Circle or Solo?

General footbag-related topics that don't fit elsewhere go in here.

Do you prefer shredding with others or by yourself?

I picked solo. I don't know if I like solo more or less than circle, but I prefer solo more, because I can work on everything I want anytime without having to worry about etiquette and turns and all that. But I don't prefer solo all the time. I like to play in circles to meet and hang out with ppl and get advice and all that...then I like to go home and practice solo again and see myself improve from being with other ppl. Being with other ppl peps me up for the next months of solo practice. Something like that...

I also noticed that after a bunch of hours of circle kicking, I get bored, because I am usually the newbie/ not one of the greatest people in the circle and get discouraged, cuz I drop the bag and loose my turn more quickly than everyone else. It kind of lets me down.

I agree with the solo everyday and circle 1-3 times a week sentiment.

I also think that I also like solo because it's how I started and what I'm used to.

I also worry too much about etiquette (sp?) in circles and get bored because my strings are shorter and less varied.

Wow we're all feeling the same stuff!

I've had about six (6!) sessions with other people in my life. Otherwise I always shred alone, though if I could choose it wouldn't be so.

It really hurts my feelings when someone who can shred with others whenever they want says they like solo more. ( :P )

I'd rather kick with people I hang out with than solo.

I'd rather kick solo than play with people I don't enjoy kicking with.

I can really only solo because me Zoikoson and his Vizibility0 shred with our own bags and when I try to shred with the kids at school and I hear "SKY HACKY" and toe scratching I'm like "Fuck this."

I like a circle for when I'm learning new things. When it's with people who are better than me, or want to be better than me.

I prefer solo when I need to skool certain moves

But over all, I prefer the laid back, encouraging atmosphere of a freestyle circle

for me as a beginner it is much better to shred with others (better players)!
i learn a lot more when i see others doing their moves.
they can also give me some little advices to improve my tricks or ideas for the next trick to learn.

the atmosphere is also different! and i like this atmoshere :)

I play solo, I used to play with others but they all pretty much despise me now. I prefer solo though 'cuz I don't like waiting..it's boring each turn after turn. I don't enjoy circle any more, I just have to do a trick! I HAVE TO!

Hard to say...depends on the feeling. Circle is a whole different experience...but then again, playing alone improves my game.

I always thought of circle shred as showing your skills and just having a good time (also showing off  ) with your frineds. And solo shred as of working on your game.

My preference would be to shred in a circle of 2 or 3, but having everyone have their own bag, so you can hog it as much as possible and still have people to kick with.
