What does that even mean? People always say stuff like that and it seems like a wierd statement, especially in this context. If someone wasn't respecting your right to have your own thoughts then they would have a gun to your head telling you to agree with them or on a lesser scale, be publicly ridiculing you for your beliefs. Neither of those is happening or I doubt will ever happen in this thread.

Just because someone is disagreeing with you doesn't mean they are disrespecting you.

I think masculinism is just the 'way' men show confidence

Times change with the way men show confidence and it used to be beating the snot out of anything that looked at him the wrong way or other variances in other countries

{In parts of Africa, sex with a condom was supposedly an attack and a man's masculinity-hence another reason for spreading aids}

As far as masculinism in America, it's certainly changing. Although I'm not quite sure into what. Some people think it's ok to hit women. Albeit I sound chauvenistic, but I don't think it is.

I think the biggest way now a days show masculinism is simply through a ripped body, confidence, and financial security

i think it's funny, because i am as sexist as they come in a joking fashion, but when it comes down to it im actually more of a feminist than anything.

I'd still strongly support people's right to choose to work instead of giving the time to their children - it's just not the choice I would make.

I must say I think a major problem with the world today is the number of kids that are growing up without parents around, being allowed to do whatever they like with little or no disapline, and this happens because the parents choose to both work and not spend time with their kids.

I would agree with Toby that the fact many parents are both working, and not giving their children the attention they need, has resulted in part from the move of feminism over society.

I also think woman should be allowed equal rights to men, both should be able to have their own careers, but they need to learn to spend time with their kids aswell as follow their careers. Money isn't everything but so few young parents these days don't realise it till their kids are on the streets causing trouble, and they wonder why their kids turned out so bad.

Notice how commercials on T.V. potray the man as the bumbling idiot, having to be tolerated by the woman and/or the company representative of the maker of the commercial?

He always gets shown doing some menial, or silly task, often incorrectly, so that the woman has to buy the product to make things right. Or maybe not even have the sales pitch, but just show the moron anyway.

Whether he is buying a cell phone or a computer, the man (in the commercial) is a stumbling boob, or looks like a total flamer(deliberately).

Ah ahaha, that is great. I know a girl who is about 20 years old who watches that channel ALL THE TIME.

I don't know what kind of commercials they show on Lifetime, cuz I never watched more than a few seconds of that channel at a time.

You only need to watch for a few seconds, before you can guess what the main character(female) is a victim of.

EVERY movie is about a victimized women who has been stalked,beaten, and/or raped .

Lifetime channel probably helps dement womens' view of men.

Hopefully, we don't have 10 million young women watching that channel ALL DAY EVERYDAY.
