Tony Danza, a cultural symbol?
From the moment Sam made his racist post this topic became about racism. You even quoted this "attacking people of different nationalities" which I think most people would see as a definition of racism. Just because you choose not to talk about racism, it doesn't stop the fact that people are talking about racism. Nate's comment about bashing America was in responce to Emily saying that racism is not tolerated on the forum but she worded it in a way that made it clear to people who don't understand what racism is.
So the discussion followed as:
Emily says racism is banned.
Nate jokingly says it's ok if directed at Americans
You say that you agree and want to direct comments at Australia.
I then suggest that there is a significant difference between what Emily was talking about and what you and Nate were referring to.
Of course you can make a topic attacking any country but if you start being racist in that topic steps will be taken by the mods - just as they were in this topic.

Blah, blah, blah, blah. Instead of wasting more space on this topic and preventing it to get back on topic, why don't you let it get back on topic by not dissecting every little thing and possibly private messaging him or bitching about it over AIM or e-mail? Practice what you preach, please, Jeremy?

Does anyone else find the irony in that amusing?Blackend wrote:Blah, blah, blah, blah. Instead of wasting more space on this topic and preventing it to get back on topic, why don't you let it get back on topic by not dissecting every little thing... Practice what you preach, please, Jeremy?

Yes, I actually did laugh out loud when I read that post. Actually most of Sam's posts in this topic have made me laugh.Moxie wrote:Does anyone else find the irony in that amusing?Blackend wrote:Blah, blah, blah, blah. Who in the hell is Tony Danza?
I read about the Arabized Simpsons in the newspaper and thought it was a cool idea, I hope they pull it off. Could annoy some fans though hey.
edit: Oh and how the irony continues below... and it IS Moxie's topic, and she wasn't discussing anything at all, merely pointing out a rather humourous post. Doesn't sound like a waste of space to me
edit 2: Hey, don't blame me for not being American!! I don't know all this shiz... I don't even watch Australian T.V.

Hey, I did shut my mouth so this topic can go back to where it started. You're wasting more space on your topic, now.Moxie wrote:Does anyone else find the irony in that amusing?Blackend wrote:Blah, blah, blah, blah. Arabic Simpsons = probably not going to last long. Probably about as long as Tony Danza's career after Who's The Boss?.
Wait, did Tony do any other roles of importance or anything after that show until his insipid talk show?
Edit: Alright, James, when you didn't know the difference between Jimmy Dean and the packaged sausage company, you made me laugh.
Now you don't know who Tony Danza is! The world is going to end!

Thanks James.
Gareth: That was my vote too.
I just looked at my first post, and found out that this is a light and fun thread. It turns out that very few people on this page were actually posting off topic. Neat! See for yourself:

That doesn't sound like shutting your mouth, posting on topic, not bitching, OR practicing what you preach. 1. If it's my topic, I can waste all the space I want to since it's not even on topic. 2. It stopped being “my” topic as soon as the first racist slur was posted. I take no ownership of that.Blackend wrote:Blah, blah, blah, blah. I just wanted to let people know that the mod/admin team decided to temporarily suspend Sam for his offensive post in this topic - he had been warned via pm a number of times about offensive posts and gave us no indication that he understood why his posts were inappropriate. He'll have access to the forum again on the weekend. Sorry for the hijack.
Tony Danza seems cool. I have no idea who he is though.

Man Tony 'the boxer' was good in Taxi as well. Taxi was a cool show. Danny Devito was totally the oppressive boss of his taxi company. Christopher Lloyd and Andy Koffman rocked too. See, the great thing about Tony Danza is all the roles he's played in had the name Tony as well. So he never had to worry about forgetting to respond when another actor called him by his character name
Seriously 'Tony', this is getting embarassing. The only reason I even know he has a show is cuz I saw it on 'The Soup' on E!, which I just happened to be watching cuz they re-arranged ALL of my Comcast channels and I got tired of trying to find the other channels.
