Thanks, unforunately I won't be coming to Seattle because I've got no money for transportation and school will be hectic around that time.

I'm thinking I'm going to try and get money together for a trip to somewhere in summer though, like Canada or back to Europe.. Probably Canada since it will be cheaper and I haven't been there yet.

10.26.05 solo session in laundry room

Post by funklovesfootbag »

ITS RAINING IN SANTA CRUZ. What are we footbaggers to do? I resorted to the community laundry room. awesome.

so i drilled stuff for about a half hour, hit a few unique 2 add combos I hadn't hit before, legover > atw > pickup > atw > pixie > pixie > illusion and something else similar. I'm starting to throw in all the 2 add moves I know instead of just mirage legover pickup and atw. fun!

symp mirage > toe > flip symp mirage > toe > symp mirage > drop

tried some DLO's and pixie-legovers, I need to be faster.

hit some clipper > legovers, and clipper > mirages, and one butterfly mirage.

drilled clippers and butterflys.. still WEAK.

tried doing consecutive illusions but they're still too ugly for that. I can hit maybe 25% of them on my flip side and 50% on my strong side now.

rain rain go away.

session downtown with emily and aj.

i dont remember all of what i hit; it sort it left my mind after. but i know i hit

Butterfly-mirage-clipper-mirage-something.. something dont remember.. help emily? then i hit symp pixie bsos in the same run, and like 2 or 3 other 2 add tricks in between. wish i could remember better .. or if it was on camera, that would have been good. ha.

and i hit legover>atw>pickup>atw>mirage>pixie>ducking toe drop

hit pixie-legover on my left foot. DLO hurt my legs too much to try.

my legs were hurting a lot from jiu jitsu.. i think i slightly pulled something in my calf, and my shin is sore as hell from shin splints and then being grinded on in jiu jitsu. ow. so i was in pain the whole session, and i had to stop trying big stuff... practiced ducking toe and clippers and had a lot of fun. I keep getting better. :D mmmm.. pain-killer and sleep.

I don't know exactly, but it was awesome and I think it was like this: Butterfly>mirage>clipper>mirage>something>something>symp pixie>legover?>toe>symp pixie. I know you had at least one legover in there somewhere... and maybe I'm making up the toe stall. You're progressing so well! It's really fun to see.

the day my neck killed me 10.29.05

Post by funklovesfootbag »

today, my neck killed me. I went up to Aptos to play with Jeremy and Amelia at the beach/cliff... and, i drilled some stuff for a while,

hit PLO flipside and strong but didnt try any DLOs because my calf is still hurt...

i dont really remember .. nothing else special but then, as i was trying to hit a symp mirage in the middle of my jump my neck tweaked. I am injured.

.....no footbag for me. no jiu jitsu for me. no comfort for a few days at least.

I tried to play a little bit after my neck wigged out but it was just some basic 2 adds and i hit PLO but I probably shouldnt have been playing. I figure I'll be able to play by tuesday....so I got that going for me.

Sifted through some clips of myself for the upcoming SCFC video... It's tough watching clips taken of yourself a while ago because I feel like I've already progressed a lot since then.. but it's going to be sweet anyways.

11.1.05 sesssssh

Post by funklovesfootbag »

session at frederick st park with jeremy emily aj and jacob at one point. i actually just wrote this and my friend's MAC froze. macs suck. So im making this to the point

getting better at insides hit up to 10 earlier.

hit same side butterfly>mirage>ss butterfly>mirage a few times but its ugly i set it too far in front of me so i have to hop too far.

hit a 2-add string of 14 but with a toe contact

drilled mirage>illusion>legover>atw repeat and threw in 2 add moves after i hit it once or twice.

hit PLO twice but no DLO. need to be faster and more controlled and suck less

i hit ducking mirage on the 2nd try. tried it flipside but kept hitting it with my thigh. weak. need to practice this.

i schooled stuff with emily afterwards and...

i hit symp pixie>symp pixie for the first time and it was really clean!

i hit ducking pickup for the first time and then hit it flipside and i also hit it BSOS the first time i tried it. practiced a lot of ducking toes and easy stuff with ducking thrown in. So fun! also tried ducking clipper and toe set to ducking clipper.

and pickup landing on inside > ducking mirage but missed. fun!

ducking legovers seem much harder.

also i hit symp mirage> toe > symp mirage>toe>symp mirage>toe>symp mirage drop and i hadn't done that before. so that's good.

it was a good session im happy with what i hit and i have goals for next sesh.

goals

hit ss butterfly>mirage>ss butterfly>mirage and then link to ducking

throw in ducking pickups and mirages to my 2 add combos especially flipside and also ducking clippers... try ducking butterflys.

try and hit symp mirage>legover>symp mirage>legover or pickups instead.

get better.

