So tomorrow Ken and I perform live for 6 and half minutes in front of 20,000 soccer fans... Of course this has no significance on the promotion of the sport since all I do for the sport is talk shit on the forum but it's exciting for me anyway.

It could well be on tv - I'm guessing the game will be on sbs so people should check that out tonight - not sure when the game will be on though (I'm sure it's easy to check) - it will also be on the big screen at the ground apparantly. But right now with about three hours until our "dress rehersal" it's cloudy and raining outside although it seems to have stopped a little. If it's just overcast for tonight that would be great - demo doesn't start for another 5 hours and the halftime show isn't for another 7 so I think we'll be ok

Jesse: I'll make you a bag when I have time - I'm sure you understand I've been working 3 days a week, and then spending the other 4 days flying to and from these events and organising them so I've been pretty exausted pretty much all the time and have been making bags very slowly. I also need time to talk shit on modified since that's all I do for the sport. I have a lot of people who want bags too.

The last couple of days:

Friday 28th - was up until 2 am working out some details for a demos - mainly payments and also cleaning and shit. Woke up at 5 am to fly up to Sydney. I was pretty damn tired. Slept on the plane. Met Dyalan at airport, picked up Ken and headed off to beach. Had a good swim and threw a flying disc around lots. Then got some fish and chips and played cricket while drinking James Boags Premium beer. Ken showed improvement over the duration of the game. Had a quick meeting with Kate from TMS at the Crystal Meth House. Headed off to demo for the day - which was some Christian festival or something. There were red bulls girls there and I drunk my 3rd and 4th for the day. It was fun and I played well despite being incredibly exausted. The highlight was when they held a break dancing competition in the evening and I went down and hit a very nice 15 contacts (approx) run with a few fives and finishing with double atw to hand catch (so dropless) - the crowd really loved that

Dyalan then tried some silly things that were funny and resulted in him falling over a lot...

By this time I was so tired I can't really remember what else happened.

Saturday: Picked up a german shredita named Inga and drove to the outskirts of Sydney for demo. Day was very hot and I mainly worked on my footbag. Didn't play very well and had a very sore knee. Did hit a nice triple dex on video that I doubt has been on video before (I don't even know of anybody else who has hit the move - I hit it a long time ago but nice to get it on video.) Ken was hitting some nice stuff and a few really cool combos too!

Came home pretty tired. Made Ken a fairly aussie meal of mashed potatoes, salad and kangaroo sausages. I think this is the first time Ken saw kangaroo in Australia

So it's been fun but I'd really like a couple of day of no work or footbag soon. I guess that's probably what's going to happen on the weekend of the 11th to 13th of November when I fly up to Melbourne for the very last demo. I think Saturday will be a drinking and relaxing with non footbag friends day

So we had a fairly fun day today - shred with Cameron, Tom, Alex, Jorden, Myself and Ken. Not bad being able to organise a shred with 6 people with 3 hours notice - says a lot about the scene in Hobart especially during exam time. Also drunk some nice beer (coopers strong ale). Later we watched the fire twirlers and then I did a little and we got more beer and played 4 square with Sam, Ian, Jorden, Jim, Ken and myself. Says a lot about the Hobart scene that you can organise drunken four square at 11 pm with no thought leading up to it (we bumped into those guys). Ok so I'm just pwning the Melbourne scene because they have probably the second smallest scene in Australia of the serious scenes (it would go Hobart, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane) but they don't seem to have realised that Hobart and maybe Sydney (Sydney have Phil, Guido, Dyalan, and Ian when he gets back, but also Jas and Daniel who live with in visiting distance - and one or two almost players). Tasmania has Jorden, Brian, James, Alex, Axis, Cameron, Steve, Shaun, Ivan, Dom, Tony, Steve 2, Glenn, Ian, Raff, Tom, and I'm sure there are other guys who I've just forgotten. Plus there are people like my brother who can hit ten tiltless and has lavers but only plays once every 6 months so I don't count him. Today's shred went well. We had music finally and everybody were playing well. Cameron hit double atw. Alex was busting some nice stepping stuff and ducking butterfly. I've never played with Tom before but he was hitting toe stalls consecutively. Jorden hit toe set spinning toe and also gyro flying clipper from a toe set. I hit high plains drifter both sides (but dropped the other side on both runs). Also tonight at 1 am I hit whirling far whirl (whirlwalk) which ken said was clean (I'm sure it's easy to the the last whirl) and also footed some other cool moves. All in all it was a fun day for all.

Yeah had a session today. Ken kicked my best bag onto a roof of a building and although he got it back, he gets no props from me for anything he hit today or on this entire trip. We had fun going out tonight.

He loses props for forgetting to log out of modified too.

the correct term is "Schooner" which is roughly 425ml, or if u r softcore, then you drink a "Middy" which is something like 250ml or whatever.

There are other terms like "Pots" and shit but they are for bogans from the north hehehe

Hope you find this info useful for WHEN you come to Australia

So Ken and I busked today and earnt about $40 each which was nice. We had a sign up saying something like "trying to raise money to go to worlds in Germany" which may well end up not being true since the only reason I was planning on attending was to go to the IFC meeting and over the last few months I've lost almost all my motivation to be involved with the IFPA at all. The fact that I get publically attacked on the forum from somebody who first emailed me asking me to not bag out the IFPA months ago and whose advice I followed - therefor they're publically attacking me for something that happened months ago and I thought we dealt with in an entirely satisfactorary manner for both parties is very frustrating and motivation draining. I actually haven't been involved with any IFPA related business since late August apart from trying to get some things done for the benifit of the Australian Footbag Association.

I feel that footbag would really benifit from a strong international organisation but I also feel that my efforts to build a scene in Australia and in Hobart are a much more useful use of my time and ultimately in my attempts to deal with the IFPA I realise I actually haven't achieved a single positive outcome so it seems like it's just bringing me needless grief and is a very inefficient usage of my time when I could be being much more constructive for footbag if I have a much more local view. I don't know, it's a complicated and frustrating issue.

edit: one of the major problems with the IFPA is the lack of people - especially freestylers - willing to be involved. If you want to be involved you should contact somebody within the main organisation. Actually I have no idea who you should contact and having a quick look I could see nothing but I guess at this stage I'd say send an email to [email protected] although that's almost certainly the wrong address (I'm sure somebody there could find something for you to do though.

Yeah so had another cool weekend promoting footbag and getting paid for it

. Some nice stuff went down. Today I hit a few nice moves and combos as did Ken and Gareth. Generally things are going well and I'm looking forward to next weekend and even more so to the weekend after that which will be my first free weekend in an enourmas amount of time. My parents will be away for Christmas too which means I won't have to celebrate it at all hopefully

so I'm already planning on takeing some time off footbag and picking up a cute girl for the summer. I'm really glad I'm judging aus champs and not competing too although I think I'll start some hard schooling when I get back into footbag. Having got to play with a lot of the players in Australia recently I feel motiviated to start working hard again.

Oh yeah I rocked hard at monopoly. I rolled very badly and didn't land on anything worthwhile. However I managed to do deals with Caroline and Gareth that gave both of us sets (they got better sets than I did) but I got cash too and immediatly built up property on the Old Kent set and the Strand set so that from that moment on everybody was too broke to buy houses. Ken didn't really understand the point of the game I think (he tipped on rent...) although considering the two countries he's lived in recently he should have destroyed us

Anyway fun was had by all and I got to try a new beer - Redback malt wheat beer - from Matilda Bay in WA which I thought was very good and I'll try it again some time. It's nice to see that Ken's definitely experienced some good beers in Australia and that his top 2 are both Tasmanian
