Laser Eye Surgery

Hey what do u guys know about laser eye surgery? I wanna not have glasses

Is it safe? i know there are different prices.. like.. some places 300 per eye.. some places 1000 per eye.. whats the difference?

the new technique they use now is called Lasik, the laser cuts so thinly somthing like .005 microns that your eye heals within the day.
I still woudnt get it, its still relativelt new there are no long term studies on the effects. Im fine with glasses/contacts as annoying as they may be.

I can't say much on it personally, but one of my roommates had it done over spring break last year and doesn't wear glasses or contacts at all. Good thing too cause he looked effing retarded with them... not that he looks that great without them either though.

I've reciently started wearing glasses (for distance - I can play 'fine' without them) and don't mind.
A friend of mine had Laser surgery a while back and he couldn't be happier with the results.

My dad had it done. He still needs glasses, but he can see better than before. He had no problems with it.

My six-year-old sister was born with a cateract in her right eye and had to wear glasses since she was one, but about a year and a half ago she got laser eye surgery and from what she said it was itching for about three days after. Now she has 20/20 vision.

I don't know much about it. I've heard that it's great. I've heard that there are chances you could end up with worse vision. I don't know the percentages, but to be safe, I would have to know everything there is about it and trust the doctor that is going to do it and all that kind of stuff to get it done. I have contacts, and I'm satisfied with them. I personally would suggest contacts before jumping straight to this if you haven't already tried them.

I think Daryl Genz and Rippin' got it done too. Now Daryl can see without glasses. Rippin' on the other hand, can only see in red now. Do some research on the net.

Everyone I know who has had it still wears glasses to some extent, but they are still happy with it. My mom had shitty vision before and still has to wear glasses while driving at night.

The difference between $300 and $2500 per eye is like the difference between a Hyundai and a Ferrari. If I were you, when it comes to medical procedures, I'd save up for the Ferrari.

There is still no studies that conclude whats going to happen to you 20-30 years after the procedure.
Even if the risk was 1 out of 100,000 that you could go blind i wouldnt do it. Im just not a risk taker i guess. What if there is a laser malfunction of somthing. Also you may need follow up procedures to fix it if they screw up a little.
But i think they do one eye at a time so you would only be blind in one eye.
Its like cosmetic surgery. I wouldnt get that either. Why go under the knife if you dont have to.

although the major downside to the ferreri is it's going to cost you and arm and a leg(maybe even an eye) if it breaks down.