11.2.05 session at tennis courts

Post by funklovesfootbag »

session with emily at tennis courts. it was short cus of daylight savings time they havent moved the lights forward.. or dont plan to, which would suck.

almost hit symp mirage>legover>symp mirage>legover
drilled butterflys a little bit
hit PLO twice strongside and once flipside (hit my first try flip i think.)
hmm thats pretty much i think.. a few good clippers.

too short...need more footbag.

11.2.05 best solo sesh ever

Post by funklovesfootbag »

ended up playing some footbag tonight alone. best solo session ever.. 2 hours. usually i get tired after 30 minutes alone but i took small breaks as if i had a circle and it seems to help.

anyways, drilled lots of clippers and butterflys.
hit PLO twice on strong side none on flip

earlier before math class i put on my lavers and played for about 15 minutes, and hit clipper>opp clipper which I hadnt done before, so it inspired some schooling.

so, i can now hit clipper>opp clipper, and i hit clipper>opp clipper>opp clipper a few times too.

hit butterfly>infinity for the first time, hit it maybe 6 or 7 times after that.
and butterfly>infinity>infinity. ALL ABOUT going slow and keeping rhythm.

also hit flip ss butterfly>ss pickup superclean,

and flip butterfly>legover

clipper>legover>clipper>legover (w/proper timing) oooh, that feels good.

starting to understand the drifter motion.

some other stuff... but 95% was drilling clippers and butterflys. Feel like I made a lot of progress.

11.3.05 solo sesh

Post by funklovesfootbag »

well i had free time before class.... so instead of studying for my upcoming midterm, i went and played footbag.

Hit paradox mirage for the first time, and then hit it 3 more times on my strong side. I tried it flip after hitting it the 2nd time on my strong side but I couldn't get it.

I figured out why very quickly. My flip clipper is ugly as sin. so I drilled it for about 30-40 minutes and hit one paradox mirage flipside.

i schooled some other stuff and played around with ducking inside and hit 2 PLO's strong and 1 flipside.

11.3.05 session downtown with AJ

Post by funklovesfootbag »

session downtown with AJ. it was real good.

new tricks: Paradox pickup (Is that right? Clipper and then the same foot you catch the clipper comes all the way around and does a pickup.. ?) both sides but not BSOS

if thats right, paradox illusion BSOS first try.

lots more clipper and butterfly schooling.. hit couple of clean PLOs and ...

Im not sure what this is called.. I call it retarded osis. It's an osis, but it comes around in front of me. I hit retarded osis>legover on the same foot a few times. If anyone wants to help with my terminology I'd appreciate it. :D

hit some more paradox mirages

hit a very clean ducking mirage
tried ducking butterflys... they're hard.

thats it i think. one long string of clipper>legover>opp clipper>legover forget what 2 add tricks went here, but i did 2 and then hit clipper>legover>opp clipper>drop. More sketchy explanations.

Footbag gets better and better every day.

11.4.05 first 4 add move and lots of clipper progress

Post by funklovesfootbag »

Hit my first 4 add move today, PS mirage. I am a happy person. i couldnt hit it on my flip side but i tried maybe 30 times so .. good progress.

Hit 4 consecutive illusions on my strong side (hadn't even hit 2 clean before.)

hit clipper>legover a lot and BSOS in a few long strings
hit clipper>pdx mirage a lot and BSOS
hit clipper>pdx pickup a few times
pdx illusion a few times but not BSOS
lots and lots of practice with clipper>pdx stuff and clipper everything.

really good long session.. trained some parkour (spelling?) also .. haha. and flying outsides.. very pleased with clipper progress and PS mirage. I feel like there were other good things but its hard to remember.. im hungry

11.5.05 frederck st sesh

Post by funklovesfootbag »

today was a lot of fun. a LOT .. of fun. I didnt get much sleep last night so I was tired and played kind of sloppy. And I played a fun game of net. I have the serve down pretty good but net is hard.

I hit a few PS mirages spread out over the session.
pdx mirage bsos clean once..

lots of the same, nothing i was particularly proud of but still very fun.

solo sesh

Post by funklovesfootbag »

solo session. hour long. nice day. clipper>legover bsos, pdx mirage bsos.

lots of clipper drilling, almost hit PS mirage flipside but I'm still a ways off on my form. Anything from clipper is super inconsistent. Why won't my legs move the right way each time? sigh.

....i still suck, but that's ok. it was fun. hard to play alone though, feel like i could lay down for about 5 hours after an hour session. Oh, and hit ducking mirage which kicks ass. such a sweet move.
