tehä. See ya there. Jaksa samaan malliin :)

Wow... Nice Anssi, nice.

Keep progress on both - footbag and editing...

About editing. First some critique. The flashes... the ones like the 0:42 one. And the flashes when the image switches between b&w and color. It would look better, IMO, if the transition was smooth.
And. I loved the crossing between spinning pdx barrages! BTW. They were nuts. And all the different angles - did you tell Felix how to tape stuff, or are this pictures his conception?

Same as Vortex > Mobius, Diving Drifter b2b and Alpine Marius bs, and others.

Can't wait for full length video...

I'm thinking about something... and there is a very high chance it has something to do with footbag.

Thanks for the comments everybody!

:D I can't believe how that "3th" has got so much attention. I was going to write 10th but somehow mysteriously I fucked up the number...

It was edited with Windows Movie Maker so I don't think that I can get those transitions any smoother than that, if I understood right.
The filming (shooting angles and stuff) was decided by both Felix and myself.

I have an analog video camera myself and I'm going the buy some gadget that I can capture footage to my comp with.
That would mean some serious solo session videos. Watchout Jorden!

Sweet! I'm not much into the 80's rock stuff but I really digged the song!

Oh yeah, you are one slick mother :P

WMM is a really lacking program for editing, but I think you could make it pump out some good videos Anssi. Like everyone who posted, I enjoed the black and white, and the transitions to and fro. It kinda gives me some ideas :)

Cheers!
