That was awesome, Tom!! Did you make the video? I was totally captivated the entire time!! The only thing that distracted me was the quality of the video :( It was, like, a perfect balance of good shred and silliness!! I was going to ask in the other KICKASS video what kind of shoes Johnny is playing in. Are those baby blue Climas??
Oh yeah -- your spinning looks awesome! I also liked Matt's spastic spinning ;p Seath's shuffle is looking so good (so is yours!!). It was nice to see Nick and Will (was the last video his first video appearance? When I first saw him I thought he looked a lot like Bijan from Cloud 9). The end footage was soooo rad too -- I love seeing non-shred footage too!! Hey -- that one guy with the silly hat and glasses -- is he from Saskatoon? There were lots of other people I couldn't put names to too. Was that Vida with the sword guy? Oh Chris' ripped warrior beesauce at your place was bogus! I want to go to a tournament :( hey -- I also REALLY love Paul's hair!!!!!!!! Speaking of Paul, was the Toronto crew there?

I was really surprised to see this video out this soon so I was downloading a breakdancing competition video when I saw "kickass shreddage!" and I was like woah. So I stopped downloading the breakdancing so this could get downloaded faster. AWESOME video. It really captures the essence of KICKASS. Thanks for slapping this onto modified, Tom. Quality of video? not so good. Quality of shred and quality of the gathering? Perfect.

I loved the intro Tom and the music was awesome, but it was hard to listen to since you left the background noise in, would have been a bit cooler I think if you left the background noise out.

Matt Cross is off the HOOK! Wow, he is awesome :O, that butt stall was classic, dunno how he sticks it out that far.

Was that Jon with the orange hair? Man he's pretty skilled :O I had no idea, love his torques!

Is that Johnny Suderman with the blue shoes? What are those shoes? Never seen them before :O, he has a wicked style, crazy nukes :O.

Props for showing footage of new players aswell Tom! They will be stoaked as to see themselves in ur video :).

Great work man.

Edit:
Quality of video? not so good.
Yeah the camera man was shakin the camera quite a bit, but the footage was pretty good quality apart from that I thought, just a bit roughly filmed.

I'm the guy with the silly hat and the glasses

I am not from Saskatoon.

And as far as the shaky camera is concerned, I dunno if that's Peng's footage, or if it's some of the stuff I did (not sure if I used that camera). Buuuut yeah. I've got some shots on my fisheye camera that'll be on the way...as soon as I get money to process it. 2 weeks from now.

Also, I take it that this doesn't include Johnny Suderman's footage...which means that there's actually another video of Kickass that should come out eventually. :P

lol that was peng with the sword guy not vida -

DAMN SON!

Man what a great video. I loved how the original music clashed with the soundtrack to make a whole new genre of music. CLASHCORE - or i dunno thats a stupid name - but I was really tripped out. I think the video captured the vibe because I wasnt there but I feel sorta like I was. WHAT WAS WITH THE CLOSE UPS OF PEOPLES FACES LIKE THEY WERE ABOUT TO SAY SOMETHING HUH TOM?!?! HAHA u better pm me soon with those files suckka

props all

why no vida footage?

I really liked the video but it seemed really hectic because of the quality of file. If it were higher it would have maintained the players styles much more effectively -- I know all of those players don't look that choppy when they play! ;) Oh well, though. Awesome video, Tom! You did a great job with the tournament, it looks like!

Thanks for all the replies people!

I kiiiinda agree that the background music cooooould have been killed, I toned it down on alot of the shots where it was really loud and distracting, but I felt like leaving it in to some degree let you know more about what was going on.

In response to questions:

Erik:
- yes i made the video
- sorry about the quality
- yes, blue climas, used to be Jorden's, now they are Johnny's
- The sword girl was Peng, kingstons newest shredita
- nobody came from Toronto, except if you count Ryan Seath, but he is still from Ottawa in my heart

Nic:
- orange hair was Chris Dean, he is hein hein
- Johnny had on blue clima 1's, Johnny is the best
- get over the fact that the camera was shakey now and then, if you focus on that then you are missing the point of the video!

Sam:
- expect a big file from me soon
- no Vida footage because she didn't come to KICKASS

Sam:
- thanks, it was a really fun tourny
- i think the hectic feel captured how it all felt for me

This event was very very fun for me.

I appologize to basically everyone in the video for posting shitty strings, I wanted to get as many people in the video as I could even if the strings weren't representative of everyones shred level.

Matt totally threw down in this vid though, eh?

That was a really fun video, and i think the music was perfect.

I agree with Tom. But, instead of just this video, Matt rocked the whole event. Every string of his that I saw at KICKASS was bomb. Him and Johnny were definitely the best there.

thanks for the compliments erik, nic and tom... hein hein :D that kinda rhymes, and it's a pretty good name but i think i'm officially 'pristine chris dean' now  yikes.

thanks for the props, guys :) and thanks for only putting one butt stall in there, I probably did a bunch more. I guess now you can blackmail me with those stupid poses for the rest of my life ;) KICKASS was awesome, I loved meeting some new players and seeing my friends again. Chris Dean is being modest, he far outshredded me at this tournament. The hot tub and pool and super cold water fountain right on site and ALIEN vs PREDATOR video game were awesome! The hot tub made it possible for me to compete, even though my whole body wanted to cramp up into a little twisted ball of muscle the size of an onion.

Special thanks to Tom for singlehandedly putting this together, and to Peng for whipping my arm back into shape... I think it's getting better... I hope I hope...

Agreed on the water fountain. That thing was bomb. Although word on the street was that after a while that water smelled funky.

I didn't hear any music...sounds... :?: The video was cool, though. It just drove me crazy watching silence.

EDIT: AH HAHA! What an idiot I am...I just played it again to see if I could figure something out, and I looked at the volume and it was up and then the mute button... I guess the button stays pressed from the last use. Anyways, cool music too.
